Summary: Bodhipaksa Guided Meditation cd
Review: This is a perfect meditation CD. There is no music to distract you. This mans voice is calm and direct and leaves you plenty of time to experience what he says without rushing you. I wish he had more CD's on different Buddhist topics with guided meditations because I would buy them all.

Summary: Calmness, Awareness, and Love - right here!
Review: This is a truly great cd. I am new to meditation, but Bodhipaksa makes it simple and accessible. There is no background music (which is really a good thing), and his voice is very soothing and pleasant. He also allows you to count your breaths at your own pace, instead of counting out loud the entire time, which can make you feel rushed or distracted. The Metta Bhavana is my favorite. It helps you cultivate "lovingkindness" towards yourself and others, and it is very effective.
The title says it all: "For calmness, awareness, and love."
Bodhipaksa also has a really great website listed on the cd cover. I found very helpful information on meditation posture and other things.
I would recommend this to anyone interested in meditation. I can't say enough about it.

Summary: Stress relief in a jewel box
Review: This is hands-down the best meditation CD I've come across. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. It's not tarted up with hokey sound effects and New Age music but is simply the teacher's (very pleasant) voice, guiding you to calm and relaxation. His approach is highly accessible for Westerners and really taught me how to meditate. I'm such a big fan of this CD, in fact, that I've bought at least four to give as gifts to stressed-out friends and family members. (One of the recipients was a voice teacher who said she could listen to him all night.) If you like what you hear, you should also check out the outstanding online meditation courses he offers on www.wildmind.org. I can't recommend the CD or the courses highly enough.

Summary: Compassionate and Inspiring
Review: This meditation gently leads the meditator from tender concern for self to the picture of a golden light eminating from his heart to the heart of all sentient beings. Peaceful and loving.

Summary: a wonderful, simple CD
Review: When I purchased this CD for myself in a desperate attempt to learn how to relax, I don't know what I expected - funky new age music, perhaps an East-Asian accent, and possibly an uncomfortable experience while I learned how this all works. I was pleasantly surprised to find an elegant, simple CD with just the teacher's voice. A lovely, soothing, melodic Scottish voice, to be precise. A voice that guides you, slowly and simply, into a very relaxed and wonderful state. This CD is so wonderful, I've purchased about 5 copies and am ordering 3 more today.. all gifts to stressed-out friends.

Summary: Hesitant at first..
Review: When I read that it had no music, I was unsure. However, the reviews were so good I took the chance. As a beginner, I feel like it helps a great deal. Just when my mind starts to wander, he gently brings me back to focus on breathing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is just beginning or who would like to deepen their practice. Highly recommended.
