Rating: Summary: Fun Learning Review: At last a language vendor has recognized the need to incorporate songs and melody to learning. Rush hour Spanish is great to listen to just for the pleasant sounds and enthusatic speakers who will keep you entertained. Can hardly image why the prior person felt that the vocabulary was presented too quickly. There are printed translations to guide you should you need make such reference to any of the "new" vocabulary. My only hope is that a more advanced instructional CD would be published using the same technique. Just can't say enough about this approach.
Rating: Summary: Poor learning tool Review: By comparison to other language learning tapes, this one is poor indeed! New words are presented in machine gun fashion (too many at once). Contrary to the title, you wouldn't want to try to use this study guide while commuting. I wouldn't want to use it at all, I'm going to try to return it.
Rating: Summary: Great way to start Review: For a brand new beginner, this course works very well. I've purchased other Spanish courses and have found it difficult to get started. But these CDs are actually fun to listen to. I purchased this course less than a week ago, but have already listened to the first few tracks dozens of times. And the new vocabulary is sticking! These CDs are perfect for getting started to learn Spanish. Even if you have an ambitious goal to speak fluent Spanish, this is a great way start.
Rating: Summary: Not for music lovers.... or likers. Review: I got this with a little apprehension, suspecting that the music might not be a bit cheesy, but I am really trying to learn Spanish during my commute, so I thought I'd try.
Well the music is so heinously bad that I couldn't put it back in my CD player after having heard it once. I'd try and listen, but the cheap synthesiser sound and plinkety-plonk tunes would start to grate on my nerves so fast, I'd reach straight for the eject button.
Rating: Summary: Easy to Use...Easy to Learn! Review: I have been out of high school language class for 28 years but I need to learn Spanish because of my work. Rush Hour Spanish works! With all the time I spend in Chicago traffic, I have a lot of time to learn! In no time I learned numbers, colors, telling time, clothing, etc. Practical, essential, and easy to learn. Berlitz has done a great job with this series of tapes.
Rating: Summary: hola Review: i like spanish spanish makes me want to talk fast..blah i forgot what to say.
Rating: Summary: Learned A New Language In No Time Review: I own both the French and Spanish versions of the Rush Hour series. The instruction technique is remarkable! I was bored with other types of language instruction tapes that leave you feeling like a talking parrot. Instead, the Rush Hour method compliments any learning style and lets you progress at a comfortable rate. Students don't have to struggle over complicated and lenghty sentences. Each lesson is the perfect length for me whether I'm driving to work or travelling across the world. My 7-year-old son actually prefers to listen to the Rush Hour tapes over other music when we drive and he takes great delight in following the songs and stories in both languages. Even my friends who speak foreign languages fluently were impressed with how easily and eagerly I improved my skills. I highly recommend Rush Hour to anyone..its awesome!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable way to learn! Review: I really had fun listening to these tapes. Has really helped me learn Spanish and made me want to learn more. I wish they made a series in this format. Worked for me.
Rating: Summary: Easy listening, good entertainment value Review: I received "Rush Hour Spanish" just before Christmas and I listen to it almost every day while I'm driving to work. I love it. The tapes that I have used in the past (to learn French) were either dull or fairly goofy. "Rush Hour Spanish" is a lot of fun. The dialogues are very easy to follow and the songs are well produced and well arranged, so you don't get tired of them before you've learned the language. I've played the tapes during dinner a couple of times, and my son and my husband like them too.
