Summary: !!!
Review: Just read everything Dan Brown has written. If you can read his TRASH do that. :) He is BRILLIANT! Enough said? I feel truly enlightened after his books and Mr. Brown seems to be a rarity among us: an AWAKENED soul.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Too violent for me.
Review: Well researched. Very interesting. About 80% into the book the blood and gore started and I didn't want to read anymore. But, of course, I did and finished the book just to see how it ends. This is my 3rd Dan Brown book and probably my last because even though these books are a good read, they feel like a made for TV/movie script.

Summary: I loved it, but...
Review: I have read all four of Dan Brown's novels and rate them all at 5 stars.
Deception Point is the only novel of Brown's that has made a mistake
by assigning goodness and evil to 2 main characters by making one a
Republican and one a Democrat. The Democrat is a good guy
supporting a tax-funded black hole agency as something desirable.
The bad guys are evil free market villians which the public needs to be protected from. It's a shame that a person (Brown) that has explored so much of history and has made clear cut conclusions in order to weave his stories with so much authenticity, has to this point been unable to shed his political brainwashing received in schools of higher learning.
Deception Point did not have to identify political parties to make it the exciting novel that it is.

Summary: Please Read this Book!
Review: This is an outstanding, well constructed novel. Very exciting, great characters, plausible story, fantastic plot twists. You will probably do an all night reading session once you pick it up and read about the sled dog incident at the beginning.

Summary: Awsome Read!
Review: This is the first Dan Brown novel that I have read and I have to say "WOW". This novelist has talent and skill at crafting a fast paced thriller. The chacters are well developed, the plot flows well, and story telling is told flawless. I can't wait to read another Dan Brown novel.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: His 3rd Best
Review: Better than Digital fortress. This is a great novel! This ranks slightly behind The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. NASA conspiracies, cheating politicians, scientific enigma's...You'll enjoy it!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good story amongst the filler
Review: This was an excellent book marred by chapters full of what I would call "filler". The plot of the book is moving right along, when everything comes to a sudden halt with an entire chapter full of background info on one of the character or interrupted with seemingly useless interaction among other characters in the book. As an example, the main character can be at death's door on an iceberg when the story line suddenly switches to what politician had sex with which assistant on who's desk in Washington D.C. I found myself skimming page after page to get back to the "action". Again, this was a very good book with a great plot, but it should have been about one-third shorter.

Summary: Another Winner
Review: In the end, the deceiver is the person you would most likely least suspect, and the climax is a nail-biter of massive proportions. While DECEPTION POINT does start off a bit slow, it is worth reading for the thrilling goose-chase/climax, as well as the overabundance of fact and scientific theory. Another winner from this talented author! Also recommended: THE LOSERS' CLUB by Richard Perez

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Even Dan Brown fans can probably skip this one.
Review: Unfortunately, I read this book after The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Digital Fortress. The books were read in that order and provided diminishing entertainment returns.

Brown's two best books are Da Vinci and Angels & Demons. Digital Fortress is a bit geeky, but still a pretty good read.

Deception Point, in contrast to all of the above, is a bit dull and formula driven.

The good news it that Brown's latest book is his best one yet.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Needs More than 5 Stars
Review: The DaVinci Code was my first Dan Brown Book quickly followed by Angels and Demons. Deception Point was the best of three wonderful reads. In Deception Point the action is set in a current presidental election with the usual list of unsavory political characters and general maneuvering. The plot makes this book the most suspenseful one I have read in a long time. NASA is reporting a new discovery that offers proof that life exists on other planets. The story line has been reviewed several times already so I will just add that the suspense was nearly unbearable and the ending lived up to this reader's expectations with a surprise villian and wonderful end to the greedy senator who would be president at any and all costs.
