Summary: This is one for the Business Book Hall of Fame
Review: One of the most helpful books I have read. Dealing with problems has never been this easy. I also bought the book on tape and listen to it every couple of months. If you own a business, manage people, or deal with customers then read this book. My people skills are much better now and, those task that I hated to deal with (like complaints and problem solving) are really no big deal anymore.

Summary: Thank you, Mr Carnegie
Review: A very useful book that arrived just in time. My last attempt at making a friend, failed. I was on the verge of despair and ready to ask my Aunt Frieda for help. She runs a support group for carnally obsessed shy elders. I didn't really fit into any of those categories, but, hey any port in a storm sort of thing. This book did the trick and now I'm leading the support group.

Summary: Ironically powerful and effective.
Review: When I first came across How To Win Friends and Influence People, my first thought was; "What a crock of _ _ _ _!" Then I met a guy named Barry. He was the best people person I had ever met. Interesting, he had been a employee of Dale Carnegie and
had been through all the trainings and read all of Mr. Carnegie's books. Needless to say, he highly recommended this book in particular and the Carnegie techniques.

How To Win Friends and Influence People is a powerful book loaded with timeless information. It made such a difference in my life that soon after reading this book, I recieved a promotion that I had been passed over for previously.

The only real power is PEOPLE POWER!! This book shows you to get that power.

Summary: Ironically truthful and deceptive.
Review: This book tells you the truth about life. "People are generally interested only in themselves, so if you act interested in them they will like you better". There's no denying that and if you apply these principles you will probably be more succesful in a business sense. The fact is that we can't force ourselves to be interested in someone else, so this book encourages you to be deceptive with a fake smile and flattering words. I would advise going to a local college and taking a few acting classes before attempting to apply these principles.

Summary: More than just getting along well with people
Review: I think the title of this book may be misleading in that just about everyone can get along with people, and win friends. The part of the title that most people was is the abaility to influence others especially in a way that makes them happy and willing to do what you ask.

As a supervisor for a department of 50 people, I found it was easy to get people to do what I asked them becuase I was the boss. After reading How To Win Friends and Influence People, I was able to get people to do what I asked not because I was there supervisor, because they wanted to.

In addition, I have always found that there are always some people (many times my supervisors) who completely lack people skills. Dale Carnegies book taugh me how to work with those people as well.

I highly recommend How To Win Friends and Influence People to anyone who wants to significantly improve their people skills and especially their ability to positively influence people.

Great book!

Summary: Still a winner. A must to develop people skills
Review: Dale Carnegie felt that success was only 15% ability and 85% on how you were able to communicate. How effectively we communicate dictates how effective we are in life.

How To Win Friends and Influence People is a must read for anyone who wants to achieve success.

Summary: GREAT book
Review: It is a GREAT interpersonal relationship book.
Use this book to become a leader and great communicator.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Sharpen your people skills
Review: I first read How To Win friends and Influence People when I was in high school and was then asked to do a report on it in class.
Carnegies book is oneof those books like Think & Grow Rich that has been around for a long time and has advice that is timeless.

After reading this book and doing my report, I became fascinated by the methodology offered by Carnegie. So much so that I began to apply the techniques...and they worked! My popularity increased dramatically, and I never had any problems with people.

Soon I began to share these ideas with others and everyone agreed that the techniques were remarkable to say the least.

How To Win Friends and Influence People is a must read for anyone who wants to be in a leadership role or anyone who comes in contact with people which is I hope everybody. It doesn't matter if you have little or no people skills or good to excellent people skills and would like to sharpen up. Carnegie's book is for you.

I also recommend Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to further enhance your people skills and achieve win/win relationships.

Please don't berate this book because it is old. The concepts are tried and true....timeless. I made it a habit of rereading this book at least once a year, usually right after Christmas and I never fail to pick up an idea or two. Remember, I've been reading this book now for over 20 years and I am still learning. If this is your first time, you are in for a real treat.

Summary: Best $8 ever spent
Review: You can't argue - if you get this book and don't like it you only spent $8.

I've gone through life so far with success in all areas except truely my relationships with others. I've been described as "tactless", "blatent" and "self absorbed" - all characteristics that can be great in developing a career, but certainly not when interacting with others!

I bought this book and it has transformed my ability to harness a previously untapped resource that is now in my life - other people. Following the principles of this book I've met many new friends and get along much better with those I already knew. It even helped me in meeting women in many cases.

This book isn't about superficiality, necessarily - a lot of the principles are just "duh, I should have known that" but I never did. Get this book, best $8 you could ever spend!

Summary: You'll want to read this first.
Review: A great book on how to get along with people using timeless principles- which explains why this book has been around for so long. An easy, entertaining read.
