Rating: Summary: Have a Nice Day : A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks. Review: Mick Foley is a human being contrary to popular belief. his death defying stunts in the ring become less watchable as he describes his painful journey to the top of the wrestling world! Great Read!
Rating: Summary: A touching tale of blood and more blood Review: No other wrestler has impressed me like Mankind (Mick Foley) has. I was elated to hear that he was writing a book. From the minute I opened to the first page, I was enthralled. This man's life has everything that a Hollywood producer could ever hope for: lots of action, plenty of humor, and even love. He has a way of telling the story like the reader was sitting right next to Mick as it all unfolded. From the incident in Germany to defeating The Rock for the WWF title, Mick takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride that shows Mick's true character. He really shows his love and admiration for professional wrestling in this book, and the best part is that Mick wrote 100% of his book. The reader can really tell that Mick put his heart and soul into "Have a Nice Day." Mick masterfully retells the story that seems almost to entertaining to be true. Anyone can appreciate Mick Foley's colorful tale of "blood and sweatsocks."
Rating: Summary: The Hardcore Legend can write, despite all the chair shots Review: If you can get past the plentiful vulgarities, this book can be insightful for even non-wrestling fans. This is an excellent story about a man who is committed to what he loves: professional wrestling. He goes to any lengths to get closer to what he loves, whether by skipping college classes to see a live event or going to Dominic DeNucci's training school and sleeping in the back of his Plymouth Fairmont. He loves his sport just as much as he loves his wife, Colette, and his two kids, Dewey and Noelle. This is not just a story to cater to wrestling fans who have enjoyed every match of his, this is a true to life tale about a man who goes to great lengths in pursuit of what he loves, actually quite similar to some material seen in Shakespeare. Although Mick Foley may not be on a par with Shakespeare, his book is still a great read and I would recommend it for anyone who isn't bothered by vulgar words and can see the beauty behind it.
Rating: Summary: Mic Foley's book review Review: This book gave me a diffrent look at wrestling and the wrestlers. It can be enjoyed by more than just wrestling fans, because it is a story of a great person's life.
Rating: Summary: Wow, fantastic! Review: Have a Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and SweatsocksBy: Mick Foley Mick Foley has dreamed of being a professional wrestler all his life. He even skipped his final exams to attend a wrestling match. Finally he got his big break and was hired by ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling). He was a member of ECW but then he had a barbed wire match and lost one of his ears. He knew that he had to leave the ECW. Then he quit and was picked up by WCW (World Championship Wrestling). He spent many years there and loved every minute of it. He portrayed many characters like Cactus Jack, Dude Love, and Mankind. He then began to lose popularity so WCW fired him. He didn't know what to do. He was broke and out on the streets. He knew he had to wrestle again or find money somehow. But how would he accomplish this? Mick Foley wrote an incredible book. This was the first book he has ever before and it was outstanding. I think this book is good for high school students. It has some foul language that may not be appropriate for children under the age of 14. If you are a wrestling fan, then you will love this book. It shows the hardships of making it into professional wrestling. Some parts are hard to follow but the book flows well. I strongly suggest you read this book, you won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Have A Nice Retirement Review: I recently read Mick Foley's autobiography "Have A Nice Day", and I have to say that I couldn't put it down. It has alot of witty humor and is very interesting if you enjoy hearing about a great legend's rise to fame and fortune. It has some grusome content like him describing how he had his ear ripped off in a match in Munich, Germany. If you are looking for a book that will give you a good laugh, a good cry, and a good doorstop,(just joking Mick), then I strongly suggest this book.
Rating: Summary: Have A Nice Retirement Review: I recently read Mick Foley's "Have A Nice Day", and I literally couldn't put it down! This book has a lot of witty humor and a few dirty jokes. So before reading, remember that there is a few graphic parts in it. For example, he tells about losing his ear in a match in Munich, Germany. But i strongly recomend this book for any one who feels like a good laugh, a good cry, or just a good door stop.(Just kidding Mick.) But in all seriousness, this is a classic!
