Summary: AN EVERGREEN BOOK WITH THE GREATEST HEROINE!!!
Review: A month after reading the book(I was 21 then!),my family was fed up hearing the name 'Anne Shirley'. Rarely has a character made such an impression me as did dear Anne.I loved the may Ms.Montgomery had sketched the island of Avonlea. The Lake of shining waters, The garden of- what?? I may forget the names but never can I forget the beauty with which the author has brought life into each and every cahracter in the book.Anne,Marilla,Mathew,Rachel,Diana and oh!the entire lot of them.It is one of my very favourite books, but I hate it to be put down as a children's book. It would be better for the world if the whole population read and enjoyed Anne as much as I did. I finished the book in 3 hours or so and then re-read the whole book again-this time for more than 15 hours-enjoying each and every moment of it.It made me so full at heaart and so emotional(without the book ever being tragic that I had to shed a few tears before sleeping on it.In short, Anne Shirley is my most favourite character, the one I love the most.Read it,do, and lose your heart to Anne.

Review: I was horibly upset with some reveiws that the movie was better then the book. What our they crazy! I loved book it gave you such a feel for how beutiful Avonlea was, and the parts the movie edited out were the best part. I think that no girl my age or another would dislike this book.

Summary: This book should be read by everyone, young and old.
Review: Anne of Green Gables was a book selection on a my son's list of required summer reading. Since I knew my 12 yr old son would never chose a book whose main character was a girl, I told him that it was required reading. My son read the book and found it entertaining ( I caught him laughing aloud a few times). He thought it was a little predictable, because in almost chapter Anne got in trouble, and someone else "had to clean up the mess." I decided to read the book too. I just finished it a few days ago, and it is now one of my favorite books! The descriptions of Green Gables, and the country side are so beautiful, and Anne's love of nature and life itself are contagious. I think many females must see something of themselves it that red headed girl. Is it her desire to be accepted, her love of nature and beauty, her melodrama, her bad temper, her vivid imagination, her stubborness, her honesty, her love of competion, her intellegence, or her nobility? We can find these qualities, and faults in ourselves and in so many women we know. We see our selves in the 9 year old orphan girl, whether we are 8, 10, 30, or going on 50.

Summary: I hope my future children will love Anne as much as me!!!
Review: I was very saddened to read some of these reviews. So what if it isn't realistic...so what if she's too happy... isn't that what fiction is all about? If LMM had such an unhappy life, then, what better way to vent her frustrations than by creating such an enchanting cast of characters and by writing one of the most beloved books of all time? Aside from LITTLE WOMEN and A GIRL OF THE LIMBERLOST, Anne is one of the only books (series) that I would feel comfortable letting my neice and my (hopefully future) children read. Anne is a wonderful creation...and one of my favorites.

Summary: A book of wonders.......
Review: Anne of Green Gables, the most splendid book of all!!Never have I read such a book of such beautiful characters.Anne the lovely orphan who was sent to a Marilla & Matthew(a pair of elderly siblings) by mistake.Though she was not appreciated at first, everyone learnt to love that redheaded(later auburn haired) sweet & attractive girl with freckles. She was different from others & had a way of her own(imagination too).Events passed here n' there as the book continued. This book is my favorite of em all as the writer expressed her imagination in a wondrous form.I really mean it!If someone wants to curl up with a book ready to read then Anne of Green Gables is the one!!

Summary: The events that Anne had to face prior to living at Green
Review: Gables would psychologically leave her a bitter and untrusting young woman. Anne is far to happy and giddy to be a realistic character; especially keeping in mind the time in which novel takes place. L. M. Montgomery went through similar experiences; she was lonely and left to live with her elderly grandparents ( could this be where Mathew and Marilla came from ? ) and was never the happy woman that Anne grows up to be. Montgomery's life story could almost represent the story of Anne, only without the happy ending. Therefore the events of the novel are unrealistic and very unlikely to ever come true in the way that is presented in this novel.

Summary: No such book better than this one
Review: Ever since i have read' Anne of Green Gables',i have grown very very attached to Anne.I love her, really, with all my heart, all my mind and all my soul.Anne's story is a series of stories which tells us how Anne turned from a little girl of ten from Green gables to the mother of six children. But,in my heart, she is always 'the tall, slim girl,"half past sixteen",with serious gray eyes and hair which her friends called auburn' whether she is Marilla and Matthew's adopted child,Gilbert's wife or the mother of six lovely children. The Anne with two long braids is always in my mind! Anne's story is unlike 'Daddy Long Legs' and 'Heidi'.The former is also a story about an orphan,Judy. But it is mainly a love story while Anne is a life story. It not only has love, but also family. The latter,'Heidi',is a story about an adorable little girl,Heidi.I love this book but it leaves nothing in your mind when you are through with it.Conversely, you always want to know more about Anne after finishing 'Anne of Green Gables'. Lastly,I hope more and more people can know this story and recognize how tempting this story is!!!

Summary: The Best

Summary: A great novel about the affects of a high-spirited girl.
Review: We have all read books that have touched us in some way. You can really relate yourself to the book and understand what is happening to the characters. L.M. Montgomery's novel Anne of Green Gables is a book the touched me.

The novel begins when Anne Shirley, a talkative redhead is eleven years old. She is an orphan living with a family who has decided to send her back to the orphanage. Not long after Anne had arrived at the orphanage was she told that they had found another place for her to live. Anne would live with the Cuthberts on their farm.

Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert are a brother and sister who own a farm called Green Gables on Prince Edward Island. They were both getting older and Matthew needed some help on the farm. They talked to a woman in town and she was going to help them adopt a strong young man to help them. Mistakenly Anne was sent to them. Before they had a chance to send her back, she had won not only their hearts but those of everyone else on Prince Edward Island.

Anne's presence at Green Gables affected everyone. She went from being a jaunty little girl to a well loved young woman helping others along the way. Anne made friends with as many people as she could and did her best to assist others in any way possible.

Anne of Green Gables was an amazing book that taught me many lessons about friendship and kindness. I am very glad that I was able to read it and hope that many others will do the same.
