Rating: Summary: Audio version.... Review: I had begun to read the hard back version, and thought the book made fairly good sense. So I decided to buy the book on tape, because I never seem to have time to read as much as I would like! Ms. Gabhorn has a slight speech impediment which distracted me from her message. The concept, from hearing it in her voice, seemed a little too cheery and shallow. It is not that simple. To see a car (for example) that I want, and to visualize me having it, and then expect to get it is not the reality.
Rating: Summary: deceptive read carefully.. Review: ...it looks simple, too chatty, too superficial to mean anything etc etc, HOLD IT RIGHT THERE. This says so much in a casual way that you have to read and re-read it and as it sinks in you life changes - if we every meet allow me to tell you about the house sale that fell through! And when all hope was gone - Lynn's techniques came through - don't do what she suggests all the time but when I do - I can trust it. After many years (and much money)in the New Age and Personal Growth field this one really cuts it. Make the investment
Rating: Summary: Excuse me, this is the best book ever! Review: I'm not usually compelled to write a review for a book I've read, but this one did it. Lynn Grabhorn takes the simple premise that "like attracts like" and beautifully demonstrates how it applies to our everyday experiences. Her theories behind positively and negatively projected energy are simple and make so much sense!! Composed in humorous, informal fashion, Ms. Grabhorn makes reading her book feel like a conversation with a good friend. I recommend it to anyone who is intersted in a refreshing new outlook on life.
Rating: Summary: A Good Start But a Long, Long Way to go . . . Review: Grabhorn may definintely be on to something here, but her glib and lofty promises of a Wonderful Life take a lot more than just remembering to shift our negative vibes to higher frequencies. She neglects to place adequate emphasis on the awesome power of the ego whose very life depends upon our continued nourishment. If you really buy that you can win the "Beat the Ego" contest in 30 days, as Grabhorn...promises, you're wrong. If it truly does work for you and all your dreams do come true, your name should be included in the Wisdom Masters of the Ages Hall of Fame. Remember, the vice-grip the mighty ego has on our lives cannot be underestimated - it is powered by very the same energy source that lights our lives. And to the ego, losing is not an option. If we don't believe that, take a good look at our own distressed and confused lives, and how nothing we've tried so far has worked - and probably won't work with this kind of "master" plan either. It can take a lifetime of self-study and dedication to get only a glimpse of what's really happening to us in our ignorance and blindness to The Source - and that's only the beginning. The rest is to realize and understand what we absolutely must give up - our illusions posing as reality and our false perspectives. Once we reach this level of self-understanding and finally know True Reality, we'll never, ever look back. ...
Rating: Summary: Simplistic pop-psychology Review: If your are looking for answers to the important questions in life, don't look here. This is positive thinking (be there now) with (supposedly) a new twist. You must FEEEEL what you are creating. It must be real to you in your body, not simply a mental exercise. If you FEEEEL where you want to be, it will manifest because you will raise your vibration level and attract what you want. Grabhorn spends many pages giving you this materialistic reading of Anthony Robbins and telling you how much money she is making. Her laugh is on me since she got me to purchase this book. I will start right away manifesting my [money] back.
Rating: Summary: I'm Picking Up Good Vibrations Review: Lynn Grabhorn's book is a once in a lifetime life-changing book that will grab you by the heart and not let go, even AFTER you put it down. While reading it the first time, I kept thinking I couldn't wait to get started reading it again. Only one other book has ever changed my life completely (Steve Chandler's "17 LIES") and like that book, this one gets into your system right away and changes the way you think, feel, dream, eat, walk, laugh, sing, drive, work, play and sleep. Based on a seemingly new-age esoteric concept of the magnetism of feelings (you draw into your life what you are feeling) Lynn Grabhorn then demonstrates in the most practical terms why it works. It works. That's all I can say. It really works.
Rating: Summary: Engaging, but... but... Review: As previous reviewers have noted, author Lynne Grabhorn has a very breezy, enjoyable style. You gotta love someone who names a chapter on human electromagnetic fields "Look Ma, I'm Vibrating". I'm more than willing to try her recommendation of visualizing what you want for 15 minutes a day. What have I got to lose?But... but... the thing that holds me back from accepting her whole philosophy about positive/negative vibrations and their results is I keep wondering: "Do successful people really do this?" I know people with quite a lot of money and success, and they're just as cranky, fearful and negative as the rest of us. On the whole though, Grabhorn presents very intriguing ideas, and this book has even inspired me to check out the work of her source, Esther Hicks.
Rating: Summary: Feelings, nothing more than feelings. . . Review: This simple little book has a powerful message: that our feelings determine how successful we will be in life. I don't know how Lynn came up with her breakthrough idea, but it works (if you practice it every day). Since reading this book six weeks ago my life has changed for the better. I now know how to lift myself out of blue moods, how to put a positive spin on setbacks or disappointments, and more important, how to get what I want by Feeling Good. It's so simple -- all you do is learn how to get that feel-good feeling in the pit of your stomach, and you magnify and expand those feelings, and attach them to something you want. You have to be clear about what you want, and Lynn gives some techniques for doing that. This book has given me more practical results than any book on meditation, visualization, or any other popular book on being successful. It's great! jaymack@ix.netcom.com
Rating: Summary: Yes, it works! Review: I began to read Lynn's book about 30 days ago. The book seems to be the answer to my pleas for help. I've spent years meditating, visualizing, affirming, making treasure maps, and so forth. Still, it seems I can only succeed at failure. Then I got Lynn's book and realized the problem. My attitude. My tendency to feel sorry for myself. And my constant complaining. Wow! So, now I am simply following her suggestions. I intend what I want to have come into my life, trust it's coming, then sit back and watch. One of my biggest problems right now is that I have a huge credit card debt. But twice this week I've been offered the chance to transfer my balance. Once for a rate of 5.9%, then for a longer term rate of 1.9% Plus, it appeared I'd be needing some serious repairs on my car engine, until someone took the car for the ride and realized my problems were due to a gas cap put on the wrong way. Problem solved. Also, I did my taxes, praying I wouldn't owe. No, I don't owe. I'm getting a $3,000 refund. And I've never gotten a refund like that. I don't get it. So, I believe that changing your attitude can make good things come your way. I've only been working on this for 30 days, but I expect things to get even better in the next 3 months. Lynn says it took her 6 months to turn her business around after applying these methods. You can't give up to soon, but you do have to get started. So try it and find out for yourself. Life is great when you're in the driver's seat, instead of the backseat driver grumbling all the time.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Reading, but Does It Work? Review: I did read the book, and enjoyed every bit of the author's outrageiously funny comments, so refreshing from the too often, morose, self-conscious New Thought fare. As Ms. Grabhorn had advised, I enthusiastically had applied her thirty-day monthly program -- three times in a row! With zilch results. In three months, surely something valuable could have been noticed. The prior customer-reviews are intriguing to read, but I need someone to give concrete feedback. It's nice that we're all feeling good, but how has your life really changed for the better? It would be greatly appreciated if future reviews addressed and answered this critical point. The author seems like such a genuinely nice person; I'm rooting for her to be right.
