Summary: A heart wrenching love tale between Roland and Susan...
Review: I didn't know what I was getting into when I picked up this book....but as the story unfolds, I found myself wanting to fall in love all over again for the first time. King adeptly describes the feeling of falling in love for the first time....the happiness, bliss of waking up everyday and knowing that you've found a whole new meaning to your life. The anticipation, the heartaches, the sweet misunderstandings which all evaporates the moment you hold each other in your arms. A really superb attempt of King at romance and I'm sure it takes someone to truly experienced in love to be able to write like that. I really liked the way King builds up the tension between Roland and his best friend Cuthbert....the jealousy Cuthbert felt towards Roland, for the fact that he got such a beautiful gal and also for the fact that he was being neglected by his best friend. They say man don't shed tears...but I found myself doing so unshamelessly at the part where Roland could only watch helplessly through the Wizard's Glass when Susan was burnt to death....the anguish, pain and torture. In Susan's death, King immortalised the undying love between Roland and Susan.

Summary: The book is NOT too long
Review: This book was wonderful, and the only reason I give it a 9 is because it's not quite as good as The Wastelands (which I think is the best book in the series so far). If one more person says that W&G was too long for having 700 or something pages (my friend borrowed mine, damn me, I want it back now), I will scream! After something like 5 years (once again, I can't check the date cause I don't have my book!) it isn't even NEAR long enough! Anyways, it was a great book and it was great to meet Roland's friends and see some of Roland's past that has made him the great man he is today. I just have one simple request - !!!!!!!MORE CUTHBERT!!!!!!!

Summary: The Dark Tower: The Lord of the Rings of this generation
Review: This book, the fourth in the Dark Tower series is one of the best books ever written. Along with the plot, what makes this book so good is its connections with other Stephen King Books. The Dark Tower is the point in existance where a dimensions connect, so it is fitting that there are so many connections with other books. The superflu from The Stand. Richard Fannin (RF), an incarnate of the villians from many of his other books. The Beast, the Keeper of the Tower, seems much like the Deadlights from It. We can expect more connections in future Dark Tower Books, and see how it all truely connects if Roland's companions conquer the Tower. King, hurry up and finish the Series. PLEASE?

Summary: Another great book
Review: This book was a really great one. Despite the bad reviews it has gotten on this webpage, the book undoubtedly connected the Roland of Gilead to the Roland first glimpsed on the trail of the dark man. The audience has had no idea what has shaped this character into a seemingly unfeeling, gun-toting, difficult SOB, but now we can see some of what has influenced his choice of the Dark Tower as his quest. Roland emerges as an empathetic character, to which most people can relate. We see the human side of Roland. Great job, Stephen King! This book advanced the character of Roland, if not the plot of the search for the Dark Tower. I can't wait until Dark Tower V comes out.

Summary: Stephen "KING" if the name fits, wear it.
Review: Stephen King truly is the best. The Dark Tower series is fabulous and, with the addition of Wizard and Glass, continues to get better. No story writer has the ability to grab your attention and pull you into a story better the Mr. King. Wizard and Glass took a detour into Roland's life and it was well worth the trip.

Summary: Spectacular!!!!!!!
Review: This is by far the best Stephen King book ever written. The Dark Tower Series is one of the best! It draws all of his books into one, interlocking all of the stories in your mind and following through never dropping you off the edge suddenly with an abrupt ending. When will the next in the series appear???????

Summary: Second only to The Stand
Review: This series has definately been his best work, with the exception of the Stand. SK should drop his other projects and finish this series! My addiction to all the Flagg stories demands to be fulfilled!!

Summary: spellbinding
Review: My review will add little over what others have written, except to indicate that I am amazed at the insight demonstrated in this sequel to the Dark Tower series. In particular I find it fascinating that King alludes to the Glass even in his Wasteland story, although briefly. Yet, he doesn't complete this fourth series for several years. I am amazed at his presence of mind to continue this story in the depth he does. Kudos to Stephen King - I agree that this series even tops "The Stand", one of the finest stories ever told. I eagerly await the next release.

Summary: MY least favorite of the four books in the series so far...
Review: Hi! I've read most of SKs books and i like most of 'em and love some. Just like many people i like the Dark Tower series a lot. This entry didn't quiet do it for me. It covers the time when the Gunslinger was young [14 years?!]. If u read part 1-3 u gotta read this one ... Maybe the story wasn't told all that well, maybe i just wanted to hear more about the current affairs.

Summary: Tolkein?
Review: Why is everything connected to Tolkein & friends? Every other review says that King is either better than Tolkein or that King doesn't deserve to lick his boots. If you love Tolkein so much, go reread Lord of the Rings and don't bother with King's books. It's not like King needs you as a fan. That goes for all the other writers he's been compared to (Heinlein, etc.) too.

Besides that, I think Wizard and Glass is a great book and I am looking forward to the next one in the series.
