Summary: Tough to Put Down
Review: I found a lot of truth in "the Perri's" observations of human nature and legal proceedings. A true legal thriller from a woman's perspective. I stayed awake too late at night, because I couldn't put it down. Very entertaining.

Summary: Exciting, entertaining, excellent!
Review: I have been a Nina Reilly fan since the first book and the series just gets better! This latest story keeps your interest all the way through and you feel Nina's happiness as well as her sorrow, fear etc. Great plot, great writing and a thrill to read after having been disappointed by the latest Patricia Cornwell. I'll buy the next Nina Reilly book for sure!

Summary: The Nina Reilly series just keeps getting better!
Review: I have read all five Nina Reilly books and agree that this is the best so far. The authors very deftly bring Nina's life outside her law practice into the story allowing readers to learn more about her and the people around her without loosing any of the previous books legal edginess. As Nina spends more time with her client and those people who know him best, the situation becomes more than an ethical dilemma - it is a matter of life and death for her and her loved ones.

My only complaint is this: I consider myself well read and with a fairly sophisticated vocabulary, however, I found myself looking up at least ten words in my thesaurus. I welcome this kind of challenge when I am reading scholarly books, but find it annoying when I'm just reading for pleasure. Granted, the meaning of all of these words was apparent in the context of the sentence, it just seems to be an unnecessary hindrance that doesn't belong in pop fiction.

OK, off my soapbox. I am anxious for some of my reading friends to perhaps help fill in some big blanks in the story for me. I won't mention them here for fear of "spoiling" the read for someone else, but there are some unanswered questions.

Summary: One of my new favorite authors!
Review: I have read all of the books in the Nine Reilly series. They just keep getting better and better. I read this one in just two days and have already passed it one to a friend to read. I just wish the next one would come quickly!!

Summary: Motion To Supress
Review: I have read two of the books that were written by Mary and Pamela O'Shaugnessy and they are terrific. I am in the process of reading the book Invasion of Privacy now. i came online to order the Obstruction Of Justice but i see they have another new book out now and i will order that one at the same time. this will make all 5 of there books that i now own. I cant wait for there next bok to come out. The courtroom drama is always excellent they mix in just the right touch of excitement. Like i said i cant hardly wait for there next book to be written.

Summary: A lot of soap opera, a little legal thriller
Review: I listened to this book as an abridged book on tape and I'm hoping some of the problems I have with the book were really due to the abridgement.

Problems:

1. her son Bob - he never speaks. He never does anything but be the perfect son who never, ever does anything wrong while mom sometimes spends outrageous hours out of the home. Watch out for this kid - he's going to be trouble!

2. Her son Bob says nothing, nothing at all about mom getting married to a man she just started re-dating while he's off on a trip to Germany (apparently unplanned since the tapes bring it up as he's packing the day before).

3. I don't know about you, but I think it would be pretty unethical to start dating the prosecutor during your defendent's murder trial.

4. The book spent much more time on the character's conflicted feelings (not conflicted about how this affair would affect her client's case, mind you, just hot and bothered about dating this man again)and not much on the case. If the story had focused, a 3 hour book on tape would have lasted about an hour. That means I was listening to 2 hours of romance novel on tape! Aaaargh!!

Summary: Another typical courtroom book? NOT!!
Review: I must say this has to be O'Shaughnessy's best work yet. I picked this book up thinking it would be just another courtroom book that wouldn't hold my attention for more than five pages. I was all wrong. O'Shaughnessy has put together a modern-day courtroom masterpiece. Well written, with lots of twists and turns to keep you wondering whose telling the truth. A great page turner. There were several times when I found myself up until 3 a.m. reading, not wanting to go to sleep without knowing what will happen next. If you enjoy all of O'Shaughnessy's works, you will love Acts Of Malice. I know I'll be picking up the next Perri O'Shaughnessy book.

Summary: This is the BEST one YET
Review: i started reading these books with the second book in the series. i was so hooked that i read the first one. this book is the best nina reilly yet !!!. not technically a what-is-the-answer type of book, this one explores the ethical dilemmas lawyers have to deal with on a daily basis - both personal and professional. i can't say too much or i'll give away the story, but out of the 5 books, this is my favorite. if you love nina reilly, you will love this book

Summary: If you enjoyed the previous books , AVOID this book!
Review: I used to look forward to the each Nina Reilly mystery. No longer. The Sisters must have mortgage problems, and this latest sample is very very below par. Ms Nina's love interest, although connected to the plot by a weak 'conflict of interest' angle, comes across as pedantic and insipid. I couldn't wait to get through these parts. And the ending is an unpleasant mishmash of 'enough pages, enough money, see you later' completely out of character with what this series once was. Unfortunately, I now have one less book to look forward to. Too bad.

Summary: Not their best effort
Review: I was extremely disappointed in this legal "Thriller". I read Breach of Promise and thought it was outstanding, but this one did not come close to matching up. The sub-plots lag and take away from the main story. The book could have been 150 pages less and probably much better. The characters were not particularly well drawn and there was little suspense. If you want a straight LEGAL THRILLER, this is not the book. If you want a legal thriller with some drama and romance, this could be an option for you. At best, with all the good thrillers out there, this one is average.
