Summary: Rinse and repeat...
Review: That is what the author said after finishing the first Harry Potter book. I must agree with one of the reviewers who was a little ticked about the many similarities between the first book and The Chamber of Secrets. And yes, there are some nagging sterotypes (the one that bothers me the most is the constant comparision of Dudley to a pig)that I could do without. Although, this all was a little annoying, there were some differences that kept the book interesting. I really enjoy the Harry Potter series so far, and fully intend to continue on to the third book. Let's face it, this is a children's novel! It's allowed to have a simplistic cast of characters that develope slowly as the author writes more books. Look at all of the other series of children's novels out there. They all pretty much have a formula, just like sitcoms tend to have. Examples: The Babysitter's Club(one I read as a pre-teen), The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew...the list goes on. But, honestly, I find that Harry Potter is a cut above the others in many respects. So why are people so shocked at the similarities in Harry Potter plots? Easy, because not everyone is 8 to 12. And I'm sorry to say, if you're not 8 to 12, sometimes there are things you just don't understand anymore. Like getting into a series of books that doesn't necessarily scream Pulitzer Prize. I'm 19, and am thrilled that a new series of children's books has landed in the bookstores. It's been too long since a decent and original idea hit this area of literature. What kid doesn't imagine, late at night in their bed, that they could be part of a magical and mystical world, where they would be the most talked about and gifted person in that radically different place? I'm sorry to say I can't give Chamber of Secrets 5 stars, but I definately feel that it is still a good children's book, and worth the majority of its praise.

Summary: the BEST book!
Review: The 2 stars were just to get your attention because I never read the 5 stars. I'm 13 and I LOVE this book! Now I'm reading the book to my sister (10), brother (8), and my mom. They love it too! All those people who are talking about 'evil witchcraft' are crazy! This book is great for all ages! A MUST read! :)

Summary: This book is kewl
Review: The 2nd book is much better than the first. It has a betterstory, better characters, plot, and overal understanding. J.K. Rowlingadded so much detail that you could remember it forever. Ok, so maybe Harry is freaky looking, and Ron is also, and Hermoine is annoying, but that is the origanal part of the characters. Thay also have funny names (like Minerva ^_^). J.K. Rowling should have books when Harry Potter is in school his 7 years than when he is out. I am glad the book is printed in more than 1 language, so everyone can enjoy it. I may only be 9 years, but I still think Harry Potter books are Cool!

Summary: I love this book!
Review: The 2nd in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets keeps it going strong. I loved it! It's great to see a series where the sequel is as good a the first book. I especially liked Dobby. I recommend it to everyone.

Summary: The Chamber of Secrets
Review: The 2nd year of Harry Potter at Hogwarts sees more adventures. The second of the Harry Potter scintillates readers with musch twist-and-turns and surprises. It is more or less a detective plot in the wizardry world. Piece by piece, Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger probed identity of the Heir of Slytherin through traces of evidence. Who launched the spree of Muggle-born attacks? Who turned the Hogwarts students into stone? What kind of monster stands behind the Chambers of Secrets? Who kept the Very Secret Diary and how did it end up in Hogwarts? The three friends unveiled, little bit little, the mystery of the Chamber and trapped into unprecedent danger. The element of suspense makes story interesting to follow. Dobby, the impish Malfoy family house-elf, warned Harry not to go back to Hogwarts at the beginning makes it very difficult for me to put the book down! I rate this second of the series 4.5 stars. Another good read.

Summary: "There is more than one way to burn a book"
Review: The above quote was from the Coda of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I quote it because while looking through all the one star quotes you see a lot of 'Don't let your children read it, it should be banned ect...' In other words they want to ... burn the book 'cos of their frail mind and 'idea's.' What also irritates me is the large amount of fellow Christians here bashing it and calling it 'Satanic' I am a strong Christian, and guess what? It's not. Witch's magic? Oh dear if a kid can't handle that however will they handle the real world? The point of a Fairy Tale is to prepare kids for the real evil in our world! No these books aren't The Narnia. The Chronicles Of Narnia is my favorite series, and these books o course are not supposed to be anything like them so don't expect them to be. Harry Potter isn't allegory (well according to Lewis's idea neither was Narnia) so don't expect the same level of skill or style. He had witches and goblins as well, will you ban him next? (Oh I forgot some "Christians" think Lewis is evil as well.) Besides "The Last Battle" was more horrific on a psychological level and in its vivid description of battle and mayhem then anything in this book (remember the horses and dwarfs?). There you have the destruction of lands, and all hell (literally) being rained down upon them. Here they have people in a state of shock and a villain getting killed. True the purpose behind the events in Narnia were different, all I'm saying is that the 'disturbing for children' was even more in "The Last Battle". These books are in no way evil; they are however entertaining, un-offensive and fine for kids. Don't worry about polluting minds, being sent to hell or comparing it to a completely different style of writing, just sit and read them for what they are. The ironic this is I never even intended to read a Harry Potter book, I made a promise I would in order to get someone to read Bradbury and here I am defending it, so... don't pre-judge and just get and enjoy them!

Summary: Excellent sequel !
Review: The author (J.K. Rowling)has a great imagination. She is a dream maker. That means that she makes anything possible in books. Magic things happen like instant travelling by using a powder (floo powder), games played on magic flying broomsticks(quidditch) cars that fly, owls that deliver mail. Everything, even hats are magical - there is a hat (sorting hat)that chooses to which house the students will belong - Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw,Griffindor and Slytherin. There is a complete other world -not the one that we know of.. This book takes you to another world - a magical world. It makes me feel that I am missing out on a lot of fun things. I would like to be Harry Potter.

Summary: Another exciting nail-biter
Review: The author takes the reader on another high-flying adventure with Harry and his friends. It is at times an edge-of-your-seat read, but can also be a little graphic and scary for younger readers (of 8 or less years of age.) It's hard even for adults to put down! It leaves you waiting to start reading Harry's next adventure.
