Summary: Hilarious, and surprisingly fair and fact based!
Review: Michael Moore gives both criticism and credit when and where they are due in this book. It's hilarious and fact based. It's vitally important for us as Americans to look at where we go wrong with our denial and accusations as preposterous as being an, "America hater" for merely questioning the extreme decision making of our governent, regardless of party. The book is funny, but also important for those of us who aren't , and don't want to be lock step sheep, brainwashed by the Fox News hillbilly propaganda channel, etc. Truth can be pretty confronting, scary, and painful, but we need to seek it out and do what's right to continue being the great nation that we are....or were. This book can help open our eyes, and make us laugh through one of the dark periods of our nation's history. We can be great and decent and respected again instead of merely being feared and hated. We are all Americans. Be good and decent, and tolerant. Think for yourselves, read this book, and do what's right in your heart, not what mean spirited A.M. radio and Fox News shoved down your throats in between car chases and tractor pulls.

Review: Michael Moore has reemerged as America's conscience with another hard-hitting epic trained squarely on the corrupt and the excessively privileged, who seek to feather their collective nest at the expense of the rest of Americans. The same man who tackled the head of General Motors for moving his plant from Flint, Michigan and reducing Moore's home town to economic disaster, and who tracked down Charlton Heston to explain his attitude about gun permissiveness in the wake of increasingly alarming national statistics, has struck again, writing once more in his familiarly facile, no-holds-barred manner.Moore once more focuses on how the Bush machine seized power, along with showcasing the elements that brought this coup about. In the same forceful manner of Molly Ivins and Greg Palast, Moore strips the political world bare of the deceiving sound bites and pursues the nitty gritty. He tells us what we must know about the real links surrounding 9-11, particularly the close Bush family ties between the bin Laden family and the Saudis. Moore stood on stage and received an Oscar at the last Academy Awards presentation, reading Bush the riot act for creating a "fictitious war" in Iraq. Here is someone who writes straight from the heart. It is Moore all the way and not striped-pants spinmeisters writing his material. The conviction and sincerity of purpose shine through as one explores where America has headed, as well as how to extricate the nation from the current abyss.

Summary: Political satire at its best
Review: Let me start by saying that some of you people take what Michael Moore says way too seriously. Indeed he has wonderful political ideals, but some of what he says is supposed to be outrageous. Secondly, all of the negative reviewers (of his film, other books and otherwise) claim he distorts truths and tells lies. Let me provide a tidbit of info: so far Michael Moore has had ZERO law suits filed against him for his books or bowling for columbine. I suppose his lies aren't too terrible then, are they? All that aside, this is a great book. In fact, it couldn't be more appropriate for the times. Maybe this book will help "dethrone" Dubya. If you want to read some interesting social and political commentary fused with hilarious, intelligent humor, then this is your book. If you're the type who takes yourself too seriously or thinks Limbaugh should run for president, I'd recommend another book.

Summary: Take your country back
Review: Michael Moore is a brilliant voice in the long standing American tradition of literary protest. What distinguishes his work, and this book in particular, is his use of gut-splitting humor to make serious criticisms based on new evidence. Moore's popularity is perhaps the best evidence that there is indeed popular support for some big social changes. Left-leaning readers will be inspired. Right-leaning readers will be scared. Everyone will laugh.

Summary: He does it again!
Review: Once again, Michael Moore is on target as he exposes the agenda, the hypocrisy, and the deceit of our neocon leaders. He also does a good job of detailing what steps might be taken to turn the tide. While right wingers dominate television and radio, we still have books. Why is that I wonder? Most of the right wing pundits who have written books have not sustained any sort of political argument. It seems that it is much harder for the right to state and defend than it is for the left. I have read T. Carlson's book, Glenn Beck's book, and Bill O'Reilley's latest book. None of these books deal with ideas, but are more about the authors themselves. You may disagree with Michael Moore, but his book is provocative, and it is about the issues. Only that there were two or three more Moores.

Summary: Bringing us the truth, but bringing us hope as well
Review: Having purchased this book less than 5 hours ago, I simply couldn't put it down. I must admit, I don't agree with everything that Moore stands for, but he is completely brilliant, yet again. If you haven't seen Bowling for Columbine or read his other books, you absolutely must read this grand work. Far from being a conspiracy theorist, Moore works to fill in the gap left by our conservative media supply. He fills in the gap that the media has seen fit to ignore in Bush the lesser's ties to Kenny Boy Lay, the Saudi Royal Family, and the bin Laden Family. At certain points I remember thinking, this is far too fantastic to be true, or completely true. But before I got too far into that thought, he went ahead and filled the pages with his sources. Some claims I thought were too great to base on one source, and almost reading my mind, he includes dozens of sources for some claims. This book is thoroughly researched, entertaining and 100% spot-on. Read this book. The best part of this book, besides being shockingly informative, is that it still leaves you with a sense of hope. He's not telling us that the situation is completely hopeless and instills a sense of power back into the hands of the people. Where it belongs. You don't have to like Michael Moore to read this book. You don't have to like his politics. But you can still love his enthusiasm and determination to find and report the truth. Or at least the other side of the truth that the media never reports.

Review: Another great book from Michael Moore that tells the truth about the Bu$h administration. Like always, Moore brings out the facts (and lies) that never seem to surface from the government or the media. Hilarious, factual, and thought provoking - it's a must read for all who love America and have hope for a brighter future in this country.

Summary: Funny, infuriating and a must-read
Review: If you know and like Michael Moore, then this book needs no introduction, as it is easily on par with "Stupid White Men" as one of the most caustic, hilarious and thought-provoking works of the last few years. I couldn't help but laugh when some reviewer called him a conspiracy theorist, as he is anything but (and actually adresses the issue in the first chapter). This books suprised me by how well researched it is. For example, all of the data connecting the Bush family, Enron and the Bin Laden family is well presented and includes copious footnotes. As is his custom, Moore addresses the reader in a friendly yet never condescending style. He phrases in plain English what many of us are thinking, and it's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one amazed at the lies fed to us by all politicians. Finally, Moore's strength is that he is not partisan. I know Conservatives love to label him a liberal, but he really isn't, and they know it. Moore is a true patriot, attacking Bush, Clinton and whoever crams lies down our throats.

Review: I got the book this morning and read it all day. I love the book. Michael Moore exposes Bush for the Fuhrer he really is. The book isn't as funny as his last book, but I think this book carries more information. He goes out and really explains things for the way they are. It's controversial, and I hope it inspires people.

Summary: A voice of reason in dark times
Review: Again, Moore proves himself to be entertaining while simultaneously politically provacative and persuasive. The most impressive facet of the book is its copious footnoting and endnoting. Unlike some of his conservative counterparts, Moore seems to be doing his homework. I will admit that, in places, Moore's rhetoric gets too thick, something I've found in his movies as well. Overall though, I can only hope that the quality and subject matter of this fine book will somehow rub on the American public, as well as a blind Congressional body. I have a feeling though, that pervasive (and nonexistent) "liberal" media will do all it can to quell Mr. Moore once again.
