Summary: The ending of this book haunts me still..
Review: First off...I'm no romantic, however the love story in this book had me captivated, I didn't think SK had it in him. In addition this book's ending left me particularly haunted, it's the first time King has ever gotten under my skin. Like everyone else I eagerly await the next installment.

Summary: What is with the impatientce?
Review: You know what really gets on my nerves. Impatient people. For all the people who didn't like this book especially because of length and irrelevence should stop reading it now. So what if we didn't learn too much about the Dark Tower, we probably won't until the last book of the series. That's sort of the point.
This book has made me want to be a part of the ka-tet walking along the beam and frankly, Rolands flashback was the best part of the entire series so far and that, my friends is saying a lot. For those who can't take some tragedy and misery, welcome to Roland's life. That is what we were meant to get out of the flashback. We found out why Roland is the way he is and how he started his quest for the Dark Tower
If King had tried to make this series short and sweet, it wouldn't be nearly as spellbounding as it is, and it definately is the best series I have ever read. Take your time Stephen King, some of your fans like detail.

Summary: Awesome Saga Continues
Review: What can I REALLY say? The Dark Tower series is the best modern literature I have read. This particular book has it's flaws, but it fits in beautifully with the whole.

Summary: Fantastic read
Review: This book digs deep into Roland's past to help understand the darker side of his character. While the book does not carry Roland and his group much closer to the dark tower, it does help to explain the reasons for their quest. I especially liked the tie in with other King stories and the return of our old friend, Randall Flagg. This book also has one of the most morbid endings of any King book since Pet Sematary. It leaves you longing for the next chapter in the story, which hopefully won't take another five years. This book is a must for any fan of the Dark Tower series.

Summary: An enchanting story which makes you WAIT for the next one..
Review: +AH4-I absolutely loved Wizard and Glass. It has been so long since the last Dark Tower book that I had almost forgotten what it was like. Wizard and Glass brings Roland and his friends back, and shows us a side of Roland greatly missing in the previous novels. More importantly, this story is the best of Stephen King's writing---his ability to touch, to turn everyday feelings, thoughts, and experiences into a tale (scary or otherwise!), and his ability to engage a reader till the end. Wizard and+AH4-+AH4- Glass will leave you pondering long after you are finished...it left me wondering what would happen next and how fast Mr. King will write it+AH4-

Summary: Emotionally strong!
Review: Lucky for me I was following the Dark Tower series when Wizard and Glass first came out. To tell you the truth I have never read a beter series of books. If you have not yet started to follow the Dark Tower series I highly recomend you do. It might be your "ka".

Summary: Nice flashback,silly ending, not worth 5 years of waiting
Review: This was a good read. Quite fun and like many other readers I could not put it down.
However, it appears that King really has no idea where the story is going. After a 500+ page flash back he gives us a contrived crossover with another of his books and (just for the heck of it I suppose) the Wizard of Oz.
King has taken this series from an epic quest to a mega-crossover sur-realistic mess. I fear that there is no plan, only mildly clever ideas thrown together at random.
I really didn't need to see Roland in ruby red cowboy boots. I really didn't.

Summary: Excellent! A terrific tale well told.
Review: I loved this book (though not without reservation). I'm dismayed at the comments of some reviewers complaining about the length - or even the existence - of the flashback section of the book. It seems clear enough that the episode from Roland's youth was intended to be the heart and primary focus of this volume. The flashback provides a wealth of insight into Roland's character by intimately exploring defining experiences in his formative years that contributed to the mysterious personality we find in the main timeline of the story. How can anyone professing interest in The Dark Tower epic consider that pointless? I found it the most moving piece of work SK has produced since his masterpiece novella, "The Body." Mr. King at his best makes me live his stories to an extent I rarely do with other authors and I truly lived the "Roland & Susan" story in this book. I share the hope of most of the other reviewers that SK gives us another Dark Tower volume in the near future. On the other hand, I hope he takes all the time he needs to do it justice. Unlike the anti-flashback minority, I am hopeful that we get additional segments fleshing out Roland's background. I look forward to learning more about what happened to Cuthbert and Alain, and about Roland's life between age 15 and the start of "The Gunslinger." I am NOT anxious to get to the end of this trek; I'm enjoying the journey too much.
On the down side, I was disappointed with the "Emerald City" segment. It seemed shallow and contrived - but maybe that was only by comparison. I got the impression that Mr. King poured his soul into the Roland & Susan story and rushed the rest of the book just to have an envelope to contain the flashback.

Summary: Wizard and Glass...Absolutely the best
Review: It had been so long since I had read the first three volumes that I searched through all my old paperbacks and found the second and third volumes. I ended up buying "The Gunslinger" again and started the series from the beginning. Talk about an adventure!!! I didn't want any of it to end. In my opinion, Wizard and Glass is the best of the series. The length of the book just made it that more interesting. I LOVE LONG BOOKS. I can't wait for the next volume. I really hope we don't have to wait too long. W & G is as good, if not better than "The Stand" (I 've read The Stand three times). The dialect Mr. King uses in W & G keeps you on your toes! At times I laughed out loud! I recommend re-reading the first three books because of the references often made to other events in Roland's past. Life for you, Life for your crops!!!
