Rating: Summary: Have a Nice Day.... Review: I am a fan of Mick Foleys',and have been for a while. I thought the book was very well written, and I was intriged by his articulate manner. It seemed as though, Foley would just grab your attention and not let go, but when you would reach the climax of the story he was telling or the situation he was describing it would be a let down. I was very discourged by the ending. It seemed to just end. I still have some unanswered questions. It just kinda leaves you hanging, but not enough to make me wanna purchase volume 2.
Rating: Summary: Foley is indeed god! Review: This book is absolutely brilliant! I'm only 14 so have never bought an Autobiography, but i am into Pro Wrestling so wanted to buy this gr8 book! You'll laugh at his stories of "Frank" (You have to buy the book to understand that joke!) And you'll wince at some of the pictures (Including one just after the infamous ear incident!) But most of all you'll admire this man for the achievement he's made in his life. Buy this book NOW!
Rating: Summary: Just another review Review: WOW! I'm impressed by both the sheer size of how many people reviewed the book and also by the average score of five stars! I just wanted to add myself to the list of over three hundred satisfied customers. Mick Foley truly is God. This book is absolutely amazing. I physically cringed whenever he described, with intimate detail, the pain he's been through. It's absolutely sickening in a strangely pleasant sort of way. Mick's truly paid his dues and this book proves it. Not only has he suffered over eight concussions, but he still retains the memories of his life to the point where he can churn out a book of outstanding magnitude. I honestly thought I was a fast reader, but I spent over a week reading and savoring this book. It is well-worth the cover price. In fact, it's worth twice the cover price. If you want a book that will make you laugh, cry, cringe, and cheer, then buy this book. It is worth every penny. Mick Foley is beyond God. He's the Hardcore Legend
Rating: Summary: MandKind Have A Nice Day Best Book I have read Yet Review: This book is the best book I have ever read. It tells the indepth story of not only Mankind but the true story of Mick Foley and what he had to do to become and achieve what he is today in the world of Sports-entertainment.The best thing about this book is that it was written from Mick Foley and came right from his hart. I recommend this book to Wrestling fans and Non-wrestling fans of all ages because it is not mainly about professional wrestling. It is about a man who has paid his dues to become what he is today.
Rating: Summary: The best biography I ever read Review: I have been a longtime pro wrestling fan. I love mick foley. I just bought the book and am not that far. From what i have read it is a very good book and is one of the best biographies I have read.
Rating: Summary: Greatest Book I've Ever Read Review: I'm not usually a fan of big, hard-cover books that are almost 600pgs. in length. But this one had got me hooked when I started on the first word on the inside flap of the book. This book is a must have for all wrestling fans, it's like their bible. Mick Foley tells his story in a great way. I was so hooked on this story that I finished it in 2 1/2 days and plan on reading it word for word again sometime in the near future.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: There is really not much more that I can say that all 376 people who reviewed this book before me have already said. I'm just adding my name just to give a potential buyer a 377th reason to buy this book. I'll admit that I'm a wrestling fan, but I was not very big on Mick Foley until I bought it. I bought to see the hoopla, and let me tell you, it was all that. I couldn't put the book down. It took me seven nights to read the book. The funny thing is that two morning afters (I read at night) I was late to school. Why? Because I stood up until 2 or 3 flipping page after page; through the trauma, the laughs, the tales, and the joys. I can't lie and say that this book has made me look at wrestler's in a different way. Oh Hell no. It has made me look at Mick Foley differently. I'm sure there are a lot of men and women in the wrestling industry that got red-carpeted to the squared circle. That's too bad for them, though. Their books are going to be a piece of boring trash unlike Foley's. Thanks Mick.
P.S. My only lowpoint of the book is that he hated my hometown, Fall River, MA because of the big reaction for Sable and not him. Mick, let me be the first and probably only to say, "Sorry." I guarantee that if you come with her again, at least one person will prefer you over her.
Rating: Summary: You don't have to be a fan to enjoy it. Review: My wife's the big wrestling fan in the house. (She wants a Chyna or Miss Kitty book...) That said, this book amazed me. First, it's extremely well-written, articulate and insightful. (You didn't expect that from a wrestler who acts like a maniac? Me neither.) This dooesn't feel like stuff added in the editing process, either. Nor is it filled only with boasting and fictional feuds. You not only get a feel for Foley's shtick, but for what parts of it are shtick, what parts of it are exaggerations of real-life personality, and what parts of it are real. Foley makes clear that while "sports-entertainment" is indeed largely planned and soap-operatic theater, the wrestlers are, in many if not most cases, also athletes whose bodies take a bigger beating than anyone playing in one of the Big Four sports. And... I like the guy. He writes with a tone that is infectious -- a joy and a dedication, with the simultaneous beating hearts of a loving father and an eternal teenager, shines through. Give it a chance even if you don't follow or like wrestling. The guy with the weird mask grows on you quickly.
Rating: Summary: The World's Best Book Review: I think Mankind really shows you the real side of Mankind. It was the most enjoyable book I have ever read. This one is a winner
Rating: Summary: A book not only for the typical wrestling fan Review: I was not a wrestling fan until I read Mick Foley's book. His book showed me that there is life outside of wrestling. I thought it was great the way he let us see inside his personal life whether it was embarrasing or emotional. I normally love to read, but with this book I couldn't put it down. I was even staying up way too late just to finish a chapter. It was great. If anyone wants to read a great book, buy Mick Foley's book.
