Rating: Summary: Homeport Review: The book is great---but the book tape has many faults, had I listened when I first got it I would have returned it.
Rating: Summary: My First and My Favorite Review: This was the first novel I read by Nora Roberts and it got me hooked!!! I loved the characters and the interaction they all had. Miranda and Ryan were unbelievable!! Since I read this book I have yet to stop reading a Nora Roberts book, they just get addicting. I was never a fan of romance novels but this one got me hooked. But this is such an enjoyable read and fun, what other book wants to make you smile, laugh, and sometimes yell at the characters, that's what good writing is all about!!!
Rating: Summary: Nora Roberts is Wonderful- As Always Review: This was not a sloppy in your face romance for sex sake book. Miranda and Ryan are wonderful. In true Nora Roberts style the magic is believable and the mystery is thrilling. Once again, I hate to see her books end.
Rating: Summary: Homeport Review: This is my all time favorite book! I just love the way it was written. The charaters seemed so realistic and the scenarios were very real. I love Italy too. It was very cool. I also love books that have happy endings, I truly hate books that don't. This book could not have ended better if i had writtenit myself. I have read this book over and over it gets better everytime. I fell inlove with this book.
Rating: Summary: a great book Review: This book is a page turner and I couldn't put it down. I was even reading it when I should've been working. It has an intense plot and the chemistry between Miranda and Ryan is HOT!! It's a must read.
Rating: Summary: Once upon a time in the art world.... Review: Ho hum. This is an easy read, and though the characters are lively and real, the plot lacks depth. The theme of the story is there, the plot is a good one, but the author doesn't pull it off. There is drama and adventure, as there should be when a notable scientist joins an art thief to save her reputation, but I could not get excited about any of the scenes. Miranda Jones is an excellent scientist in the art world, her specialty being that of authenticating some of the oldest and rarest pieces in the world. When her authentication is proven a failure not once, but twice, it begins to look as though someone is out to ruin her name. Then the ominous faxes begin to come in, threatening and evil, but she shows them to no one at first. Enter Ryan Boldarri, also of the art world, and a good love story, and you have the two of them joined at the hip to solve a mystery. Throw in a few unexplained deaths, some off site characters, and a mixture of romance, history, and mystery, and that is our novel. Sound good? It is. Except, I could not help but think that had it been written by someone other than Nora Roberts, it would have enticed me more and been a stronger page turner.
Rating: Summary: Good read Review: Eventhough I loved Miranda and Ryan, I was actually more hooked with Miranda's brother Andrew and Annie. I wished Ms. Roberts wrote more about them. They looked so good together. She was his rock through it all.As for the story, it was intriguing...a fine and proper scientist found herself being partnered with an art thief to solve a case which endangered her credibility. A good read indeed.
Rating: Summary: My first Nora Roberts... Review: Vivid characters. Loved Ryan and Miranda together. I will definitely read more of Roberts - found myself already collecting several of her books.
Rating: Summary: My first Roberts read Review: I was given this book as a gift for Christmas, and I must say, it's not in my usual genre. I usually read historical romances, but do enjoy other types of novels. This book held my interest pretty well, but I found the dialogue unnatural and strained and the characters trite, although I did enjoy Ryan Boldari. Even Ryan's family were caricatures! My biggest criticism of Ms. Roberts is that she "tells" instead of "shows", a real rookie mistake and quite aggravating to intelligent readers.
Rating: Summary: I'm Hooked Review: I am also a first time reader of Nora Roberts. My mother-in-law suggested I read this one and I just couldn't put in down. I loved Miranda and Ryan together so much so I found my stomach in knots with every turn of the page. I never knew what was going to happen. I would definitely suggest this one to any first timer to Nora Roberts, you'll be hooked. I can't wait to read my next one!
