Rating: Summary: ANOTHER GREAT BOOK IN THE SERIES Review: This is a series of books that is rare, one of those books that are great to read and have all good stuff in it. No senseless violence,no sex, and no curse words at all. All the books leading up to #6 build the intensity of this book. Rayford is one of those characters you feel really sorry for and feel the anger and pain in him. At times in the book you actually may feel compelled to his darker side, the side that wants to spill the AntiChrist's blood. Also, the appearance of the 200 millon demonic horseman in the book add some zest to the book. The ending is the best: Who is the killer of Nicolai Carpathia and now that he is dead is the Tribulation Force and the world in for perhaps the worst part of the Tribulation period? All in all a great book like the rest of the series and I think it is a book for the times we live in: it gives us something to look to and pray to.
Rating: Summary: Scary Review: "Assassins" sixth in the LEFT BEHIND series continues with Revelation's prophecy. As Rayford Steel and newest member of the Tribulation force search for her property they are attacked by G C forces. Only the sudden appearence of the 200 million demonic horseman save them from capture and sure death. The demonic horseman, visable only to believers, destroy one third of the remaining unbelievers leading to the predicted death of The Wailing Wall Witnesses. Riveting drama, authentic dialogue and captivating action will keep readers engrossed from beginning to the end and the cliffhanger ending will have them out buying the next in the series. Rating: Summary: Left Off! Review: Half way through this, I couldn't go on any longer. The story is important. Its message of salvation through Jesus Christ couldn't be any more meaningful in our day and age. But the writing is terrible. Even the character names are downright silly. Rayford Steele is supposed to convey his strength. Buck Williams is supposed to connote his independence. Nicolai Carpathia is intended to reflect his heritage. The characters so named and their various antagonists are as wooden as I have ever seen in published fiction. I think Jerry Jenkins is also the creator and writer of the sports comic strip, "Gil Thorp". That's what you get here. Bible prophesy as portrayed in the daily comics. But you have to admire and wonder at the success of the series. In the end though, lovers of the art of fiction will have an extremely difficult time hanging with this series.
Rating: Summary: My whole family loves them Review: My entire family of 5 (age 11 through 39) has read and loved the Left Behind books. We recommend them to everyone. The great strengths of these books are the characters and the settings. The characters are remarkably real. They feel pain, sorrow, and everything a human feels, plus they react as one would to situations. The setting is realistic too, because it has real cities, real climates, and the authors describe the places in as much detail as possible. Most important is that the Gospel is given plainly and repeatedly so that no one can read these books without learning the truth of Christ.
Rating: Summary: Says it all Review: These books changed my life. What more need I say?
Rating: Summary: Wouldn't allow me to stop reading! Review: This book kept me reading because it usually ended a chapter with a cliffhanger. The thing that I didn't like was that the ending left you wondering what happened. I was up all night finishing it and when I didn't fully know what happened i was looking for the answer in the next book. I reccomend that you have the indwelling by your side near the end so that you don't wonder what happened for the rest of the night(like I did).
Rating: Summary: Are you on to it, yet? Review: If you haven't seen my rave reviews for The Christ Clown Trilogy all over the place here, you must be blind. I've been writing literally hundreds of them for years, planting them in the readers reviews of every best seller I can find, trying my best to [trick] you into buying them. Just look above at the review I wrote for myself. You'll note, I even spent hours keystroking in "yes" responses at the bottom to ensure my reviews dominate the tops of the pages forever. Yes, The Christ Clown Trilogy is superior to the Bible itself, filled with the most sentient wisdom imaginable. But most important, if I can fool enough people into buying my books, I can make enough money to quit my day job writing boring speeches for 3rd-rate politicians (not to mention writing boring reviews to flatter myself). Maybe it is deceitful and manipulative and incredibly egocentric, but hey, I've gotten away with it for years, now haven't I?
Rating: Summary: Effective Review: This book is really great at teaching you what will happen in the end time while still keeping you entertained. The charactors are very real and you feel like you know them at a personal level. The authors are able to use suspence to keep you wanting to read the next book. It just kinda gets confusing with all the different stories going on though. I would definatly recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Assassins: Christian thriller Review: The sixth book in the New York Times best selling series Left Behind, Assassins continues the drama and suspense of its predecessors. The series, based on the predictions from the book of Revelations in the Bible, follows the life of former airline pilot Rayford Steele and his friends and family. It has been three years since millions of people across the planet vanished into thin air as a result of the Rapture, or Jesus Christ coming to take his true believers to Heaven. The remaining population is left in chaos, and the Bible predicts only seven more years before Christ comes back to set up his kingdom on earth. In Assassins, Rayford is still grieving over the death of his second wife, Amanda. He blames the new world leader, Nicolae Carpathia, for everything that has gone wrong. Carpathia is believed to be the Antichrist. Rayford plots to murder Carpathia even though it will make him an international fugitive. This novel is thrilling and suspenseful and will keep you guessing, and it's ending will drive you crazy until you can read the seventh book in the series, The Mark. With its well developed characters, real life situations, and references to the Bible, the Left Behind series will make anyone, no matter what their religion, think twice about what's to come.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't keep me interested... Review: Book six of a story that should have been told in three books! The concept of the series is captivating, but considering the lack of creativity in the writing, story, and character development, I lost interest by book four. Continued on to book five because of morbid curiosity, then started book six, but three quarters through, put it down without the slightest interest in finding out what the big cliffhanger was going to be this time. I was most disappointed with the lack of religious depth. End times theory was totally glossed over and addressed only superficially. The biggest objection though, was the shameless way the authors have tried to stretch this "Left Behind" cash cow over as many books as humanly possible. Each book (from book 3 on) was filled with page after page of what can only be described as filler! Summaries of experiences from past books, and endless retelling of the character's personal "left behind" experiences.
