Rating: Summary: Excellent companion to the series Review: Alias is a top-notch show. I was worried these books wouldn't live up to ther show. They really do. Any details coveres on the show are thoroughly maintained in the book. Plus, you get to hear Sydney's inner voice and what she's thinking. Very cool.I highly recommend the entire series.
Rating: Summary: Alias Recruited Review: Alias Recruited is an excellent beginning for the Alias series. This book gives insight into the life of Sydney Bristow before she finds out the truth about SD-6 and joins the CIA as a double agent. In the book, Sydney is a college student studying to be a teacher like her late mother. She is smart and studious, but is shy and doesn't have any luck on the dating scene. Her only close friend is her outgoing roommate Francie. Her father has always been distant. She feels like she doesn't belong and she can't do anything right. That soon changes when she is recruited by an organization that says they are the CIA. She finally excels at something and finds a place where she belongs. This book focuses on her life in college, her recruitment into SD-6, and her first 6 months in SD-6. It also introduces the characters of Francie, Noah Hicks, Sloane, and Jack Bristow. It is a must read for any fan of Alias.
Rating: Summary: A literary venture into a great TV series. Review: Alias Recruited, by Lynn Mason and based on the smash TV series by J.J. Abrams, was a sensational book. The Book not only answered questions that might have ever confused the fans of the TV series, but also opened the fans to a new world. Fans were used to watching the TV show, but are now able to read about their favorite characters. This book, a prequel to the show, brings the fans of the show into the mind of Sydney Bristow, the main character. There have been many people who have wondered what was going on with Sydney, all anyone ever saw was her character in situations, and they never got to get deep into her thoughts. The book follows Sydney through her training and to her first days as an operative. I highly recommend this book to any fan of the TV show. You get to go where the show never had.

Rating: Summary: Totally True to Sydney Review: As an ADULT reading a YOUNG ADULT novel, i felt a little funny & immature. However, this book was totally true to the character i have come to know and love in watching Alias on ABC that i so totally loved this book! it was really wonderful to read about who sydney was and what her life was like before we were introduced to her 2 1/2 years ago. to know the unsure, frustrated and humble beginnings she started out with. i think Lynn Mason has done an excellent job in sticking very tightly with the character created by j.j. abrams. there were moments in the book when i said to myself, "oh my gosh, i have totally heard sydney say that!" if you are an alias devotee, you will really enjoy this novel!

Rating: Summary: Really quick read because it's written at 8th grade level Review: Even though it's written at 8th grade level, it makes a lot of revealing psychological observations about Sydney. It's easy to think that she's always been confident, skilled, and sexy; the author didn't take the easy way and showed us a Sydney that evolves into the susperspy we know now. The book is fun to read and probably meant for high school girls; anyone, however, can benefit from the inspirational transition from gawky, rejected 18-year-old to confident young woman
Rating: Summary: Good Introduction of Sydney Review: I am a big fan of the ALIAS television series. So, I naturally had to read the book about how Sydney becomes a spy. The book introduces a shy, studious Sydney who is a freshman at UCLA. She has only few friends and spends most of her time studying. One day, Sydney is approached by a man who supposedly is a CIA officer. He is actually an agent for SD-6, a secret organization that has nothing to do with the CIA. After much thought, she decides to join the CIA. Her experiences and training slowly change the way Sydney thinks of herself and everyone around her. She gradually develops into a confident young woman by the end of the book.
This book was never part of the television series. The show begins after Sydney has already become a spy for SD-6. I recommend this book if you are interested how Sydney was recruited by SD-6 and if you want to learn more about Sydney the individual.
Rating: Summary: Sydney young and troubled Review: I didn't know what to expect from this book. I was pleasantly surprised to find a light but enjoyable read about how Sydney got started in the biz. It covers a lot of time, but it doesn't get bogged down with Sydney's training in KRAVMAGA fighting or her undercover training. Instead we see her BEFORE she gets recruited, then a glimpse of her burning up the charts as the most gifted recruit they've ever had, and then her first (sort of) mission. What impressed me the most was how dead-on the writer is at writing Sydney. I could just see her in my mind saying and doing all those things. The parts with Francie were fantastic and made miss the real Francie on the show even more. Since this had to develop the HOW and WHY she got started, it isn't as actionpacked as the other books (I read them backwards, so sue me). BUT I was amazed at how much I enjoyed it nonetheless. Lets face it, if you want non stop action watch the show. The books should (and this one really does)let us see her inner thoughts and fears.
Rating: Summary: Help With The Show Review: I found this book helped explain a little more about Sydney and actually put you in her head a little better. I would recommend reading this book to anyone who just began watching season 1 or even a confused person on season 3. I love the Alias TV Show and I think anyone else as obsessed as I am would love the novels from beginning to end.
