Rating: Summary: Miranda and Ryan are first class. Review: Wow. That was the first word that comes to mind when I put the book down a few hours ago. I have just recently become a fan of Nora Roberts and I can honestly say that I have yet to be let down. These two characters were better than Gillian and Trace in Without A Trace. I never thought I could met such wonderful characters, but I certainly have in all the Nora Roberts books I have read. The suspense was mind boggeling and the romance receives five plus stars. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: Tantalizing, cannot lay it down! Review: Being a first time reader of Ms. Roberts style, I appreciated this fast moving story of intrigue, family, and New England scenery. The inside view of Art and galleries was really fascinating. I enjoyed the parlay of emotions between the characters and was guessing who the real "thief" was right up to the end. Thanks Ms. Roberts for a thoroughly entertaining book. I look forward to more of your works!
Rating: Summary: My First Nora Roberts Book Review: I selected Homeport at a book store on the Outer Banks, NC during vacation simply because it's set in Maine (a favorite place of mine) and had a lighthouse on the front cover! Although detailed and slow-paced in some places, Homeport has started me on a mission to read all of Nora Roberts' books! (So far I've read the Quinn brothers' trilogy (Inner Harbor, Rising Tides and Sea Swept) - and I rate this trilogy 5 stars because it's refreshing to have male characters featured in a romance series, Enchanted, and am now reading Daring to Dream. All of her books have been good escape reading with laughs, intrigue and romance thrown in.
Rating: Summary: Too Long - Again Review: Another endless book from Nora Roberts, although this one only took me two weeks to finish, instead of three months. It was ridiculous having a thief for a hero, and being an Irish-Italian person myself, I found the descriptions of the Boldari family unrealistic and insulting. I didn't find Ryan all that charming, and found the love/sex scenes sort of silly in their wording, which is my typical reaction to this author, so I skipped over most of them, not to mention that neither character seemed sexy. The only reason I'm awarding a second star is because I like the locations where the story was set.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully suspenseful and interesting Review: This is the Nora Roberts I love to read. The characters were very interesting and exciting. Couldn't put it down, then passed it on to a friend who also loves this author.
Rating: Summary: Great read!!!!! Review: I could NOT put this book down. I fell in love with both Miranda and Ryan. The back drop of art and history was what really hooked me. Just enough suspense and humor to keep you reading. I didn't want this one to end. Can't wait to read her next one.
Rating: Summary: Whew, I'm glad it's over! Review: I have read many of Robert's books and have been very entertained by all, but I have to agree with some of the others, this book was so boring. It took me months to finish this one, whereas It usually takes me a few weeks to finish her books. The plot and characters were just dull and predictable. I will however continue with Nora, this was my first dislike of all that I have read, afterall she can't please all of us!
Rating: Summary: Once you're in, you're hooked! Review: I agree with the readers who have said that this book was difficult to get into. I had trouble getting a fix on the heroine. She's strong. She's weak. She's annoying. However, when the hero comes back to town, she and the story become much more interesting. He's fun and sexy, not unlike [Robert's pseudonym] J.D. Robb's character, Roarke, in the "Death" series. This book kept me second-guessing and rethinking until the end. Instead of tossing it aside after the first couple of chapters, stick with it and get to know the characters. If you're a Roberts fan, you'll be glad you did!
Rating: Summary: Very dyamanic!! Review: Ms. Roberts' Homeport is a little hard to get through at the begining but after the first few chapters, it gets much more easier to get into the plot of the book. A wonderfully long and still mysterious yet lovely story . Keep it up, Ms. Roberts. I'm a major fan of yours. Those of you who like long books will love it. (smile)
Rating: Summary: Booooorrring! Review: It was so hard to get into this book. The beginning was dull, even with the attack. I havent even finished the book. I happily tossed it to the side, after trying again to read on. No luck. It's collecting dust as I type this. This was my first Nora Roberts book and I was deeply disappointed. I will stick with Barbara Delinsky.
