Rating: Summary: Life changing paradigms Review: Are you ready to work? Really? If not - don't waste your time. But if you are, don't miss this book and don't miss the audio tapes! If you are willing to have your life work for you, and you are willing to pay the price of having to change your current life style, you will see in S. Covey's books all you need. These are not "quick fix" literature. These are ever lasting set of principles and distinctions that once you have and master - you cab be the source of self expression, love, self fulfillment, contribution and service to your self and the rest of your family, employees, friends etc. GO FOR IT!!! (Ronen Ben-Naphtali)
Rating: Summary: Covey is the best! Review: Covey stands tall above the rest in a world rife with self-improvement seminars. His practical wisdom can be applied to the workplace, marriage and parenting and truly enhance your life! Covey's strong Christian faith and commitment to family are evident in his philosophies and can only enrich every aspect of the whole person - which is what his 7 Habits are all about. This book touches on his "Begin with the end in mind" and shows you how. Highly recommend!
Rating: Summary: The choice companion book of anyone who want to change. Review: Even if you feel you don't need to change, you can always improve. This author has motivation and organization understood to an exact science. And he presents it a way that's easily grasped the first time and still interesting when used as reference. Take a look at Covey and his principles, I guarantee you'll soon see how phony "DR" Robbins and his gimmicks are. Your best option is to rent it from the library, read it - and if you like it (you will) then buy it .
Rating: Summary: To Learn....... Review: I found this audio book to be thought provoking. It has helped me to think deeper into what makes me "tick" and to order my life around those things which are most meaningful and productive in the long run.
Rating: Summary: Waste of Time Review: I loved "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People". But I'm returning this book. Just a collection of phrases for each day. Not what I was looking for.
Rating: Summary: Less than enthralling Review: I was dismayed to find that this audio book is simply a laundry listing (in an "advice o'the day" format) of tidbits of wisdom. The wisdom offered is good, mind you, but if you are looking for something to stimulate and entertain you (eg on a long car ride) you will likely be disappointed. I can only listen to about 4 or 5 tidbits before I lose interest.
Rating: Summary: Profound and Powerful - This program deserves ten stars! Review: If you have ever said to yourself:
I have too much to do and not enough time to do it
OR
I can't find the balance between my personal life and work. When I take time from one to the other, it just makes matters worse.
OR
There's simply too little of me to go around
OR
I don't feel in control of my life
OR
Way down inside I have this empty feeling. It's like the song, "Is that all there is?"
First Things First is not just another time management program. Rather, this is a program that connects the investment of time to our deeper priorities in life. The concepts espoused by Dr. Covey are profound, powerful and pragmatic.
Rather than offering you another clock, First Things First provides you with a compass. While other programs teach you harder, faster, and smarter First Things First teaches you direction and priorities because where you are heading is more important than how fast you are going.
Keeping with Dr. Covey's tradition, this program is about effectiveness not just efficiency. But not just effectiveness in your business life, but in your personal life as well.
Great program and highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: A necessary read in this agitated times Review: In our days, the society's pressure for obtaining more and more material things has made us forget about the really important things. We don't have time for our most loved beings, and we always have something "urgent" to do. Stephen Covey in this audio-cassette, show us that this kind of conduct is product of not hearing our inner voice, not following our principles. Sure, money is important but how many people, at th e ime they die would like to be more time at the office? Not a lot. When in an experiment, people is asked what would they do if they know they are going to die in six months, the most common response is to be more time with the loved ones. With the techniques that the author describe in his book, you will be able to create "time zones" that would help you to stay focused in the most important things of your social, spiritual, mental and physical dimensions, giving you a better quality of life. Another book that I recommend you, related with this theme of time management is: "Time Shifting, creating more time to enjoy your life" by Stephan Rechtschaffen.
Rating: Summary: First Things First - Fabulous. Review: Mr. Covey & Mr. & Mrs. Merrill did a great job putting together this audiocassette recording of First Things First. The teachings contained within educate you on how to find a balance in your life, fulfillment, and how to become more effective. Teachings regarding the 4-quadrant time management theory help you find where you are putting most of your time, and how effective it is. The authors put time management in its proper place: revolving around what is important and of value to you. Principle-centered living and basing your mission upon those principles will assist you in life success. I was very encouraged, and only wished that I had bought the six-tape system (I listened to the four-tape system).
