Summary: Great series on personalized rendition of Biblical Prophecy
Review: I am not so concerned with the characters as I am of the wonderful attempt the authors are making in presenting the series in a personalized manner. Each of these character's names could be exchanged for any person who does not presently believe in Christ as their Savior, and the dialogue is most possible under those futuristic circumstances. The Authors,in my view, are NOT attempting to add their own 'prophecies',but are instructing those who read the series to get out their, act in their faith, and present to those lost the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so as to bring them to salvation and avoid any Trubulation as depicted in the series.Brothers Jenkins and LaHaye,I recognize your gifts of teaching and instructing, and I will pray you are guided in this ministry. In Christ, Steve

Summary: A good concept not taken far enough
Review: This is subject matter with great potential, but not well executed. Better novels are McCammon's SWANG SONG, or Kleier's THE LAST DAY. THE LAST DAY is the scarier and more nerve-racking of the two, and it has a compelling message readers will find provocative, if not disturbing. But don't read it if you're spiritual nature is easily bruised!

Summary: Not as good as the rest of the series, Apollyon dragged.
Review: I've read the entire series to date. LaHaye and Jenkins have made Revelation much clearer: as a Christian who tends to put off until tomorrow what I should be doing today, I've found the series has really brought the concept of now, not later, into focus. However, Apollyon seemed unnecessary, at least as an entire book. Its content could have been boiled down into 1/2 the number of pages and included in the next one. I question why the authors wrote a book that dragged so, wasted so much time on Hattie's health, etc. Did they feel they had to get out another in the series to keep their publishers and public satisfied? If so, this one didn't make the cut. Generally not up to their usual best! If I were a reader picking up this book first instead of Left Behind, I probably wouldn't buy the rest of the series.

Summary: The Best in the Series so Far!!!!
Review: Apollyon is by far the best book in the series so far, in my opinion. The books started out with plenty of action, leaving me hanging at the end of the first book, Left Behind. The next book, Tribulation Force was a little slower, then sped up near the end. Nicolae, the third book, was definately the best of the first three. It ended with a band, literally! Soul Harvest, the fourth book, got a little slower that Nicolae, but faster than Tribulation Force. I do think that the authors stayed with the earthquake thing a little to long, but Soul Harvest has some great surprises along the way! Finally, Apollyon. This was definatley the best book in the series. Straight from the beginning, there is action. But the most action is at hte end, where the first of the three woes is unleashed. I know Assains will be even better. Read Revalation 9:13 - 22:21 to find out what will happen in the next 6 or 7 books.

Summary: Christian Fiction Light
Review: Like many, I found myself unable to put down the intial books in the Left Behind series. Great story, interesting characters, suberb writing. However, with each successive book, I have grown more dissatisfied. Maybe it is the extremely wide margins and the large print of the hardback editions that remind me of college term papers where I had little to say but wanted to create the impression of substance. Maybe it is the diminishing fluidity of events and character development. The once suberb writing, great story, and wonderfully rich characters have been replaced with the literary equivalent of McDonalds. I hope the desire to produce 12 books in the series does not cause a continuing diminshment in the quality of writing or the joy of the reading experiance.

Summary: Absolutely the worst book so far
Review: This is an amazing series, but I think the authors rushed to get this last one out. It was awful. They took a few incidents and spread them out over the whole book, as if they're trying to drag the seven years out over more books. Clean and concise...the first 4 books were, what happened here. I hope Assassins is better.

Summary: The most exciting series I have read in a long time!
Review: I am so excited. I just got notice that the next book in the series, "Assasins", has been shipped! I don't normally do reviews like this, but this series is great! I have been so drawn in by the books. I just can't (or don't want to) put the books down when I am reading them. Each one has been like that. I am not a fast reader, but I got through all of them in no time and have passed them on to family and friends who are doing the same. I read a lot. I have been reading a book, from one to the next, for 10 years, at least. I enjoy works by King, Rice, Crichton, Ludlum, Grisham and a lot more. I did notice a couple of slow spots, but a lot of books have those. I just really like the characters and the story line. They are realistic. I just can't wait to find out what happens next, that's how I judge whether a book is good or not. If it can cause me to think about nothing else until I have finished it, then it is great. I love the fact that it makes things in the bible understandable in modern times. I am a Christian and this certainly gave me food for thought. I would definitely recommend this series, to anyone!

Summary: Good.
Review: There is a lot of repeat in this book. It takes you through 3 quarters of reading before it deals with the "apollyon". This sequel can be missed because of the limited content on its actual title.

Summary: Each new book is better than the one before
Review: The Left Behind series is the best I've read in a long time. The first book was good but in my opinion each successive book is better than the one before. All my family and friends are reading the series and feel the same way. Also, I'm constantly running into people (traveling, vacation, work, etc.) who are reading the series and love it as much as I do. I can't wait for the next book!

Summary: Nancy Drew meets the Apocolypse
Review: I read all these books(five of them) in a five day period.Easy to race through, a third grader could understand them. Large type and juvenile writing style makes for easy reading. The series had been recommended and I have to admit I got hooked, but kept laughing out loud at the redundancies and the style that reminded me so much of some of the first reading I did...Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys style. My opinion, when asked, is that these writers are trying to get their message across to folks at all educational levels...point being they are working on the religious side as opposed to the literary side. Good poolside reading, they can be thrown away without your having spent a fortune on them.
