Review: THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ! I now worship Dave's principles. You cannot go another day without this book--it is the best thing you can do for yourself and/or your family. Most financial books (and radio talk-shows) talk about how to leverage your debt. Dave talks about how to NEVER have debt again and pay CASH. And I mean for everything including cars and houses. Sounds crazy, but with simple math he makes you realize how easy it can actually be! Financial Peace is a great one too (by Dave), but the Total Money Makeover is a "nuts and bolts" plan. GET IT! You will not regret it.

Summary: It Works!! We Tested It!!
Review: There are so many books on being financially set that you wonder if there can be another book that has the right principles. Almost like all those diet books out there.I needed some help and knew of 10 other families in need of help also. So we gathered together and did a course of study using this book as our main textbook. The results??? EVERY family is doing much better financially 4 months after completion of our studies. I am referring to 10 different families with 10 different backgrounds!!! My statement is that if it can work for this group there is no reason why it cannot work for you. The principles are simple to understand and therefore to follow. The key is learning how to really do a monthly budget with enough room to flow without choking through the month. IT WORKS!!!!

Review: This book can definitely change lives. Dave Ramsey provides a step by step "real life" approach to tackling your financial woes. I can't say enough good things about this book. Are you sick of living paycheck to paycheck? Are you tired of worrying about your retirement funds? Are you in a financial mess? Review: This book has impacted my life in a very big way. I would have bought the book much sooner if I knew it was this good. I also bought the audio book I think this is better if you are married. Then both can listen discuss and react at the same time.

After less than two months of listening to Dave on radio, our bill arrived from the credit card company and I owed $500 for the previous months spending. I was so irate with myself that I pulled out the old credit card and cut it up while my husband grinned from ear to ear. Then we went to Costco where Dave was appearing and had him sign our book and discovered for ourselves what a terrific guy he is! He not only cured our financial problems but his influence caused us to merge our finances, and write a monthly budget for the first time (at age 63 and 66). My husband and I were so filled with fresh hope that we were turning cartwheels of joy. We can't thank Dave enough!!! Asking for fresh financial advice is like asking for new ways to breathe air. There are rules in the universe dude, shut up and learn.

Summary: Baby Steps to Financial Freedom
Review: This common sense approach to debt management truly works. In a 3 week period, I erased over $3,000 dollars worth of credit card debt and in less than 6 months will be half way through another 16,000 worth of debt. The principles that are suggested are yours to use. Mr. Ramsey has been there and stresses that if you live like no other, then you can live like no other later on. It will not make you rich, but it will make you wiser and smarter when it comes to money management. A must have for anyone!

Summary: Dave Ramsey is the Man
Review: This is Dave's best book yet. It is an easy read and straight-forward. I couldn't put it down. The advise he gives is good old fashioned advise that will work everytime. After completing Dave's Financial Peace University class, my family has been following Dave's plan for the last 18 months. We have eliminated our consumer debt and in the last eight months have payed off over $14,000 on our mortgage. In less than 4 years we will be totally debt free including the house. I would recommend this book to anyone that would like to get out of debt.

Summary: A wakeup call
Review: Total Money Makeover is book both for those who are in debt and know they have a problem and those who are oblivious to their problems. It begins with a powerful argument on why the American lifestyle (buy now, bankrupt later) will lead to a retirement involving Alpo. For those who are convinced, it then presents 5 steps to financial freedom. For those who need to get out of debt, this is the book. If you just need to stop spending willy-nilly and develop a cash-flow plan, I recommend Dave's other book, Financial Peace: Revisited.

Summary: Wildly Inspiring
Review: When my husband brought this book home yesterday, I asked, "Why in the world did you buy another finance book? How is this different than the half dozen others collecting dust on the bookshelf?" The Total Money Makeover is completely different. I was up all night reading this book and I now have a "plan" on how to attack our finances beginning with SERIOUS debt reduction. I have not read another book that provides a step-by-step detailed plan as Ramsey's does on how to tackle debt. I have read other financial planning books that provided advice about retirement planning, savings and budgeting but the immediate problem for us was the truckload of debt that we had managed to accumulate throughout our undergraduate and graduate school experiences. The budgeting advice was fine in the other books, but they didn't explain HOW to budget so our debts could be effectively attacked and eliminated. I'm a detail-oriented person and I need a detailed game plan. The Total Money Makeover had a detailed plan along charts, graphs and goals that are easy to understand. This book is so inspiring. It is the first time that I have read a finance book and thought, "Yes, I can do this!" I would recommend this to anyone, especially those like us who feel that their debt is sucking the life out of them each month.
