Rating: Summary: Very informing Review: I like this story because it tells me of my past history. The story is very imformative. I think it is a wonderful biography and it is well detailed. It travels from her childhood to her adulthood, showing her trials and tribulations.
Rating: Summary: Incredible Review: As a white teenager I didn't realize how incredibly sheltered I am untill I read this book. Great read. Great story. Good writing style. Check it out!
Rating: Summary: Auto/biography fact or fantasy? Review: Maya Angelou's 'Caged Bird' is an autobiography in spite of the fantasies within it. There are moments when the reader is asked to become more objective than Maya herself is, as she accepts that her brother Baily made ice-cream out of snow which is not possible. Autobiography is a problematic form of literature as it is hard for an author to remember, distance and understand events in their lives which shaped them. You must read it for youself to understand. It is a cracking fictionalised version of Maya's life!!!
Rating: Summary: Maya raped at eight Review: ye

Rating: Summary: Maya Angelou's novel was very entertaining. Review: We did a collaborative review for our 9th grade Honors English class on I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou. We all had slightly different opinions about the book, but overall we all enjoyed reading it. The adventures in her life not only amazed us, but entertained us as well. We liked reading about her struggles, strifes, and accomplishments. Angelou did a great job of displaying the racism of America and the "difference" between blacks and whites. The struggles of understanding herself and her family were portrayed in the interesting novel. We recommed it to anyone interested in African-American history.
