Summary: I challenge YOU to be PATRIOTIC!!
Review: This book and his AMAZING film "Bowling for Columbine" changed my outlook on everything. First of all, to all you "conservatives" how is it that the richest country in the world can't provide proper health insurance, jobs, minimum wages you can survive on, and Social Security (in the future)? In European nations people have twice the vacations, retirement age is in the 50's (and we're considering raising it to 67) and we work more hours (with low wages) just to make ends meet. Education is expensive... the list goes on and on.
And why is it that companies are sending jobs abroad? Many of the companies had increased profits in the past couple of years and they're still outsourcing... They're even sending Government jobs to India (as well as call centers).

Soon the only jobs that will be left will be retailing and what the Bush admin wants to consider "manufacturing" jobs(working at fast food chains for 7 dollars per hour-since all our manufacturing jobs are now in Asia and South America).

What has happened to Americans these past 20 years (and more recently) would be cause for mass protest in Europe, but here we might complain for a bit, but we generally accept everything our government does for fear of seeming "UNPATRIOTIC".

I strongly believe that Americans should redefine what being PATRIOTIC means. Being patriotic does not mean believing and following EVERYTHING your leader does (even if he is a BIG FAT CROOK). Being PATRIOTIC IS WANTING THE BEST FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND YOUR PEOPLE.

So we should really ask ourselves, is this the best the US can do being the wealthiest nation in the world?

PLEASE, Liberal, Republican, Democrat, whatever you are, ask yourself that. And if you feel that what is happening to the uninsured, elderly, decreasing middle-class, college students with loans and credit card debt, obesity, unjustified war, offshoring, ect... IS THIS THE BEST WE CAN DO?

Do it for your COUNTRY AND SOCIETY, not for your political party or reputation!!!

Summary: Dude, the review's in - it's a winner!
Review: This book is exactly what you'd expect by Mr. Moore - an anti-Bush, liberal-championing tome by an unapologetic activist. That's mostly what I expected and why I bought the book in the first place, and I wasn't disappointed. However, Moore is sometimes just a little too raw for me (and I'm a very left liberal) when criticizing the president, and that takes away from his credibility, a little.

However, perhaps Moore is what liberals have been lacking for a long time - a strong fighter that isn't scared off by the right's attack tactics. To that point, Moore succeeds brilliantly, exposing the Bush family's strong ties to Saudi Arabia's royal family and also the bin Ladens. It almost looks too impossible to believe, but the first chapter on the Bush family's ties to the Saudis is so extensively footnoted (and by reputable sources), it's going to be awfully hard if not impossible for the right to debunk Moore's accusations and assertions. One area that Moore discusses at length - the fact that many Saudis and members of bin Laden's family took off for France the day after 9/11, when all flights were grounded! Why did our government allow it? Moore wants to know, and shouldn't we all?!? Moore lambastes that decision and many others by the president during and following 9/11. As you would expect, Iraq takes center stage.

The middle of the book has a Jesus chapter that I didn't find amusing at all - if you're going to blast the radical religious right, do it without blaspheming Jesus and the Bible. The Christian fundamentalists make an easy enough target without resorting to such tactics.

However, after that, Moore makes a comeback with a "call to arms" to all liberals for the upcoming election. He even goes so far as to say that he's going to donate the amount of his unnecessary Bush tax cut (he's in an upper income bracket) toward defeating the president, and he's even got a Web site where readers can e-mail suggestions about where to send money from his cut. Bravo, Moore!

If you want the real story behind many of Bush's flubs, but you want it with the "bark off," look no further than this book. I'd rate it right below Al Franken's book, "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right." The cover photo is brilliant, and it serves as proper foreshadowing for the book's contents. I think of Moore as the left's Ann Coulter; he doesn't have the legs, but he has what Ann never will - credibility and honesty.

Summary: This book should be in congress and passed around.
Review: This book is phenomonally excellent. I've never been interested in politics until around the 2000 election (I'm 22 y/o male from NY) when we voted in Gore. (By we I mean the country. It was Bush's cronies who APPOINTED him president after all the BS in florida). Take it from me, it's so incredibly stupid to not care, or to purposely ignore whats going on in politics or the WORST to take whats in the news for the full story. Every person needs to get involved and ask themselves, morally, what is right and what is wrong. I KNOW in my heart that 70-80% of americans will agree with this book, and are actually very liberal minded. Do you like fresh air? Do you want your drinking water to be clean, and pollutant free? Does it piss you off that the wealthy keep getting wealthier and the poor keep getting poorer? Did you know that in 2000 Rumsfeld vetoed a vote that would take .6 billion out of a 200+billion dollar budget and put it towards antiterrorism? Because his tax cut would be a couple hundred dollars less. Don't listen to the lies the right wing has been spreading, their immorality and hypocrasy is easily seen when reading this book, or Al Frankens book (Lies, and the Lying Liars who tell them). So please, for the SAKE OF THIS COUNTRY read this book. Tell a friend. Get active. Bush has been lying to you about everything.

Summary: Even better than "Stupid White Men"
Review: I literally could not put it down. This book is Moore's best yet. A sobering look at the mess the Bush administration has made of our country since stealing the 2000 election.

Summary: Michael Moore does it again.
Review: Michael Moore has done his research. Now that he has asked the right questions , can he provide the right answers?

Summary: funny, pure entertainment.
Review: Ok... we all know hollywood is good for two things. pretending to be someone else, and pretending to know politics. Moore is a pro. Unlike some other reader's reviews though, i knew i would not agree with him. It wasnt my point to read something i agree with. I got it to see how a "actor" could do writing a full book, 90% make believe...

It's a riot, but not the type Moore wanted. If you are one who can laugh off political propaganda, read the KCNA news and definatly buy this book. You'll be rolling around on the ground laughing to no end. In Saving private ryan there was a scene where a german soldier was screaming on a loudspeaker "the statue of liberty is kaput!", well that's what this book is all about.

Summary: An excellent endorsement of my cause
Review: Michael Moore is exposing the nature and evil of the US government and is helping me to rally the hatred I need to increase my fold. I would wholeheartedly recomend Michael Moore, his work out does the work myself and my good friend Ayman Al Zawhahiri co authored, the declaration of Jihad against America. It is my fondest wish to see America disintegrate and fall apart from the inside and this book is precisely the kind of material required for that to happen.

Summary: They're Wrong.
Review: Many thanks to the "reviewers" who, like all of the flag-waving, jingoistic fascists demands that we supress any dissent and has the audacity to decide what's "right" or "wrong" or "correct" expression. I count myself among those who love the America our founding fathers envisioned, not the America of McCarthy and Nixon. The McNixons want us all to shut up and tell us what to do, or say, or buy if we "love America". Well, I love America so much I'm buying Michael Moore's work; and I'm STAYING in America and fighting for America and it's flag, despite what the counter-revolutionary Stalinistas want - a silent, compliant, slave-state.

Summary: Liberal...BIG time
Review: I am a Clinton-loving, big word-using, New England-living, Gore-voting, recount-obsessing LIBERAL and even I couldn't make it through this book. It's condescending at best and boring at worst. We Americans are not stupid yet he treats us as such. He drones on and on and on about Bush and the war through the whole book...or at least what I read of it, which was a little over half. Save your money or buy James Carville's books instead. Viva la CLINTON!!
