Review: I loved it! It was very hard for me to put it down. Paterson is a page turner. I loved the main character to be a woman and how the author develops her rolegggg in the book. It was like reading three books at the same time: the crimes, her sickness, the romance... The story has many twists, great thriller. It would be a great movie. I am looking forward to the next one.

Summary: I'm Hooked!
Review: This is my first James Patterson book, trust me it is not going to be my last. I have been a little slow in starting Patterson's books; I had so many different series going that I didn't want to start another. I'm sorry that it took me so long to read him. Thank you Mr. Patterson for starting another series, so I could start without having to "catch up" a bunch of books. I was not disappointed in Mr. Patterson's skill. He is a fantastic writer. Let see things to like about his style, no padding, Patterson does not bore the reader with a lot of environmental detail. I really don't care that the streets were full of trash or that the mountains had a red hue to them because of this or that. But the author does give you enough to understand the environment and the people. Second, his characters are well thought out and developed to perfection. But within the flow of the story, he doesn't waste pages describing every little thing about them. Mr. Patterson uses a unique way of blending first and third person to tell the story. This is a very enjoyable way to unfold a story. The read is not stuck in only one point of view for the whole book. Thirdly, the story flows from beginning to end. All the clues are laid out as the story progresses. So that when the twist and turns the reader is as much off guard and the characters. "1st To Die" is an excellent book, if it were a person, they would be in excellent fighting condition, all muscle and no fat. I loved the characters, both the good and bad guys. The villain is truly a nasty and mean character. The good guys are people I would like to have as friends not perfect but good people. When I first read about this story line, I thought another story about people taking the law into their own hands. That is not the case here, I respect Mr. Patterson for not sinking to that type of story. When the hero is a vigilante he or she is no better than the villain. I whole heartily recommend "1st To Die" to any one who enjoys a very good read. Oh, and by the way, I've started James Patterson's Alex Cross series. So now I have a lot of "catching up" to do.

Summary: Couldn't put down; one of the better Patterson stories
Review: I couldn't put this down. I read it in one sitting. While the who dunnit was somewhat predictable, I still enjoyed it. There was however,an occurence at the end while sad was unpredictable. I like this character, Lindsay and hope to see more of her. How Patterson ties the 3 couple's murders together was interesting.

Summary: 1st to Die - my 1st try
Review: This is the first time I've read a James Patterson novel. I loved the story. His style of writing was comfortable and the print style and size was real easy on the eyes - I even checked to see if I bought a "large print" edition but I didn't. I normally like short chapters, but these are very short. It really seemed to break things up just as I got lost in it. A homicide inspector, a medical examiner, a reporter and an assistant DA make up The Women's Murder Club. I loved Claire, the medical examiner, who's a kind, nurturing woman. Lindsay is a great character and I look forward to seeing more of her. I felt I knew "who dun it" but found I was wrong. There are 3 possible endings to this book. I thought it would be the second possible ending. But the ending Patterson choose was a surprise to me! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I look forward to another meeting of The Women's Murder Club.

Summary: Readers Beware - Publisher Error!
Review: After reading close to 350 pages of this mediocre outing by Patterson (check out Along Came A Spider or Kiss The Girls instead), I was amazed to find a truly incredible error on the part of the publisher - Chapters 93 through 103 are repeated and Chapters 104 through 112 are entirely omitted! The way to find out if you possess this error in the hardcover edition (I recommend this step before beginning the book) is to go to Page 346/Chapter 103 and see if it is followed by Page 315/Chapter 93. The next error happens on Page 379/Chapter 113 which is preceeded by Page 346/Chapter 103. Note to AMAZON: I'd highly recommend that you check out your copies for this error before sending them out to your customers. Happy Hunting!

Summary: Too Far-Fetched!!!
Review: I really thought this book was kinda silly. The entire time I was reading it I was shaking my head in disbelief. The characters are not as likable as the ones in the Alex Cross series. My favortie book of James Patterson's is by far "Along Came a Spider". It was much more believable.

Review: I certainly didnt think that this was Pattersons best book, but it wasnt a total bust. It was definitely a fast paced read, as I finished it in one siting. However, although I normally like his style of very short chapters, for some reason I didnt feel that it worked well here. It really seemed to break up the flow of the novel. If you have read Patterson before you know he always goes for a suprise ending, which doesnt work here, because if you think about it you can figure out what will happen long before the end. Basically, it is a relatively entertaining novel, but it doesnt break any new ground. I would call it "Patterson-lite". I think Pattersons biggest problem is that he is putting books out too fast these days. This is what, his third book in the last six months? Maybe now that he is so popular he feels that he doesnt have too try as hard, and he is going for quantity over quality. Check it out from the library instead of buying it.
