Rating: Summary: The first nora roberts i ever read Review: I am 14, all y life i have hated books because they seemed boring. until i started to read romance books. I started with ictoria holt and gt hoked. after reading all 30 victora holt books this summer i picked up a different author i don't recall the name of her but it was he orst book i ever read. then last week i walked into a book store and fond nora robert's book, "Homeport" I couldn't put in down i read from 11 am till my parents made me go to bed at 2am and tretene to take the book away. This book has romance suspence and some of the sences are really funny. I remember one part in the book when ryan and Miranda were leving his mm's house and see said to him" Your mom asked me why weren't haveing sex?" he replied, " i ask my elf that all the time". This book I hily recomend for teens and adults. I plan to read all the nora roberts books.
Rating: Summary: disappointed Review: I've been a fan of Nora Robert's for more than 10 years. Most of her books I've read multiple times, and enjoyed each re-reading. This one I read once, and barely finished it. The characters lacked the depth that one expects from Nora Roberts. She thrust them into danger and, instead of sitting on the edge of my seat in suspense, I really didn't care what happened to them. The characters in some of her early Silhouette novels have more depth and personality than what's-his-name and what's-her-name from this book.
Rating: Summary: Not very well developed, particularly at the end. Review: I was initially interested in how the author would resolve the book considering the main character fell in love with a thief. The ending, however, was particularly disappointing. The author resolved the story in a way that had little to do with the rest of the book and included family relationships that were not developed well. Furthermore, the conclusion of the book was simplistic and unrealistic to say the least. Although I recognize that people do not read romance novels because they are realistic, I have certainly read romance novels that were better developed and more thought-provoking.
Rating: Summary: Miranda's Affairs Review: Dr. Miranda Jones loves her work. She is one of the Joneses from Jones Point. Her work involves artwork ... not prints or copies but the original artwork. Arriving home after a lecture she is deeply disturbed when someone steals her bags and slashes her tires. She tries to move on, to put it all behind her and throws herself into her work ... but that isn't hard when she is asked to verify the authenticity of a bronze. She does and revels in the fact that it's the orginial. But a strange thing happens. Someone else does tests to see if the bronze is real and it leaks out that it is a fake. Miranda's reputation comes into question and she denies that it's a fake. Her brother, Andrew stands by her as she has stood by him time and time again. One day she goes to his office and meets the smooth, dark, handsome Ryan Boldari from Boldari Gallery. Right from the moment they meet unwanted sparks fly. Later on a bronze is stolen ... what Miranda discovers about her smooth Ryan will shock her and lure her in deeper than she ever wanted to go ... but something secretly inside her desires things she thinks she won't ever be able to have ... but will she never get them? I don't think so! It all started when she had had her bags stolen and when she finds this out it will force her to face reality and the dark promises that come along with that. This is a great read and if you want surprises, mystery, romance, and daring adventure I recommend this book to you!
Rating: Summary: Good summer reading Review: I am a Nora Roberts fan. This book is entertaining. The romance between Ryan and Miranda is fun. Also,it is a good mystery for budding enthusiasts. There is a soupcon of information on the Italian Renaissance for added flavor. I sure would like to visit Florence. I plan to lend this book to a friend who will be vacationing in Italy next year.
Rating: Summary: Amusing mystery Review: I really enjoyed this book. Although it followed a typical mystery pattern it was amusing and mysterious at the same time. I kept guessing who the culprit was until the very end because different people were made to look guilty throughout the book. I was happy with the ending and thought it was well written. The only thing I couldn't seem to find an answer to was the reason for the title of the book.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down Review: The suspence was great! I stayed up until 1:00a.m. to finish it. It had me guessing "who done it" pretty much up to the end. A perfect combination of mystery and romance. Being from Maine, I appreciate the acurate references to the real locations in the story. I am definately hooked on Nora Roberts.
Rating: Summary: Nora Roberts does it again! Review: I can't think of a Nora Roberts book I haven't enjoyed. I am always amazed that she can capture my interest every time. This book not only gives the thrill of romance, it gives you an insight to the world of art, art history and art science. I loved it. Thanks Nora!
Rating: Summary: Homeport Review: "Homeport" tells the story of Dr. Miranda Jones, a cold-on-the-outside but warm-on-the-inside art historian whose family name is synonomous with art and relics. Her parents are cold and remote, but all the same she has entered the family business and has carved out a name of her own. Into this scenario steps Ryan Boldari, a handsome, charming, family man who happens to be an art thief. Together he and Miranda must find out who is trying to steal a priceless statue and ruin the Standford-Jones reputation. This book provided a wonderful romantic story, with a strong heroine and an equally strong (not sappy) hero in Ryan. Some of the most heartwarming parts were the most realistic -- Ryan taking Miranda home to dinner with his family, Miranda simultaneously heartbroken for and furious at her alcoholic brother Andrew (in fact, I'd love to see a sequel on Andrew sometime). All in all this was a very enjoyable read.
Rating: Summary: Excellent and intense Review: Excellent heart-touching novel. Deep characters, vivid scenery and mistery, amazing love and romance. It's all in here. Your will really get touched with the relationship between Miranda and Ryan. Superb!
