Summary: No scholar, but common sense the country needs
Review: Michael Moore is no scholar - let's get that out of the way. He gets some facts wrong (although mostly right) and his logic is a bit wanting at times. He plays to simple appeals (like all in politics) too often, and his humor can be used to hide his anger and make things more digestible.

However, for anyone with the Brain Switch to "ON" over the last few years, it is clear that his common sense is on the money. The enormous distortions of truth and out-right lies from the Bush administration on everything from the economy to the war in Iraq would be shocking, if it weren't for the fact that these lies have been successfully planted deep into the American mindset. Corporations DO buy out politicians and control the major media outlets. 99% of American's are not doing better than they were 30 years ago. And most Americans do in fact side with the "liberal" agenda on issues.

Most frighteningly, he hits too close to the bull's eye on the issue of "dismantling" the Constitution. There is nothing more un-American than denial of rights, whether its due to the Cold War or the War on Terror.

Moore is doing this country a service, even if it is not understood by the Right.

Summary: The Chief
Review: Dude, I tell you where "Your Country" is.

This fat slob ate it.

Moore is light on facts, and great at taking giant leaps of logic to support his beliefs/views.

His understanding of economics is minimal and flawed from the get go. He also has a very warped view of history and the intent of our founding fathers when they created this country.

If you enjoy a good laugh read this book.

Also, if you have no understanding of Repbulicans/Conservatives and the US Constitution, and don't want any further understanding, read this book.

If you have more in common with Vladamir Lenin and Karl Marx, than you do with Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, read this book.

Summary: A direct hit!
Review: Judging the content of the negative reviews, it appears that Michael Moore has scored a direct hit. This is evident by general, as opposed to specific, claims of incredulity and the ad hominem attacks. Read the book. If the facts are wrong, educate us all by sharing them.

Bush may be the most devisive president in our country's history He has gotten a free ride from the press because they thought he was several bricks short of a load and harmless. Clearly, that is not the case. If everyone had read Shrub by Molly Ivans, Bush would never had been in a position to be appointed president. But the press held facts back from the public until it was too late.

One star is off because Dude is part entertainment and part educational and a mainstream reader. If you want to read something more scary about Bush, Ivan's Bushwacked will keep you up at nights.

Summary: propaganda drivel
Review: Low on facts, high on insinuations and blatant lies.
But who needs facts, the author makes more money by spinning tales that his followers want to hear.
Perhaps his ego will finally grow big enough that in the next book he will declare that the Earth is really flat, and the view that Earth is round is spread by a conspiracy of white, gun crazed men (members of NRA and republican party, of course). But I am sure that even then he would find plenty of believers :-)

Summary: Read the book yourself and make your own opinion
Review: I read the book (should said listened to it) and found it very informative. If you actually bother to read the book and not just post negative comments you'll find he has some interesting points, scary facts and fairly good suggestions. I found the book both motivating and patriotic; I wish the "Right" would realize that democracy means everyone can have an opinion, not just the "conservatives". Nobody is always right and we all need to get along in this world, care about more than our own selfish needs. That's what this book teaches you. Enjoy. Also, Rightists, quit being so angry, you've got almost everything going your way, find something worthwhile to complain about.

Summary: USSR
Review: Dude, where's my country? It's called the Soviet Union, and it ceased to exist 14 years ago!

Summary: Proven Liar
Review: Before reading this or any other MIchael Moore book or watching any of his movies, you might want to check out the following web address: http://www.mooreexposed.com . Among other items on this site, you can find out how Moore fabricated "evidence" for his "documentary" Bowling for Columbine. He can have his political opinions--I don't agree with them and I think his attitude is extremely childish--but his opinions should not be sold as fact. This book is NOT FACTUAL. You cannot trust anything that comes out of his mouth unless you can independently confirm it. And if you think that you can't trust George W. Bush, may I ask if you're a Clinton supporter? If someone trusted Clinton but claims that Bush cannot be trusted, then that person is blinded by political ideology.

Summary: Why don't they all take a stand?
Review: Moore is one of two (Natalie Maines), who are in the entertainment field and have the balls enough to say how they feel on Bush and his administration. I agree with everything they are saying. I'm not a big fan of Bush. For one he is only trying to finish what his father started back in Desert Storm. With no clue on how it will effect the country, mentally. You see he is quick to send troops over and break up happy homes. Why don't he send his alcoholic and drug addict daughters over there? And stop having the families face with burying there love one. Secondly, why are we over there? Is it the weapons of mass destruction? THERE ARE NONE! If so, where are they, Powell? And I'm so sick and tired of hearing, we've found evidence. ...We want to see the actual weapon. So now that we can't find the weapons, let's change our story. We went over there to relieve the distress from the Iraqis'. If so, why are our troops dying everyday. I know when someone goes out their way to help me, I'm feeled with gratitude, and thank them, not kill them. The whole war is rediculous. Just another way for "them" to have more control over us, hint:homeland security. So I agree with Moore and Maines who just don't care and speak their mind no matter how some see them and I mean some because I'm speaking for the people who stand behind them, people who don't need to kiss anyone ... to get to the top. So why don't they all tell how they feel and instead hiding the fact. Too scared, instaed let's make a joke and remind the audience it's just a joke. Grow some balls entertainment industry, please.

Summary: No more bush
Review: I have just purchased and read 2 very informative books... This one, about politics, and the other, The Nice Guys Guide to Getting Girls, which is about dating. If you want to know the other side of 9-11, or want an explanation for the whole Osama ordeal, then this book perfect. This book is also perfect for those who want to know why our country is in the state its in, and who should be held responsbile for this distressed state. This book definitely shows you why bush needs to be replaced and will gie you confirmation for distrusting him. Moore is great in backing-up his quotes and story, by backing-it-up at the bottom of the page or the end of the book. HiS material isn't fabricated... it's all fact. This book is great and informative.

Summary: DUDE, NOTHING MOORE
Review: ...A 'NATIONAL ENQUIRER' FOR THE LEFT - NOTHING MOORE - SHAMEFUL.

....SCARIEST THING OF ALL IS THAT THIS BOOK SELLS! - WE ARE FRIGHTENED TO DEATH BY THIS FACT - WORRIED ABOUT AMERICA'S FUTURE - THE IGNORANCE OF THE LEFT IS OVERWHEMING - THE STUFF OF FUTURE CIVIL WAR! CAN'T ALL THESE MOOREPHITES JUST MOVE AWAY - SAY TO CUBA?

HOW ABOUT A COLD HARD FACTS & TRULY LOGICAL DEBATE WITH MOORE (MOORON)? HE COULDN'T HOLD A CANDLE TO A REAL INTELLECTUAL BECAUSE FACTS ARE ALL MIXED UP WITH FICTION IN HIS YOUNG EMOTIONAL & SELFISH BRAIN (NO ONE IS STOPPING YOU MOORE FROM GIVNG YOUR MILLIONS BACK TO THE GOV'T - YOU SUPPORT A 70% TAX RATE, REMEMBER NOW THAT YOUR RICH?).
A TRULY DISTRUBING BOOK - HOW ABOUT A 'FAIR' ATTACK FROM THE LEFT - NOT AN UNSUBSTANTIATED & GLIB 'HIT & RUN' FULL OF SOUND BITES THAT THE LEFT - PARTICULARLY THE DISGRUNTLED WEST-HATING LEFT & ADOLESCENTS - EAT UP?
