Summary: Great sequel that doesn't live up to its predecessor.
Review: The Chamber of Secrets starts very well, with Harry and Ron missing the train to Hogwarts and having to fly to the school by car. It is shown on the NZ cover. However, The Chamber of Secrets, unfortunately, doesn't match up to its hyped and brilliant predecessor. It is still a great read no doubt, but the idea could've been taken further. Okay, on to the good cheese. Ron's character is described much better in this book, we get to know more about his personality. The book is extremely gruesome at times and should be classed as a full-on-reminiscent-of-James Patterson-thriller, which is a fabulous change because it is definitely not what I expected. J.K. Rowling certainly gives us shocks, surprises and chills up our spine. She did this in the first, but not as adult as she has done in this book. The withcraft and wizardry was good, but not as great as the first. I definitely enjoyed the tense games of Quidditch, which are a high-point in all the books. This sequel was just missing the personality of the first I guess it has much more to do with evil than grand. Still, it's an enjoyable read that I would recommend mostly to teens due to the fact that children may find its gory story a little too freaky.

Summary: Rowling is Great! Keep up the fantastic writing!
Review: The Chamber of Secrets was as good or better than The Sorcerer's Stone. It was difficult to have to wait for my 11 year old stepson to finish the book so that I could read it. We cannot wait for the next installment; The Prisoner of Azkaban. FANTASTIC, ENJOYABLE READING!!!

Summary: I Loved It!
Review: The Chamber of Secrets was better than the first. And it DOESN'T promote witchcraft. And for all those kids out there who can't read it beacause their parents won't let you, I feel awfuly sorry for you. As for the parents, you need to lighten up a little. I'm eleven years old and belive me, I did not at all feel that the book was promting anything. IT'S JUST A BOOK! Kids aren't going to go out and learn about witchcraft beacause of something they read in a book! And I do not feel like they were going too over the edge with the murdering. What about all that violence and horrorwe see on televistion everyday. That doesn't even compare to the 'violence' and 'horror' in these three books ment for children aged 8-13. I hope you see the light and let your children read the book.

Summary: a reader from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Review: The Chamber of Secrets, which was built centuries ago by Salazar Slytherin, was opened by the Heir to Slytherin (Tom Riddle) through none other than... I'm not telling! The creature locked inside the Chamber is a giant ... I'm not giving you that either! You'll have to read this incredidle book to find out. I'll say one more thing, Hogwarts needs a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher! So get reading!

Summary: AMAZING!!!
Review: The chamber opened early in our fourth grade classroom when one of my students returned from London with a paperback copy of H.P. & The Chamber of Secrets. My classroom erupted in a burst of cheers! We've only finished the second chapter but WOW, I'm just as excited as before! - Mr. Mika

Summary: The most amazing book of the year.
Review: The cover of the book was what caught my attention first. As you open the book and start to read you become addicted to it. Harry is a wonderful character and his adventures are awesome. This is a book I will want my children to read (which should be in about ten years). I have already preordered the new one and am counting the days until it gets here. I hope the author has many more books in her imagination and hurries to give us readers what we want. MORE HARRY BOOKS.

Summary: best
Review: The Dusleys were so mean and hideoous that summer that all Harry Potter wanted to do was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But just as he's backing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a stange, impish creacher named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike.

That is the frist paragraph from the inside cover. I think this book, HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, is the best of the first three, on a scale from 1 to 5 I give this book a 12.

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read
Review: The entire Harry Potter series (and I've read all three books) is brilliant. It has brought the idea of magic back again only in a more believable way. I think J.K.Rowling is a highly original author. I can't wait to read more about Harry and his adventures at Hogwarts. See you on nine and three quarters!

Summary: Wait for the paperback, get the other 2 in hardcover
Review: The first book (Sorcerer's Stone) was absolutely phenomenal, and the third book (Prisoner of Azkaban) was terrific. This one is more like an overpriced Goosebumps book published in hardcover, and is considerably darker than the other two. All of the adults that I've gotten hooked on this series liked the first and third as well, and thought Chamber of Secrets was too dark and not as enjoyable. I've found that more children than adults are reading this series, as the 200+ pages may be an intimidating length for many children. I *HIGHLY* recommend the other two books, and suggest picking up the paperback for this one!

Summary: michelle's review
Review: The first book that I read was Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. My daughter had gotten to take it home from school, all the other kids were begging for it! I sat down to read it for fun and found myself totally absorbed in the story of Harry Potter and how he began learning magic. For once, a hefty novel written for children that isn't dumbed down to the lowest level of comprehension. This is an excellent story that speaks to children's love of adventure. I can't wait to buy the next novels!
