Summary: Looking Forward.
Review: I have enjoyed this last book, in the series as well as the first one. I had always wondered about the Last Days. These books have helped me a lot. It is very sound in letting us know as the Bible teaches us that a lot of people will lose their lives in the last days. This book is full of suprises. I did not want to see Richard Steel taken from the fight here on earth. But, no one person can not, not be replaced. Even Moses did not make it to the Promised Land.
I think that these writers are doing a great job. They keep it interesting and the readers undivided attention. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I pray that they continue on and take us into the thousand year reign of Christ, and also give us their take on heaven itself.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to have my say. Keep up the good work. I have read almost every book by these two great men of God. I am looking forward to the next issue.
Thank you....

Summary: What is the problem?
Review: This book was typical Left Behind. Fairly light reading with enough suspense woven in to keep me interested.
I know these authors have recieved a lot of criticism from readers who think the series has gone on long enough, or who think the books themselves are too simplistic. But I think maybe they are supposed to be this way.
The general public does not read at a college level, and the way these books are written make them all the more accessible for everyone. If the plotlines and characters were more complex, and the theology not comprehensible for anyone without background in theology, or if these authors had come up with just one large book, I believe this would have been a turn off for those already Christian, and those who aren't but are curious.
I think these authors have done a very good job with this series.

Summary: Packed with excitement!
Review: I am an avid follower of the left behind series, I can say that this book is one of the best book i ever read. A must read, well, you have to start with book one. I can't wait for the next book ("Glorious Appearing").

Summary: The next to last battle!
Review: Wow....... I have never seen so many bad reviews for any of the "Left Behind" books. But a good many people have taken the authors to task for this book.

And I almost understand why they have. Unlike all 10 of the previous books, "Armageddon" did not capture me from the very beginning. There were many times during the course of reading the first half of the book that I wanted nothing more than for it to end.

However, about halfway through the book my attention was finally captured and I was hooked for the remainder of the book.

"Armageddon" begins where "The Remnant" left off, with New Babylon in total darkness. As Nicolae Carpathia prepares to move the upper levels of his one-world government out of New Babylon, the main Tribulation Force safe house in San Diego is in danger of being discovered, forcing the occupants to quickly flee to Petra and the safety the Lord provides there. Unfortunately, the relocation comes at the cost of Tribulation Force lives.

As the battle of the ages begins, more Tribulation Force members will lose their lives, and another will be hanging to his life, literally. The final couple of days before Christ's Glorious Appearing will be radically altered for those who are left behind.

And for those of you who are ready for the next (12th) book to be the last one in the series, I've got bad news for you. Several Christian news sources are reporting that the authors have decided to add a 13th book to the series, supposedly covering the final war between good and evil that will take place at the end of Christ's 1000-year reign on earth.

I'll be looking forward to it.

Summary: More Padding Than A Sealy Posturepedic
Review: From the first book to the latest, it's evident that the authors had one thing in mind: Money. The entire series could have been condensed into three (at the most) books. LOTS of padding. To demonstrate; While reading a chapter, I stopped halfway through and started reading the next chapter. Once I finished it, I went back and completed the previous chapter. The result? I DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING RELEVANT TO THE STORY!

The story is good, but the writing is horrendous.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I was thoroughly disappointed with this book. What I thought was going to be the final apocolyptic battle between good and evil was never contained in this book. It's just more of the same: the Trib Force evades the GC and changes hiding places. They kill off three of the main characters and finish it right before the battle reaches its climax. This was done so that people have to buy the next (and final, thank God) installment of the series. Left Behind has gotten rather old and repetitive and when they pulled this stunt, it just plain ticked me off.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: more of the same.
Review: I like the story, but I'm tried of the time it takes to tell it. I wish the writers would rewrite the story in a thousand page novel. I hope the next book is better.
If anyone out there likes a great 'good against evil' story, I have the book for you. THE FIST OF GOD by A.T. Nicholas. It is incredable and well thought out. I was deeply moved by the character James Rood. I loved it. The story and the images stay with with you long after the read.

Summary: Usual Hard to Put Down Read
Review: This is the next-to-last volume of the story of the Tribulation Force, a group of holdouts from the ne world government headed up by Nicole Carpathia, a.k.a. the antichrist. Having followed them through the previous twelve books, we find them drawn inevitably to the Middle East, along with all the armies of the world. The ultimate apocalyptic battle of the ages is shaping up. The setting is the last year of the Great Tribulation, i.e. before the end of the world as we know it and the return of Christ for a thousand year reign. Some of the characters we know and like the best are in mortal danger, and the authors are not afraid to kill some of them off as various forces converge on them. No one is safe any longer, not family, friends or great leaders.

This is the usual hard to put down work of the past ten volumes. It didn't lose the inertia of the first ten. If you liked the first ten, you won't be disappointed. You'll like this one just as much.

Summary: Can't wait until the series ends!
Review: I have to admit that I got hooked on the Left Behind series with the first book. I really couldn't put it down! The second book was decent; then starting with book 3, I found myself literally skipping several pages at a time or falling sleep during reading. I began to complain to my husband about how horrible the quality of the books have gotten. We complained to each other about how the writers are exploiting the whole thing--filling pages with useless dialogue, big font and huge margins and being repetitive till Kingdom Come (yes, pun intended).

After the 7th book, I wanted to stop reading because of the disgust I felt for the books and the writers, but I felt I couldn't because I had invested so much time into reading them. So I continued and after each new book, my poor husband (he had stopped reading at book 4) got an earful from me--until now.

The latest book, for which I'm writing the review (I promise I'll get to it--finally!), was actually, pretty good. Maybe it was because the believers were in their final stage of the battle and Christ would be coming back soon or because that signifes the fact that there would be only ONE MORE BOOK!! Perhaps it was the combination of the two.

I gave the book 4 stars because it was easy reading and because it was A LOT better than its 8+ predecessors. The story lines were better (some people die!) and there seemed to be less fillers. It made me think about my spiritual life and the urgency of having people accept Christ. It almost felt like the way I felt when I was reading the first book. Well, almost. So take it from me--a die-hard criticizer of the Left Behind series--no matter how disappointed you were with the other books--I think this one is worth reading. I promise.

Summary: Excellent continuation of a great story
Review: I read this whole book in less than ten hours. It is filled with tension and very well written. The sudden ending left me awed. I haven't yet read some of the other end-times series like "Conquest of Paradise", but I hear they also are good. The Left Behind audio dramas are also quite impressive. This book covers almost the entire final year of the tribulation. Only one original member of the Tribulation force is left alive now with the Glorious Appearing only hours away. Book twelve, the final book in the series, is due in the Spring of 2004. I can't wait!
