Summary: MORE MORE MORE!
Review: They just keep getting better! This second effort by Ms. Rowling is as engrossing as the first! Harry is learning the values that will make him a great man in addition to being a great wizard. I liked the introduction of the newer characters. Gilderoy was a ninny! His ultimate conditions was very appropriate! Keep them coming!

Summary: What is all the fuss about?
Review: This and all the Harry Potter books are much overrated both as to their force for "evil" and their status as "great literature". They are comparable to the "Hardy Boys" with some supernatural stuff thrown in. If this book gets your children reading that's great but don't believe they are learning any great moral lessons. There are none. The characters are one dimensional. Harry's foster family is disgusting mean and ugly. Harry himself has more magic tricks than brains. When your children have read these books the next step is not the works of C.S. Lewis. Start them on Grimm's fairy tales.

Summary: Harry Potter did it again!
Review: This bok is just as good as the first one. It also is filled with suspensful twists, and humorous stories. Right before Harry goes back to Hogwarts, a house-elf named Dobby warns him that terrible things will happen if he returns to school. Excited to get away from the Dursleys for another school year, Harry ignores Dobby and goes back anyway. But soon after he returns people start turning into stone. Harry's worst fear is that he without knowing it, is making this happen. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes good fantasies, but be sure to read the first one.

Summary: Clearly a trend & more predictable
Review: This book (& its series) is clearly written primarily for young minds to enthrall & entertain, combined with the positive influence of getting them into the habit of reading (instead of zombie-watching).

This book is written closely similar to its predecessor with the same dreadful/pitiful openning & ending (back to the Dudleys we will go). Dumbledore is always away when the "big" thing happens leaving Harry to deal with it by himself. Of course, we know he comes back in time to rescue Harry. There is also always a suspicious character who may not necessarily be the antagonist. & most importantly, the lesson we all love ... good triumphs over evil.

I agree though that it is highly entertaining. It has a touch of suspense (Oh, what's going to Harry next?), mystery (Who is doing all those nasty things?) & humor (like what happened to Hermoine in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom). It is also filled with good stuff for the young (& old) minds about loyalty, bravery, friendship, pure-heartedness & yes, the importance of CHOICE! For it is this very "choice" that defines the core of a person --whether he be a muggle or a wizard.

Summary: My name is VĂctor, and I have a problem with Harry Potter.
Review: This book almost costed me my job, my health and my sentimental life. IT IS GREAT!!! After reading the first book I took this one and could not put it down, I had to take it to work, I had to stop eating, and my loved ones forgot how I looked like, at least for the couple of days it took me to read it. The author really knows how to handle this amazing world full of imagination, you`ll end up loving the characters and wishing for your own magic wand or Nimbus 2000. But also the book has a great plotline, complicated (at least for a grown up like me, probably the kids get it from the beggining) but interesting, with a surprise ending that will slap you in the face. Make sure to get it.
