Rating: Summary: Book Review Of Assassins Review: Assassins is a great addition to the "Left Behind" series. The last five books have been thrilling, Biblically educational, and very thought provoking. Assassins goes more into the thoughts a feelings of Rayford and of the other Tribulation Force Members. When the story begins the are Thirty-eight months into the Tribulation. Meaning there is another thirty-eight more months to go. The Anti Christ Nicolae Carpathia gets more and more eager to find the "Safe House" and the Tibulation Force. It is thrilling because there are questions that are arising. For instants, How is the Tribulation Force going to get food and cloths and things that are needed to survive. The mark of the Beast is becoming more and more widely spread. In time it would be the only way to buy Food and things that are needed. In addition to all the problems that keep coming up the second half of the Tribulation is the worse half. It will only get harder and more unbearable than before. I am eagerly awaiting the next books to this series.
Rating: Summary: leave behind Review: The only thing that will be left behind is the money you leaveat the counter for this book. I know this book is fiction, but youmust admit that people take the idea of the Christ's return veryserious and they use Tim and Jerry's books as a tool to understand the rapture. If the authors really believed the rapture was coming, why do they write so many books about it and make so much money. What good will their big pile of wealth do them when they are up in heaven. Wouldn't one book explaining how judgement day is upon us suffice? People...if you really believed this was the end of times you would quit your jobs, be with your families, and pray for forgiveness every waking moment. Instead you go about your days, running the rat race, trying to make more money so you can buy the next installment in this tired series. END
Rating: Summary: This Book will leave you thinking! Review: After I read the last words of this book, the first word that came out of my mouth was "Wow!" This book will leave you anxiously waiting for the next book of the series. The book begins with the Tribulation Force still hiding out in the safe house. Rayford is experiencing an incessantly growing desire to assasinate the Anti-Christ. His rage is fed even more when the Tribulation Force experiences a tragedy near the beginning of the book. The intensity of the story builds as "due time" approaches for the Two Witnesses at the Wailing Wall and Hattie mysteriously disappears. In fear that the safe house's security might be compromised, the tribulation force attempts to retrieve Hattie. The dialogue and action in this book are extremely engaging and most readers will not be disappointed. I did, however, grow somewhat weary of the story's account of Rayford's plot to destroy Carparthia. I guess the author wanted to depict the consequences of the pressure that is put on imperfect saints. This, however, did not diminish the story's potency. The book's explosive ending leaves many questions and will leave the readers speculating and guessing and looking forward to the next book in the series. "The Indwelling: The Beast Takes Possession."
Rating: Summary: "Who Shot J.R.?" Review: The ending of this book will have you analyzing who the Assassin might be. I can make an argument for at least four people, and you will find yourself anxious for the answer. Unlike other reviewers, I am enjoying the slower pace of these novelettes because I simply don't want them to end. Even though I would prefer a thrilling, taut, high velocity novel, I appreciate the slow "teaching" approach the authors are taking with this series. To understand the complexity of St. John's Revelation, it takes a simple writing style and an entertaining storyline to reach millions. Please don't be put off by the unattractive personality traits of some of the Tribulation Force members in this book. Remember that these individuals are "Infants in Christ" and are operating under lonely and stressful times, and thus are far from perfect under these conditions. Just enjoy the exciting scenes of a murderous "set-up", a cold-blooded "hit", a cleaver delaying tactic in delivering a computer shipment, and many small mysteries that will surely be resolved in the upcoming book.
Rating: Summary: As an Orthodox Christian with different beliefs . . . Review: As an Orthodox Christian -- one whose faith does not believe in the Rapture but does almost everything else described in this story -- I can say this series is my absolute favorite, and this book is by far the best installment. My church is different; we have different beliefs. But I still recommended this book to other children in my parish because I feel it can only encourage people to accept Christ, or change their ways, before it's too late, and it teaches the same basic ideas. Not to mention, the characters are incredible, the plot epic, and the style of writing very well suited for the story. This is definately one of the best books ever written. God bless the authors.
Rating: Summary: Assasins Review: Thank God for authors such as LeHay and Jenkins. I read the first six books and was spellbound by the sixth one.I have learned so much since reading the Left Behind Series and I wholeheartedly recommend this reading to everyone I love and care about. The books give one insight in to the Bible in very understanding laymens terms. The charactersin the books are so real and Jenkins and LeHay draw you towards understanding the frailties of humans through these people. I can honestly say because of these books I am now a better person with a betteruderstanding of Heaven and Hell.....two very real places.<I too, like others before me have said have no desire to spend eternity in Hell. My deepest appreciation to these two authors.
Rating: Summary: Thank God I won't be there! Review: As a Christian I have eargerly read each of the books in the Left Behind series. Recently our Pastor has been preaching on the book of Revalation. It's been neat to see how close Tim Lahaye & Jerry Jenkins have followed the Bible. It's a thought provoking series! I can't wait for the next book in the series! I'm greatful to God that I won't be there to face all the agony!
Rating: Summary: Fiction? This guy thinks he is writing a bible sequel Review: Let me say this first, I believe in GOD! This book is pure hogwash. This whole notion of God Vs. the devil is nothing more than a step backwards for our struggling culture. This book gives the reader the idea that their is a devil here on earth making people do bad things, and we need a savior to "save" us all. I don't buy it one bit. There is no evil force turning our souls rotten, what happened to free will. I hate it when people start talking about hell and heaven as tangible places where our souls actually go. These places and peoples (Satan, angels, etc.) are dreams of a confused animal that has lost its way. True immortality comes from within the heart and mind, as well as through our offspring which shares half of our genetic infomation. Face it, there is no such thing as heaven, hell, or the devil - they are metaphors for our own insecurities!
Rating: Summary: CAN'T STOP READING IT! Review: This is a wonderful book as the rest of the series. I read all of them in a week. These books have helped me with my christian life. Now I understand the Apocalypse book better. It also, has helped me to help someone else with their christian life. Thank you very much for these awesome books. I can't wait for the next two.
Rating: Summary: A cliffhanger indeed! Review: Assassins will indeed keep you guessing about who did the deed. There are many possibilities but only one will be right. I love the way the author brings everything together at the end. You can also feel the reality of the characters and know people would react this way in everyday life if the tribulation was indeed occuring. It is a must read for anyone. It does make much more sense if you start reading the series from the beginning rather than starting with Assassins. Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye have done a marvelous job in putting this series together. I can not wait until The Indwelling is released!
