Summary: Interesting series, interesting premise
Review: The authors have obviously come upon a good idea and are writing the heck out of it. I've read all of these so far. A series I liked a bit better, although Christian readers might not be as thrilled, was Robert Doherty's AREA 51 series which is rewriting the entire history of mankind inside the format of a tense modern day thriller that weaves together many myths and legends. I highly recommend that series of books.

Summary: The series is dragging on too long!
Review: I am not a Christian, and I may be missing something in this series of books, but I am left with the desire to not accept Jesus Christ as my Lord, and to hang around for the Tribulation. Shouldn't these books be making me not want to be here for the Tribulation?

Summary: Are White Americans the only people the authors can write?
Review: The minorities ( few that there are) are written in an insulting stereotype. for Example an Iraqi is quoted as saying "please not to be landing here..." I have never heard any Arab speak that way. This character sounded like the satirical Apu from the Simpsons. There are no people of color, any color included in these books. I started out liking the books but was disturbed by the incidents of racial stereotyping. What is most disturbing is the fact that White Supremecist Matthew Hales is known as Pontifex Maximus of the One World Church of the Creator. Please tell me He stole this idea!

Summary: Time to wrap up the series!
Review: I was disappointed. Left Behind was great, but each succeeding book seems to get worse than the one before. It seems like they are dragging out the series on purpose. I hope Assassins is better.

Summary: Better than Soul Harvest, but still tepid
Review: The best part of this book was the locusts. They were pretty interesting, creepy, and kind of frightening in a sci-fi way. But the characters were weakly developed and shallow throughout, and the various chase-scenes were poorly done and not believable. Everything was written like a movie script, not a novel; this is a "novelization" in advance.

Hattie confuses me, and the scenes with her various friends were not well developed. Minor characters popped in and out without much reason.

As usual, the plot breaks from time to time for a little witnessing or the inevitable biblical proof-text (where everything is taken literally and where good interpreters know exactly how to interpret prophecy -- how convenient).

SPOILER ALERT: I GIVE AWAY SOME PLOT BELOW, SO DON'T READ ON IF YOU WANT TO BE KEPT IN SUSPENSE

The worst part of it was the treatment of Amanda, who was under suspicion in Soul Harvest. What's the matter with the authors? I think it's cheap to redeem her character after she's been implicated. It panders to the sentimental wishes of the audience. It's as though they could not keep with the story they had developed in the previous episode

Summary: Absolutely Fantastic
Review: This is the best series regarding end-time prophecy I have come across. The kids version is great. My Sunday School class is unable to put it down. I have read all five so far and it was definitely a page turner. I anxiously await the next installment. These books make you think and if you're smart you'll make sure you won't be left behind to endure the tribulation when it comes. I thank God I'm Saved and won't be here to see/witness any of the tribulation period. The book is very accurate, according to Scripture.

Summary: Interesting but too drawn out and predictable
Review: I have read all of the books in the series now, and while I remain interested in them, I am also disappointed. The action seems slow in parts, unnecessary in parts, and rushed in other parts. The writing is not as clean as I would like. There is too much redundancy. Also, I get the feeling that the writers are telling us rather than showing us. That is a really bad thing to do and something all writers are warned against doing. I expected to hear more about the judgements and what was going on. I feel that the actual prophesies from the Bible and being glossed over. I mean the book was called Apollyon, and we got less than 50 pages on that. And all we heard was "the people were in pain." Well, pain is mighty abstract. WHat kind of pain? What was it like? I also feel that the cat-and-mouse thing is getting to be way too much. And the whole thing with Hattie? Oh Puh-leeeeese! ALso, they mention Amanda on the flyleaf about her supposed subversion. How in the world could LaHaye and Jenkins resolve that in two paragraphs? That wasn't even worth including that as a main feature. Neither was Apollyon since he did not figure into the plot very much at all. I expected it to be more about the judgements and less about the people. The characters are not growing nor developing. I am sorry to see that. I am beginning to find these books wanting. I am unsure if I will buy Assassins. I almost feel like things are being drawn out just to meet marketing demans. Is that a very Christian way of satisfying your people and educating them?

Summary: True to scripture, frightening for unbelievers, glorious end.
Review: As a Christian and knowing where I'll be during the rapture , I have strengthened my walk with Jesus Christ. I don't want to be here ,Left Behind, because no one knows how bad it would really be. I like the writing, it's fast reading, to the point and understandable, to the lay unbeliever. I have bought 5 copies and started my family and friends with the first copy and they find the rest of the series, or get them from libraries. The best series to start a witnessing program. It took me one day to read Apollyon and I know the 6th book is out, have to wait till August 5th. When they make this book into a movie, hope it has the same effect on people as the books do. I look forward to next books coming . Thanks to the authors for revealing the book of Revelation in a simplistic manner for everyone to understand. To the Authors, keep up the good work.

Summary: A real page turner. Couldn't put down
Review: What great books all of them. Love following the lives of all the character. Jerry and Tim can be crual! There you are reading the last page, thinking you can just turn to the next. But no they just left you there, at the end of a cliff... Now you have to wait till the next book. How could they do this to me! You are mean! Now I am waiting till August. See you then.

Summary: GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! AND GREAT!
Review: I loved all of them. All of the novels in the series are well done. The writing isn't the greatest, but the story is well developed. I can't wait for the next one!********* I've discovered another author named, A.T. Nicholas. He wrote a novel called, THE FIST OF GOD. I recommend it while we wait for the next LaHaye and Jenkins book. It's well written, the characters are realistic, and the plot is great. it has some cool twists. There's some strong language, but it has a positive message.
