Rating: Summary: Good but not Greatest? Review: Over all I liked the book, it was hard to figure out who the murderer is and the "10 Little Indians" poem is really cute. But, Christie throws in a ton of characters and I admit it you will get lost towards the beginning. I didn't like the ways some of the victims die too. It seems like the characters should have been smarter than they were....
Rating: Summary: I Recomend This Great Book!! Review: This book written by Agatha Christie was very interesting and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It was about a mysterious host inviting people over to a guest house. Then the dies off one by one and then there were none!!!
Rating: Summary: a Really,Really,Really Great Book! Review: I thought this book was soooooooooooo good. If I could i'd give it twenty Stars instead of five,I would.I love the ending, through-out the whole book the killer was totally unknown and there was little or no clues droped. the epilouge was so odd. it was a very ceative and well writ book. It was the best book i read in months(^-^)
Rating: Summary: Read this book!! :o) Review: I consider the book, And Then There Were None, one of the best mystery novels that I have ever read. It is the story of 10 complete strangers lured to Indian Island by an annonymous host. Unable to leave the island, the guests begin to share many of their deepest and darkest secrets. When strange occurences start to happen, one by one, they die. I find Agatha Cristie one of the best suspense authors of our time. She is a very descriptive writer that can leave you hanging after every chapter. Personally, I couldn't put the book down. This book would be good for mature readers. I think that the more "mature audiences" would have an overall understanding of what is happening and could follow the story line better. I think that this is a great book and you should definitely read it!
Rating: Summary: The Best Mystery ever written ! Review: This is the best novel by Agatha Christie ! Everyone who love mysteries should read this masterpiece. The story is great, and like most of her novels, a wonderfully surprise ending ! (Don't read the ending first !)
Rating: Summary: great story for those interested in mystery Review: This book is not quite the best I've read compared to all other Christie's novels, nevertheless, it is intriguing. What disappointed me was the fact the story lacked a detective (i.e. Poirot) to show us how the mind of a sleuth work. Instead the killer's confessed the steps of the crime through a written diary.
Rating: Summary: Definitely the greatest mystery novel Review: Although I have read about 50 Christie mysteries over the years, I never read this book until a few days ago. I never wanted to read this book because I saw the film, "Ten Little Indians" which was adapted from the novel and it was a colossal disappointment. The film neatly eviscerates the moral of Christie's story by transforming Vera and Philip Lombard into lovers (two admitted murderers who get away scot-free - how's that for Hollywood's attention to story detail) who escape their island deathtrap after defeating the "killer." Much to my surprise, the novel is nothing like the film. For those of you who haven't read the story, I certainly won't give away the ending, and the other reviews have nicely summarized the plot, so all I will say is that I read this book at white heat in just over 2 hours because I could not put it down. This tale is not "only" a mystery story - it is a deeply felt study of the human heart. The crimes of the main characters are either sins of "omission" rather than "comission" - by choosing not to act, they cause the deaths of others, or they arrange a situation that will lead to murder, without necessarily being "directly" responsible for the death which results. This novel was written in a Europe which had just entered WWII, a war in which millioms were sent to their deaths by people who "did" nothing more than sign pieces of paper. At the Nuremberg trials, these killer bureaucrats refused to accept moral responsibility for their actions. The characters in "And then there were None" are similar types of people - they seem "normal" on the surface, but these facades of civilized behavior conceal whirlpools of arrogance, greed, selfishness and self-righteousness. This novel is, in truth, a gripping tale of madness and psychological horror. It amazed me to see how quickly these people allowed themselves to descend to an animal level of existence. So much for "civilized Europe." The scene where Christie compares the behavior of the remaining characters to specific animals was as good as Orwell's "Animal Farm". This book shocked and saddened me. Thinking about it kept me awake at night. An absolute must.
Rating: Summary: The most exciting book I've ever read! Review: The best book I've ever read in my entire life! You simply can't stop reading! The only thing that spoilt the book for me was that when I was half-way through, I read the very last sentence......
Rating: Summary: "Ten little Indians" was my key into the world of mystery! Review: Not only my first Christie novel, but my first mystery at all, "Ten Little Indians" introduced me to the world of murder over twenty years ago. Since then I have enjoyed numerous wonderful mysterys, not one of which even came close to rivaling Dame Agatha's gift to the world. Truly the #1 classic mystery of all time, one you will enjoy time and time again. You haven't lived until you have experienced "Ten Little Indians!"
Rating: Summary: "IT WAS THE BEST BOOK EVER" Review: this is a really great books for young adults. It has lot's of mystery that they would enjoy. I love how they everyone goes missing.
