Summary: An Amazing Book, I'll Never Look At Wrestlers The Same Again
Review: First off let me say I'm a wrestling fan of about 12 years now. I've always had an enormous ammount of respect for Mick Foley, sure he wasn't a master technician like Bret Hart or an exciting high flier like Shawn Michaels, but when it came showtime if Foley was on the card, you knew you'd get your money's worth. I thouhgt the level of respect I had for Mick could not be raised any higher, then I opened this book. From the moment I started reading I couldn't put it down. Being an aspiring wrestler myself Mick's stories amazed me, how could a man take so much and still keep dreaming? Mick's toughness and courage is truly an inspiration and by reading this book I have gained more respect for him than one could possibly imagine. Along with gaining respect for Mick, I've gained a wealth of respect for anyone who gos through the grinds and makes it to the big time. If you a fan of Foley's this book is a MUST READ. If you are a fan of Professional Wrestling reading it will give you a whole new out-look on the sport.(and after reading these stories I can declare once and for all that pro wrestling is a sport and these men are athletes, the toughest of them all) Even if you HATE wrestling with a passion, this book can and will change your outlook on it. I've handed it to people who HATED wrestling and after reading a couple chapters they were hooked. Most of them now watch wrestling and take a guess who their favorite is? This book will make you laugh and it'll make you cry, but more than anything else, it will give you a newfound respect for Mick Foley and his fellow wrestlers.

Summary: This is a great book.
Review: I hate to use a cliche, but this book was riveting. A fascinating look into the life of my favorite wrestler and a personal hero. I couldn't put it down, and finished it in just over 24 hours. It is funny, sad, scary and totally engrossing. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to ANY fan of pro wrestling, even fans new to the sport. A truly awesome achievement for Mick Foley.

Summary: Mick Foley's life in and out of the wrestling world
Review: Mick Foley, to many known as Mankind is the author of this fantastic book. Mick not only talks about his job as a professional wrestler, but outside of the ring, his life as well.

From Mick skipping school to go see a wrestling event, to him even explaining why he lost part of his ear in a barbed wire wrestling match, and he still has part of that ear missing!

Foley not only is a amazing athlete, but a loving father to his two kids but also a loving husband as well.

Most fans only know him as Mankind, but trust me after you read this book, you'll know ALOT more about this man, besides his inring abilities. You'll what he went to to get to where he is today, his role when he was a kid and teenager, and basically everything that has happened to him since he was borned.

My hat goes off to Mick, who is truly an amazing human being. The hardcore legend of pro-wrestling, and surprisingly a very good writer.

This book is not just for wrestling fans, but anyone who wants pure enjoyment, this is a MUST BUY as it is well written and just a great piece of work. Thank you Mick Foley! All the best in the future for you.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: It took me days to read this book, because I just wanted to take it slow and absorb everything. I feel like I got to know Mick real well, and his story telling was excellent! Since he's only an hour away from where I live, I even thought of asking him over for dinner! The only thing I wish he would have talked about was how he reacted to booking decisions and what went through his mind when he won the world title. Definitely worth the money, and I'm glad I ordered early!

Summary: A must have for any wrestling fans !!!!
Review: This is the most amazing wrestling book I have ever read. It takes you behind the curtain to see what realy goes on in the world of wrestling. It takes you back to revisit the superstars of the 80's that we unfortunately lost. There should be a warning with this book, because it is very addictive. Once you start reading it, you cannot put it down.

Summary: Filling low expectations for non fans with improper jokes.
Review: This is a book that every time it starts to get an emotion out of you, there is suddenly a penis joke or a joke about homosexuals to get a cheap laugh. As Mick is one of my favorite wrestlers, and he seems to be so proud of the book, it saddens me that some of the greatest insight ever into the business that is professional wrestling also had to contain all of these unnecesary, vulgar comments. They distract from the content, and fill the low expectations of a non-wrestling fan. For God's Sake Mick, this is your life story! While penis and gay jokes may work on Monday Night Raw, where the viewer expects to find them, they do not pass for great literature, and they are certainly not something to be proud of.

Also, Mick Foley, while trying to portray himself as humble and greatful, shows his true egomanical core in this book. I used to believe he did those unbelievable stunts because he loved the pain, and he loved his job. Now I see that he did what he did because he wanted everyone to like him, and when they didn't, he blamed them. He seemed oddly bitter towards the fans after Hell In A Cell for not immediately flocking to him at his next autograph session, even though he was still portrayed as a heel.

Also, he forgot to mention the Slammies, where he first showed himself to be incredibly hilarious, dedicating his award to a man who was like a father to him, Aldo Montoya. That's what made me a fan, and I guess he doesn't recognize it as a turning point for him in the WWF.

Still, a great chapter about the death match tournament, as well as a beautiful and fitting tribute to Owen Hart, and a hilarious story about a match with Owen involving kicks to the butt, popcorn and Steve Austin cracking up makes the book almost worth it's price.
