Summary: A Book Recommendation for "Left Behind" Readers
Review: As a minister, I am always enthusiastic when I recommend (from the pulpit or anywhere else) the wonderful series of "Left Behind" books, which of course focus on the last book of the Bible, Revelation as its text. For all of us who appreciate these books, I recommend an excellent book about the first book of the Old Testament.
Dennis Shulman's "Genius of Genesis" is a reverent and beautifully-written description of the glory of the Book of Genesis; and was an excellent text for our church's spring book discussion circle.
If you want to truly understand the Bible, from its last words to its first, read the "Left Behind" books and "The Genius of Genesis."

Summary: FICTION, pure and simple
Review: It disturbs me that many people seem to take these books literally, which is why I gave it only 2 stars . . . a good, thrilling, FICTIONAL representation of revelation, yet it is in FACT, fiction, people. Please stop saying things like the books make you feel happy you're "SAVED". People who "BELIEVE" in these book also probably believe WMD's will be found . . .

Summary: Romanian Anti-Christ?
Review: i haven't read the series yet and probably won't given that i now know that the anti-christ happens to be romanian. i too am romanian, born in the carpathian mountains and my middle name is nicolae. i'm sure the authors didn't mean that the actual anti-christ, when he does make himself known will be from romania, but just want all the readers out there to know that there are some good nicolaes born in the carpathian mountains in romania. that's all i have to say about that. enjoy reading the books though.

I do have to add, though, that I have browsed through the pages and actually found this series to be very plain and simple. For all those who like to use their brains, don't read these...however, if you want to vegitate, this is the perfect series for you.

Summary: Taking Christians money or just had to fill a series quota?
Review: Being a Christian and completely fascinated by the end times. This series (Left Behind) started off with power, excitement, and what seemed like a inspired desire to tell this magnificent story. Unfortunately, as the series progressed it seemed the authors slowed the story considerably with each book.

This latest book in the series is a poor excuse for an installment. It seems like the authors are doing everything they can to ensure they produce 12 books. I can't tell whether it's because they want to milk the Christian community for another $29.95 or if they are against a commitment to the publisher.

Armageddon (Left Behind #11) has put me in the position that I can no longer recommend this book series to the saved or unsaved of this world. I understand that the authors may be trying to "thin" the story out to reach as many as possible but seeing their work as a witness to their faith...I certainly wouldn't be converted.

If you wish to read a great series on the End Times please purchase "Christ Clone Trilogy".

Summary: Left behind wanting more
Review: I'm still a fan of the series, but for those readers like me who are left wanting more, I highly recommend Steve Alten's latest thriller, RESURRECTION, part of his DOMAIN series. RESURRECTION kept me turning pages like the first books in the Left Behind series did!

Summary: That will be enough guys....
Review: Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Lahaye, please stop pumping out this crap. This is like a bad Michael Crichton/Clive Cussler series for southern fundie conservatives. You're making Americanized christianity into an even bigger joke than it already is.

I have a Newsflash for you Left Behind fans: People of all cultures all over the world have been predicting the end of the world since the beginning, and you know what? It hasn't happened yet, nor will it happen for a long time, and it definitely isn't going to happen like this. The fate of the human race doesn't rest on Judeo-Christian beliefs anymore than it does on New Age ones. Give it up already.

Summary: Armageddon
Review: Unfortunately, lots of people look on this series as pure fiction
with no basis in fact..Sad to say, I'm afraid many aare going to be sadly mistaken..I was enthralled from beginning to end. Yes, I
was disappointed when some of the main characters were killed, but, that made it more life-like. LaHaye and Jenkins are master weavers of the written word. I cannot wait for the "glorious appearing" This is the middle of February, though, and my wait won't be long. I loved the whole series and anyone can just use
them and go back in scripture to research for themselves.

Summary: Don't be LEFT BEHIND!
Review: Don't be LEFT BEHIND! Read THE CHRIST CLONE TRILOGY, it's a WAY BETTER end times series!

Summary: A Phenomenon!
Review: There's no doubt about it. Tim Lahaye is a phenomenon that grips the American imagination. It's hard to write about any individual book of his and his co-authors, because they are all so much the same, with the same goal in mind. Which is to bring about "Armageddon," by hook or crook. That Lahaye is in leagues with Bush and other right-wing politicos is no surprise, considering that, for some inexplicable reason, these types have nothing better to do than cause chaos and mayhem wherever they go. What more perfect blueprint could there be for such destruction than the Bible, as amplified by Lahaye's interpretations, which are influencing the masses in a big way.

In other words, it's all a set-up--get millinos of people to believe in what you're doing, and it will happen. Use the mind-control system already in place, the Bible, Christianity and the rest, and things will work well. Does Lahaye really believe everything he writes? Possibly, but it is a simple fact that human beings influence their surroundings, and Lahaye, by his writings, is bringing about Armageddon, with the help of his very powerful friends. It would be best, naturally, if his "message" were ignored, or else we WILL experience THE END. 'Cause that, folks, is really what the powermongers have in mind. Tim Lahaye may be a pawn in this insidious MAN-orchestrated plot, or he may be a knowing partner.

There's a solution to all this Left Behind drivel, and that is discovering what religions are really about. Mostly they're about priests, ministers, etc., having power. They represent in the main FICTIONAL tales and myths that have little basis in reality. One antidote I've found extremely useful to all of this End of the World horror is a book called "The Christ Conspiracy," which lays it on th e line that we've not only been D-U-P-E-D but we're staring at a lie that's going to lead smack dab into The End, Armageddon and being Left Behind. I highly recommend the Christ Conspiracy as a spot of sanity that alleviates the horror spread by the terrormeisters such as Lahaye.

Summary: Thought This Was The End
Review: I thought this was the final book in the series. When I got to the end of the book, I wondered how the series could end like that. It was only after I got to the end that I saw in the back of the book that the 12th (and I presume final) book in the series is due out in March, 2004.

I'll look forward to getting it, but not at full price. I'll either wait for the paperback that I can usually get at Sam's Club for under $8, or look for a highly rated Amazon.com seller who will sell it used for under $5. With the shipping that would still come up to over $8, and while I like these books, I don't think they are worth more than that much to me.
