Rating: Summary: Would be better if he held his bias in check Review: Michael Moore does a good job of stating the facts and doing good research--when he chooses to do so. Unfortunately most of the book reads like an irate political analyst with a vendetta against Bush rather than a honest, critical look at the way things are in our country. There are kernels of wisdom in this book, but they have to be carefully filtered out through most of Moore's angry rhetoric.
Rating: Summary: Dude, Where's Your Head??? Review: Michael Moore is funny. He does deserve credit for humor. You can get a good laugh regardless of what your political leanings are. Having said that:I was surprised at the overly simplistic arguments. I was really expecting "Moore." Anyone with some background in history and foreign policy over the last 50 years can EASILY sift through the errors in Michael Moore's logic (or lack of). Not much to challenge the concervative mind. After you read this you will be thankful that Michael Moore is a Hollywood actor and NOT an elected official.
Rating: Summary: Why you should read this book Review: The conservatives who have made a concentrated effort to try to discredit Michael Moore are certainly present at Amazon as well. You will notice of course for reviews like this "One star for accuracy, which is the more important aspect to me," then goes on to give not even one example for why this book is inaccurate. Does any convservative here have a reason for why this book is inaccurate? Or did you post to make a childish remark like that Moore is overweight? It's really sad that people are so against actually listening to the points in this book then blindly attacking it and it's author for being un-American. I guess questioning the presidents integrity when their is considerable evidence against it is un-American. Don't listen to the angry conservatives who posted reviews, read the book and do your own homework and make your decision. In my opi nion, a very interesting read and backed up with enough evidence to make it credible.
Rating: Summary: Looks like Michael Moore drank the kool-aid Review: I thought I would get a fresh prospective when I read this book -- instead I found it to be nothing more than a bush-bashing book with no real facts or figures to back anything up -- you could sense the anger in this book. People often make rash, stupid and idiotic remarks when angry, these are often regreatable statements that hover over a person for a lifetime. I guess Michael Moore is no exception.
Rating: Summary: God Bless Michael Moore! Review: We love him in Korea! We support Michael Moore and everything he stands for. Down with Bush and Up with Kerry!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: I feel compelled to rate this book if for no other reason than to offset the utterly unfair 3.5 stars it has been brought down to thanks to right-wing conservatives. I thoroughly enjoyed it and feel it should be compulsory reading for anyone who cares about the future of this country.
Rating: Summary: Go to the shelter! It's a carpet bombing!! (a french's view) Review: Mike succeeds with so much humour to make right and sharp critics about the republican administration, America's international policy, its energy policy and its consequences, the fincancing of the presidential candidates by industrials So much critics could be annoying for the reader but he employs so much humour that we take so much pleasure to discover what's happening... His clear and sharp analyse of all those last 4 years events impose respect. He shows clearly (with facts and figures) that the picture of the US given abroad is wrong and, above all, that neither the republican party nor the democrate party integrate the true values of the American society. Mike is a new Voltaire! He's courageous and suggests alternative ways of doing things!
Rating: Summary: Facts, Feelings, Needs, What A Read Review: I have found that you can always tell when a 'conservative' writes a politically charged book. There is NEVER any documentation. So, it is wonderful to find that this book, Dude, Where Is My Country, is full of documentation and facts. Our country is dying on the vine and being sold down the river by the scumbags that call themselves our leaders. Michael Moore has done a great job of exposing Bush and his cronies for what they are: crooks, heathens, and scumbags. Never have we been in more need than now to be entertained with factual data. READ THIS BOOK. What a read it is!
Rating: Summary: Bill O'Reilly's new book asks: Who's looking out for you? Review: Answer: MICHAEL MOORE!!!!! And not the multi-millionaire O'Reilly. Moore is the spokesman and champian of the little guy --he's on your side!! After reading this book and watching his documentary "The Big One," I feel that Michael Moore is right on and thru the target.
Rating: Summary: Fight the war against ignorance and deception Review: If you care about people's lives, does that make you unpatriotic? If you want people to know the truth about government lies, does that make you a hateful extremist? If you want justice and equality to truly exist in this country, does that make you a radical? Apparently, the right-wingers' answers to all these questions are "yes" and are indicative of their backwards, brainwashed logic. The political state of this nation is resembling a George Orwell novel that most republicans haven't read since they're too busy trying to have it banned in the name of freedom. Michael Moore is helping to increase awareness and political activity across the country, and this book is a well-researched and insightful look at the current administration's lies and imperialist destruction. Make up your own mind about what Moore has to say, but if you disagree with him, you are what the right wing wants you to be: a cloth-eared simpleton who will support an unjust war and allow his or her political rights to be compromised without caring.
