Rating: Summary: One of her bests Review: Nora Roberts is a brilliant author and this is one of her best books. The idea behind the story is interesting and the hero has a dramatic flare. Ryan Boldari is one of her best men ever, easily as good as Phillip Chamberlain and Luke Callahan. Miranda Jones was a smart woman who helped the story along beautifully. I suggest you read it for yourself to form your own opinions.
Rating: Summary: Must read! Review: This book was great... Even though it wasn't like the McGregors (pure romance) the suspense was great, sex scences steamy and the romance was present. Nora Roberts is the best, she makes you fall in love with her characters even if they aren't conventional. I truly enjoyed the book and know you will too.
Rating: Summary: Not one of my Nora Robert's favorites Review: I loved SANCTUARY and MONTANA SKY, but I found HOMEPORT to be a major disappointment. There was just something off about the pacing. From the very first scene, it was difficult to get a handle on what the book was supposed to be ABOUT. I'm giving it 3 stars because Ms.Robert's actual writing was excellent as usual. It was simply the story structure and pacing that struck an off-key note with me.
Rating: Summary: Nora's Worst Work ever. Review: I generally like Nora's work, but found this book extremely disappointing. I kept reading, thinking it has to get better...WRONG!!!! This book was horrible, it was almost like reading someone other that Nora Roberts. Maybe she was having an off day when she wrote this book, everyone is entitled to one, let's just hope all the off days are OVER!!!!! I bought this book because of the on-line reviews, silly me, next time I will use my own judgment.
Rating: Summary: GREAT story line; this should be made into a movie Review: At first the title of the book can throw you off, however, this book has an amazing and orginal story line. The way everything was weaved in from the past with the technology and spy skills of today. I enjoyed the mixed lot of suspects and how the author gives you several chances to see the charaters at their best and try to figure out who was up to what. This book is prime movie material.
Rating: Summary: Good book. Review: This was my introduction to Nora Roberts and I found the book very interesting. She is called a "romantic" writer, but this book had mystery and intrigue and that is what I like. My one criticism is that I had hoped for a better resolution to the mother-daughter conflict. A simple pat on the shoulder or a hug or a compliment on how Miranda organized the art show would have done it for me, and I imagine for the many others who wanted some resolution to that conflict.
Rating: Summary: Don't bother Review: Well, if you like a hero who steals for money (no philanthropical reasons) and a heroine who grew up in a disfunctional family. Then you will enjoy this book. However, I found few reasons to admire the hero, and never connected with the cold heroine. Again the heroine's tormentor mysterious killings are the works of someone who is psychologically disturbed. If you must read all of Nora's books wait for the paperback.
Rating: Summary: 4 because of the last half Review: i did not like the first half of this book and questioned why i continued to read it. the answer was simply because it was nora roberts and i've loved *every* book by her i've read. the end more than made up for first half of this book and it is because of the end alone that im giving it 4 stars. if you can get past the first 15 chapters, you'll be more the rewarded....stick with it and it pays off ::smile
Rating: Summary: Very good romance Review: I'm not used to read romances, I read a bit of everything usually. This was my first Nora Roberts book, and I liked it very much. I especially liked the way she traces human feelings and personalities, without too much analyzing, just describing the human nature of all our human problems and affairs.
Rating: Summary: Suspense, intrigue... and steamy romance -- I love it! Review: Although author Nora Roberts is considered a romance writer, this particular novel has suspense, intrigue, mystery . . . and hot, steamy romance. The contrast between the stiff-upper-lip, high-bred female lead and the warm, italian passion of the male lead leaves no doubt that steamy nights are ahead. Throw in high-tech thievery, art forgery, and murder and you have the perfect recipe for a "nail bytin'" good time.
