Summary: Rediculously dumb boredom
Review: A few messages back, you can read a great post by someone who think no book can be boring. Well, obviously he was overwhelmed by the simplicity and made-belief wisdom of this very boring book. and it is boring. extreamly boring. Painfully boring. And it's stupid, too. The message is blunt ' Killing is bad. BAD. BAAAAADDDD.' like, DUH.

Read Catch22, read For Whom The Bell Tolls, read A Picture of Durian Grey. BUT unless you're a masochist, don't read this.

Summary: Simply incredible
Review: This is my all time favorite book. Fyodor Dostoevsky writes the inside of a psycos mind so well its frightening.

Summary: ONE OF THE MOST ASTOUNDING NOVELS EVER WRITTEN!
Review: There are two types of great novels. There are the ones that are driven by an important message; a novel that leaves it's message with you long afterwards. And then there are the novel's driven by a compelling story and great characters that you can completely lose yourself in. "Crime and Punishment" is both! I am amazed that some people found this novel boring. Dostoevsky brilliantly balances his ideals of social classes and justice, along with a story that always has an exciting new twist just around the bend. I was completely taken in by that moment when Sophia is being framed by Raskolnikoff's sister's despicable fiance, Peter Looshin; only to have Sophia's innocence proven at the last moment and Looshin's plan to backfire on him. This exciting moment proves that Raskolnikoff's mother, Pulcheria, is wrong when she says she believes there is no justice in the world. Dostoevsky is probably the gretaest author that ever lived, and this book is Dostoevsky at his finest.

Summary: BORING????
Review: Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and just because something is considered a classic doesn't necessarily mean one has to like it. We aren't robots. What appalls me however, is how often I hear many young people and adults for that matter, using the word boring when reviewing a book. I am so grateful that my parents didn't allow me to use that word without a reprimand. My mother, a voracious reader, always told me "David, if you're bored your're boring". I always got on the defensive when told this. As I grew older I began to understand what she meant. On a planet with so many books to read and so many ways of looking at what the books are saying, how can anyone ever be bored? If a book doesn't interest you, put it aside and don't read it, but please, never call it boring.

Summary: The most brilliant book I have ever read...
Review: The length of the book could be intimidating at first. Yet, once you get into the first couple pages, you could barely stop. Raskolnikov is the greatest character of all time...

Summary: Yes, I actually read it by choice -- AND I LOVED IT!!!
Review: Ignore the length of the book. Ignore the fact that it was written in Russian. The translation is GREAT!

The author is able to examine the human psyche in a manner no other author (to my knowledge) has ever been able to accomplish. The mental anguish R suffers is truly incredible. My heart was beating alongside his!

This is a GREAT novel. Did I mention it was GREAT? GREAT! Buy it now, and read it!!!! Unless you can find a beat up edition on sale at the library for 50 cents like I did initially, BUY IT AND READ IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: UNBELIEVABLY BELIEVABLE!
Review: It is immense, unrelenting, potent and chilling, The scenes are motionless yet incredibly thrilling For those few months I lived in Raskolnikov, And,when finished,my shoulders felt the weight come off.... To rid the world of crime forget the police, prison, the debate on Capital Punishment... just issue everyone with a copy of C&P. It shows that the ultimate enemy of you is yourself. The book is an illness that lives with you, on your shoulders wherever you are, whatever you are doing. It is not pleasent- only the strong-willed will manage it_ but the experience it gives you is the equivalent of 30 years of life.

Summary: This the most amazing psyhcological story ever.
Review: Although Dostoevsky occasionally gets off track, the end result of the story is thought provoking and amazing.

Summary: It is a crime that I was punished by this wordy tripe!
Review: After reading this indulgent garbage I had to bore a hole in my head with my 7v Black and Decker cordless drill. This trefening technique will be of use to you should you make the fool hearty decision to read C n'P.
