Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Review: Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling is clearly one of the biggest page turners of the year. I thoroughly enjoyed this new novel of magic and wizardry. While there is an excellent plot line and meaning in the story, The Chamber of Secrets was hardly a difficult book to read. However, personally I don't think that this affected the quality of the story too much and as a result, it was still a great book. Far and away the best quality to The Chamber of Secrets was the highly entertaining story line. Harry Potter, obviously enough, is the comical main character. He is always finding himself in trouble but this helps keep the excitement going. When Harry was only a todler, he survived the wrath of an evil dark wizard. How this occurred is a big mystery. As a result, Harry is an extremely famous aspiring wizard. The main issue in the story pertains to the mysterious student who has been petrifying other students and may be conspirating with the same dark wizard whom Harry had already faced. Rowling does an excellent job in The Chamber of Secrets of completely surprising the reader with a spectacular ending and making sure that the story is very interesting through the entire span of this novel. I would recommend this story to anyone looking for a good story about mischief, magic, and mayhem.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter # 2 is good, but not better than the first. Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling, was an okay book, but it was surely not as good as the first book. In this book Harry starts attending his second year at the Hogwarts School with his friends Ron and Hermoine. They get off to a rough start, and as the year goes on it doesn't get any better. There have been strange attacks on students that did not have two parents that were witches or wizards (the school is for witches and wizards only). Many suspect that Harry is the attacker, so he feels it is up to him to find out who it really is and stop these attacks. But this just gets Harry in more trouble until he succeeds... As I said above, the book was okay, but it was certainly not as good as the first one. It began with a slow and boring start. All that happened in the first three chapters was Harry's summer vaccation was ending with no exciting events and he got ready for school. When everyone is finally reunited at school, it gets a little better. But, for at least the next four chapters there are many events, but they are not written with any juice, and the events themselves are not really anything to be interested in. For example, there are a few Quidditch matches, but they were only exciting in the first Harry Potter book. Towards the end it starts to draw up more suspense and gets better becasue Harry starts taking more risks to find out who the vicious attacker is. For instance, Harry and Ron took Hagrid's dog at midnight, they hid themselves with the invisibility cloak, and went into the Forbidden Forest. Also, Harry went back in time to find out who opened the chamber of secrets the first time it was opened. The best part would have to be at the end when Harry discovers who the attacker is and the school year finally ends. But, the thrill isn't over yet...
Rating: Summary: Harry Poter- The Chamber of Secrets Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowlings, is the second of the four books in the Harry Potter series. Although it followed closely to the others in characters and themes, the way J.K Rowlings wrote her story did not catch my interest as the others did. Chamber of Secrets begins as the others do, describing Harry Potter's past and his life with his non-wizard family that hates him. His parents, who were wizards, were killed when he was just a baby and he life was miraculously spared. His aunt and uncle raised him, but they hated him because he was a wizard just like his parents. He led a miserable life until one day he received a letter inviting him to attend Hogwart's, a school for wizards in training. Harry is a very famous student; all the children know how an evil wizard killed his parents. This often puts Harry in the spotlight. In Chamber of Secrets, someone is putting a curse on many students and turning them into stone. There are a number of suspects, and one of them is Harry. He seems to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Although most people love and respect Harry, there is a student, Draco Malfoy that hates Harry. He tries to do whatever it takes to hurt Harry and blame him for all the accidents that are happening around Hogwarts. He even manages to convince most of the students that Harry is the one turning everyone to stone. Most of the book is about the accidents that happen at Hogwarts, Harry and his friends and a new teacher at the school. Although Harry wants to prove to everyone that he isn't the one behind all the accidents, this part of the storyline doesn't begin until the end. In the other Harry Potter books, the final adventure is build up throughout the story and that is why they are page-turners. In this volume, the beginning of the final scene starts at the very end and is solved quickly. Just as the book picks up, it ends almost abruptly. This volume, out of the four Harry Potter books, was my least favorite. It seems like J.K Rowlings was so excited about the fame of the first one that Chamber of Secrets was written quickly. In the first of the series and the ones after this one, there are many more details, both in the characters personalities, each of their storylines, and in the plot itself. Chamber's of Secrets is an enjoyable book. It is not as suspenseful and charming as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the first of the Harry Potter series. It is worth reading though if one wishes. One does not have to read Chamber of Secrets to understand the third and fourth books in the Harry Potter series.
Rating: Summary: It's about how Harry defeats the Dark Arts. Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I thought was a good book. J.K. Rowling really has a wonderful imagination. I think she is a wonderful writer! At the beginning Harry gets strange message from a little creature, named Dobby. Who tells him not to go back to Hogwarts, or else something bad will happen. So if you want to find out what happens I suggest you read this book. I loved it!
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the second installment in this fabulous series of books is even better than the first. In this book there is an even greater plot and it has a twist that you'd find in a Stephen King or John Grisham novel. In this second installment Harry turns 12 and he is ready for his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After a car lift in the middle of the night from Ron and his two brothers they fly to the Burrow, the home of the Weasleys. There Harry is introduced to the family and Hermione is there. They finally get to Hogwarts and they have a new teacher. I'll stop here because the plot starts dripping off towards that direction. Anyways you really should read this book. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Excellent sequal! Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, though not my favorite Harry Potter book, was excellent! You can tell that JK Rowling struggled with this book, since she seemed determined to put a lot of plot elements into one excellent story. She was very tedious with laying her clues, and hinting about certain things, but there was always irony around every corner. The words used can build a child's vocabulary well, but isn't too hard to understand. The book has a dark and creepy feel to it, while also making you think, and piece the puzzle together. Recommended to anyone who likes an intriguing, understandable book, and to anyone who is looking for a good read.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter book 2 Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I have all four books by J.K. Rowling. Some people try and make these books out to be bad and not good for children. The books are fun to read and should be taken as fiction, which they are, and not a fact of life. Of the books I have read lately, this is the greatest and most interesting, best written and keeps your attention. For a good change of pace you can't find a better book.
Rating: Summary: Harry potter and the Chamber of Secrets Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Year Three The Chamber of Secrets was opened long time ago and was opened this year. No one knows who opened long time ago and now people think the Dark Lord opened again. They are not sure who opened it though, could it be one of the employees of Hogwarts one of the students? Harry is in for a big adventure this year. Harry and Ron are trying to find out who opened the chamber. This year they show lots of care to the school by because they are trying to stop the attacks and find out who opened the chamber and to close it. Both of them are very brave to go and try to save the Defense against the Dark Arts teacher and Ron's sister. I like this book because there was a lot of suspense and I like secret passages that lead into trouble. I can picture where they go and put myself in their shoes. Wondering what I would have done.

Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets By: J. K. Rowling Reveiwed by: J. Yang Period: P.4 Harry Potter is the main character. He first lives with the horrible Dursleys. Then Harry Potter escapes to go to Hogwarts, a school of witchcraft and wizardry. In this book, Harry Potter goes to Hogwarts for his third year. Harry Potter goes through lots of horror and happiness at Hogwarts. At the end, he goes home safely. I like reading this book. I liked the book, because it makes me feel that i'm a Hogwarts student, too. I imagine myself following Harry and his friends(Ron and Hermione)to a place. "Harry reached the door at the top of the stairs, slipped through it, and found himself behind the counter of Honeydukes-he ducked, crept sideways, and then straightened up." Honeydukes was a place Harry couldn't go. So I imagined myself going in there and eating all those candies. Another thing I like about Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the action. There is lots of magic in this book. "A giant spider, six feet tall and covered with hair, was advancing on Ron, clicking its pincers menacingly. For a moment, Harry thought Ron had frozen. Then-"Ridikulus!" bellowed Ron, and the spider's legs vanished." I like it when lots of action goes on in this book. It makes me want to do some magic! My favorite part of the book is when Professor Lupin taught the students what the boggart can do. A boggart is a shape-shifter. It can turn in to whatever that can scare someone. Professor Lupin let the students do the magic, and I got to see who is scared of what. Harry never got the chance to do it. That's because he was afraid of dementors. Dementors are evil demons who can really haunt people!
