Summary: A FABulous Turn-the-Page ALL Night Kind of Story
Review: On the Friday before HOMEPORT will be released, I simply must issue this warning about HOMEPORT. Do not sit down to read this story if you only have an hour or so. Trust me. <g> It's one of those stories which will reach out and grab you by the throat & keep you reading until the absolute very end. I started reading this on a Saturday evening ... finished the wee hours of Sunday morning. It's that kind of story. Why? Miranda is a character with whom you can identify with ... she has challenge after challenge tossed at her ... and you want to see her overcome them. Then she gets involved with Ryan. Sparks fly. One heck of a relationship evolves. This is a story of love & hope. It's a story of relationships (not just that between Miranda & Ryan). You'll have suspense & mystery. You'll have laughs and tears. But more than anything else, you'll have a story that you CANNOT PUT DOWN ... a story that you'll want revisit again.

Summary: Brilliant work of romantic suspense
Review: Archeometrist Dr. Miranda Jones is summoned to Florence, Italy by her mother, the CEO of an art authenticating firm. Miranda assignment is to determine whether the newly discovered "Dark Body" is a genuine sculpture from the Renaissance. An acknowledged expert, Miranda proclaims the work is real, but also declares that it is also another masterpiece by Michaelangelo. When the media learn of her findings, her mother accuses Miranda of leaking them to the press to boost her already successful career. She returns home in disgrace. Her tarnished reputation takes another blow when a peer emphatically states that the statue is a clever fake.

Soon an Italian bronze is stolen from Miranda's work site, The New England Institute of Art History. However, the art expert does not connect this incident with the episode in Europe. However, master thief Ryan Boldari does see the link since he stole the piece in New England. He realizes that someone close to Miranda substituted a fake for the real thing after Miranda's appraisal was completed. The authenticator and the thief team up to find the originals and uncover the identity of the mastermind behind the plot. Their volatile relationship soon deepens into love, an emotion feared by both of them. Ryan also worries that an unknown assailant is professionally and personally trying to destroy his beloved.

HOMEPORT is another outstanding novel by the beloved, long reigning monarch of romantic suspense, Nora Roberts. Readers, who were spellbound by HOT ICE, a previous best seller, need to do read this book next because they will be awed by how the best just seem to get better. Anyone who reads this novel will marvel that the grand mistress' writing remains so fresh. The Roberts keeper bookcase wil have another addition to add to an already very crowded shelf.

Summary: Another good book from Nora Roberts
Review: From the author of Sanctuary comes a new novel guaranteed to thrill the fans who already have bought thirty-five million copies of her books-and have given her sixteen New York Times bestsellers!

The Maine air was bitter cold and frigid as Dr. Miranda Jones returned to the family home after a busy lecture tour. But her blood turned to ice when, out of nowhere, she felt a knife held against her throat.

The unseen assailant stole her bags, slashed her tires . . . and disappeared. Shaken and bruised, Miranda was nonetheless determined to put the assault quickly out of her mind. Then comes a distraction in the form of a summons to Italy to verify the authenticity of a valuable Renaissance bronze of a Medici courtesan known as "The Dark Lady." However, instead of cementing Miranda's position as the leading expert in her field, the job unexpectedly nearly destroys it when her professional judgment is called into question. Emotionally estranged from her mother, her brother immersed in his own troubles-and a bottle-Miranda, desperate to restore her reputation, has no one to turn to . . . except Ryan Boldari, a seductive art thief whose own agenda forces them into a reluctant and uneasy alliance.

Now, it has become frighteningly clear that the incident that day in Maine was not a simple mugging, and that "The Dark Lady" may possess as many secrets as its beautiful namesake once did. For Miranda, forced to rely on herself-and an enigmatic partner who offers her suspicion and an intoxicating passion-the only way home is filled with treachery, deception, and a danger that threatens them all.

Summary: Exciting read
Review: I loved it. Ryan was sexy and funny, I liked him from the start. And he and Miranda had good chemistry. Toss in a good plot and a witty dialog and as a result you have a wonderful book to curl up in bed with.

Summary: well...
Review: Love Nora, she's my favorite. But this one, not my favorite. It was a slow start, I had to make myself keep reading it. It picked up the pace in the middle and I started to really enjoy it. But, as with some other Roberts novels I've read, I just was not buying the "bad guys" motive. This one was a stretch. I found myself just thinking, ok, there's got to be more to it then that. But there wasn't.
But I still love Nora, she's the best! Pick up any of her "series" books, like the Irish Trilogy or the Chesapeake Bay saga, those are wonderful!

Summary: Exciting Romantic Novel - Highly Recommended
Review: Homeport is an exciting, intriguing romantic thriller that whets your appetite from page one. In this book Nora Robert's strengths are showcased really well - description that sets the scene and atmosphere, excellent characters and impeccable research.

The heroine of the book Miranda was very likeable. She was practical and intelligent and was a formiddable woman. I suppose she could be categorised as an `ice maiden' but she also had a soft side and was only aloof due to neglect from her parents. The hero Ryan Boldari was as hot as his name sounds! He was witty, charming, and the perfect man to bring Miranda out of her shell. The only thing I didn't like about him was the fact that he was a thief - not because he needs the money
anymore, or is doing it for a noble cause, simply because he likes to steal and is good at it. At one point his mother even says that stealing is his god-given gift and it would be a sin not to use it! What ridiculous logic! Also, at one point it was
mentioned about how he burgled houses in the past and this made me shudder as there are few worse things than coming home to find your house ransacked. Therefore I try to blank this out of my mind when I read this book so that I still like Ryan.

The best parts of the book are when the couple travel to Florence and the hilarious and snappy dialogue that they share in between. The murder mystery is also good and there is a surprise at the end that I liked. Overall Homeport is one of my favourite Nora Robert's books and one I like to re-read. It goes without saying that the ending was romantic, but this one was very special indeed.

This book was full of surprises, mystery, romance, and daring adventure as all Nora Roberts books are.
