Rating: Summary: Wells' imaginative tale of a Victorian lunar expedition Review: While the work is sadly dated by modern sensibilities
(the moon has an atmosphere, among other problems) "From
the Earth to the Moon" remains one his more imaginative
works, mostly in his clever depictions of the Selenites
and their culture, which differs markedly from the movie
adaption by George Pal. Prof. Cavor and Mr.Bedford find
themselves deep in the bowels of the moon attempting to
elude the Selenites and launch their sphere to return to
Earth once again. Wonderful appendix on Selenite civilization.
