Rating: Summary: Greatest Book Yet Review: Assassins is the best book of the series. It is very suspenseful. It is action packed. It leaves you wondering who killed Carpathia at the end. The authors make it very exciting and suspenseful. I would reccomend this book to anyone, believers and non-believers.
Rating: Summary: We may not be around to read the last book in this series! Review: The first book in this series got things off with a bang, and moved right along into the "end times" stuff that we were anxious to read. But seems like since then, they've slowed WAAAAAY down, and I'm wondering if it is for commercial purposes? At this rate, I'll probably miss the end of the series, because by then I will have already been raptured! I'll keep reading them as long as they keep churning them out, but am starting to feel a little manipulated by the obvious maneuvering to stall out the series. And one specific thing that really bothers me is the liberty used with some scripture references, i.e., the one Tsion quoted as he was watching the Two Witnesses being killed ("they were led like a lamb to the slaughter, and they opened not their mouth"). THAT was written specifically ABOUT Jesus Christ Himself regarding His own crucifixion, and it always makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck when Christians use scriptures to conveniently tie things together by changing their context, meaning, etc. I found several of these in this series, but that one was the most disturbing to me.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Series! Review: These books were suggested to me by a friend when I became saved. This is the best series of books I've ever read! It took me 1 week to read all 6 books! I couldn't put them down! I especially liked the references to the scriptures. It allowed me to follow along in my Bible. I've already ordered 'The Indwelling' and can hardly wait to read it!
Rating: Summary: the best yet! Review: It was worth reading the first five books of the Left Behind series just to get to this one. Unlike Nicolae, where I felt the action really started to lag, Assassins kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. The cliff-hanger at the end is what really clinches the novel and gets you running for the next book-- who killed Nicolae?
Rating: Summary: too long Review: i thought that this book could have been condensed into about 100 pages. (actually the 1st 6 books would be better condensed into 3 books.) too much time is spent on things that are not important to the subject matter, which is extrememly interesting. (too much time is spent on daring escapes, etc.) i have really enjoyed the series, but the ending of this book was very disappointing. i think it was supposed to be a cliffhanger, but they made it quite obvious who killed nicolae and how he was killed. i feel like the writers are trying to drag out the series to make more money. (troubling, given the subject matter.) the 1st 5 were much better. maybe this one was just written too quickly? obviously if you are into the series you have to read this one, but wait until you have #7 handy...
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book! Review: I would recommend this book (and the entire Left Behind series) to anyone, believers or non-believers! I especially recommend to anyone who has doubts about Christianity!
Rating: Summary: The best for last! Review: This book, hard to imagine has surpassed the rest... each one left me excited to get my hands on the next. I think this is the most valuable witness of our time. I know I don't want to be "left behind" and I pray that this book touches many hearts and leads them to salvation.
Rating: Summary: Loyal Fan! Series Phanatik Review: I just finished The Assassins. I absolutely love this book. I've read all of the books in the Left Behind series up to date. Left Behind was is still top of the line for me, but Assassins may be my favorite in the series thus far. Assassins is filled with thrills and suspenseful mystery and intrigue. I love the dramatic ending of this story. From beginning to end it had my interest, just like the first book, Left Behind. It wasn't hard to keep up with the reading. I really, really like this book. I recommend it to any one who has been reading this series and enjoys this type of fiction. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Another great ending! Review: Of the first six, ASSASSINS is second (to SOUL HARVEST!) best. The last half is very exciting. Something happens to poor lil Nicolae :( and *SPOILER* Eli and Moishe better not die! Those two were my favorites! I loved their teaching of scripture! They better come back in THE INDWELLING!
Rating: Summary: I'm just being Honest! Review: Sure the books are fascinating, the idea is provacative, but the writing is just plain poor. What started out as a well above average book(Left Behind), has been dragged into an ever increasing, unrealistic, potrayal of the End Times. I understand you love the subject matter, and you can't stop reading the series right in the middle. But come on folks, 10,000,000 copies sold. This series is so magnificently OVERRATED it is not funny. I just read Solar Flare by Larry Burkett and he accomplished in 435 pages what the Left Behind Boys have yet to accomplish in over 3,500 pages of writing. They constantly rely on formulas, such as " Oh, well the action is thinning, let's make the witnesses fry somone" or " let's kill somebody, or have Rayford or Buck run frm somebody!" Granted they are the best apocliptic thrillers out. But please, Oh please don't overrate them so. IF you are looking for intrigue and suspense, read Peretti, he'll blow you away. Give honor to whom honor is due. But don't overrate just cause you are obsessed with the End Times
