Summary: A great entry in the series!
Review: I haven't exactly been the biggest harry potter fan ever, but I got the first two books for Christmas in 1999. The stories were great(if long). They let you escape into a strange and different world. This second book is quite memorable, because it's a wonderful mystery. What happens, is Hogwarts students are being turned into stone. They say it's the heir of Slytherian. Who could it be? We get to find out about Hagrid's past which I wouldn't tell to those who haven't read the books. It's got so much. Ghosts, a flying car, an attacking tree, mysterious writing, a secret diary, and even a village of spiders. Sorry if I gave too much away. Everything comes together when the mystery is solved!! That's why it's so good!! But this book had one big fault,(which is why I gave it 4 stars). You see, the ending, though adventureous, was quite voilent. I hear the Harry Potter movie's coming now. I might see it, but if the second one has theatrical release, I might because of the voilent ending. I haven't read #3 or #4 in the series, but I hope I will. So, please read this book. It is quite worthwhile.

Summary: I CAN'T WAIT!
Review: I haven't read this one yet but it looks good. You've gotta read the first one it's the best! I've never wanted anything more than to go to Hogwarts!

Summary: This book has to become a classic
Review: I immediately fell in love with Harry Potter while reading the first two chapters in line at the store. I feel that the twists and turns in the book are quite clever. I did find that the beginning of the book was much better than the end. I thought there was a bit too much violence at times even though I was deeply aware that good would triumph over evil. Despite being a bit uncomfortable with, for example, Dobby having to punish himself and some of the ghoul/death scenes: May I join in the thousands who just love this series and who can't wait to read another!!?

Summary: Delicious fun for kids and adults!
Review: I just finished "Chamber of Secrets"--I'm way behind my son, who's on the fourth book--and enjoyed this story even more than the first book. Now that the main characters have been introduced, there is more time for all the antics that take place at Hogwarts. Harry starts to wonder about his true origins, he makes discoveries that explain many things in his life, all those things that your typical 12 year old does, in a not-too-typical setting!

J. K. Rowling must have had a great deal of fun with her Fabio-type instructor character, Gilderoy Lockhart. I'm sure he's there for us grown-ups, as we have all encountered ineffectual people who are all style and no substance, as he is. She also has fun with the mandrakes and the signs they are ready to pick--but I don't want to spoil that for you! Read this book and start some enjoyable inter-generational book discussions with the kid around the block. I guarantee that kid will enjoy sharing reations to Harry and his adventures with you.

Summary: Better than the first
Review: I just finished "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", only a day and a half after starting it. In five days, I've read the first two books, and in my opinion, this is by far better than the first.

Starting with the good: The plot is darker, much more of a horror than an adventure, and a lot like something Stephen King might write--my favorite author. Second, the characters are now more interesting due to their increasing knowledge of magic, which makes the plot and the story a little more action-packed. Also, I liked the surprise ending--just like the first--and just as I did in the first book, I didn't figure it out until it actually happened.

The Bad: There aren't too many things wrong with this book. It's about thirty pages longer than the first, which isn't bad, and is actually better for the story. However, the ending is dragged out, and it could've come to a close a little sooner. Another thing would be the beginning, where a lot is reviewed from the first book. You could actually pick this one up and understand it having no prior knowledge as to what happened in Book 1 (although I do recommend it.) If the author would've just started where she left off, assuming that they were to be read in order without a review, I--and probably many others--would've appreciated it.

Other than that, I have no other complaints. This is, in fact, the better of the first two. I just started reading the third, and I hear it's the best of the first four, but I'm not jumping to any conclusions considering I heard the second was boring and dull.

Summary: It's simply FABULOUS!!
Review: I just finished reading Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets and I think it was the best book I have ever read in my life (exept for the first Harry Potter book). It was very exiting and scary which is exactly what I like! I have read the first one twice and everyone I know who's read it liked it alot. The librarian at my school has the second book and everyone's fighting to get it! It was a really good book.

Summary: WOW!!
Review: I just finished reading the book. It is the second one I read of the series. I totally enjoyed it. Even though it is a children's book, but adults can enjoy it and learn lessons from it too.

It is MAGICAL, keeps you entertained waiting to see what is going to happen and it never fails to surprise you! I think it contains a lot of messages for kids to see through themselves and figure out good and bad, right and wrong. Even for me (a grown up) it opened my eyes to simple truths that we tend to forget sometimes and try to act "wisely"!

Harry, Ron and Hermione face a problem and try to solve it. It is about friendship, sacrifice and priorities.
