Summary: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Review: Of the first 3 Harry Potter books, the Chamber of Secrets is definitely the best. It skips the setting up of the first book and goes directly into the mystery and excitement. It is a very well written story, wonderful use of descriptive language that would be a challenge to the vocabulary impaired. A must read or read aloud for ages 8 and up.

Summary: A different angle
Review: Of the three Harry Potter books so far published, this is not the best. However, the quality of the writing and story are still far above the competition. Volume two changes direction a bit and messes with perceptions of time and existence. The theme is done a little better and more intricately in book three, but this book is worth buying. If for no other reason, buy it to get the story on why Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts so long ago.

Summary: Where is the magic??
Review: Oh dear...where should I begin? To be honest, the 1st half of this book just isn't that exciting - if not boring - compare to the 1st book.

I can only read so much about Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia's abuse to Harry - it's just not very intesting - I'm sorry.

The 2nd half things begin to pick up, I only wish JKR wrote the 1st half more exciting...

Summary: GREAT!
Review: Oh man! This book (and the others for that matter) are da bomb! J.K. Rowling really knows how to keep EVERYONE reading! I've read all 3 books and I have to say J.K. Rowling don't end at 7 books because I want to know what happens to Harry after Hogwarts. To all those people who think these books are bad because they are about witchcraft THEY'RE NOT! It's all fiction! GREAT BOOK!

Summary: AMAZING! ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL!
Review: Oh, man. Where do I start? This book blew me away. I felt like I was standing in Hogwarts, and it was wonderful. After reading Sorcerer's Stone, I was eager to get started on the sequel, yet doubted it could be any better than the first. Of course, I was very wrong. I finished this 341 page novel in nearly 21 hours. I began to read it directly after the purchase and was quite unhappy when I had to go to bed. The next morning, I read it over breakfast, at the bus stop, and on the bus. Sadly, I had to keep it in my locker during school, yet my mind kept straying from my lessons and focusing on the book in my backpack. I read it on the entire bus ride home and had my face buried in it while walking back home. I finished it at 5:00 that night. In my opinion, Rowling outdid herself in this book, nearly impossible, since she is such a terrific writer. The ending was loads more surprising than Sorcerer's Stone. If you've read it, you must agree. Though hard to believe, the Dursleys were even crueler than usual and Fred and George more prone to pranks. Ginny Weasley is properly introduced in this book, and she plays a significant role in the plot. Well, i know there is endless praise associated with this book, but I have a word limit, so I fear I must stop. Yet, I HIGHLY reccomend Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets if you have read Book 1. You'd be crazy not to.

Summary: Welcome back to Hogwarts
Review: Oh, sequels...name one sequel that is better than the original... Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! The audience is pulled deeper into the magical world, meeting new faces and better-knowing acquaintances. This book is hard to put down, and it is full of more excitement and creativity than the first. Harry is pulled into yet another adventure, however, this one is not like the first. Harry begins to doubt himself, who is is, what he is capable of, and where he truly belongs. Here, Harry discovers more about himself, his friends, and the history of Hogwarts.

Review: Ok if u've read the book, good u know what it's about...If u havn't go bye it now...GO ON! I really did love it and after the first one I expected to aswell... U just can't pull ya self away from that Harry boy with those kind of adventures! I think once u're old enough to understand it's wit then u're gonna enjoy it. I'm 14 now and each time the books have come out I've been the same age as the characters..... that just added to the excitement for me... except no 'ickle envolope with green writing came through my door ...(sigh I just wish it was all true..etc!) Anyway I can't wait for the next book to comee out...oh in say a couple of days...c ya at the book store as we all scramble for a copy!

Summary: Harry Potter keeps the pages turning
Review: OK, even though I am a little old for Harry Potter books, I can't help it. I was babysitting and I picked it up, and I just couldn't put it down, so of course, I had to run out and buy all 3 so that i could get the whole story, and read them all in about 2 days, and I am now eagerly awaiting the next one. "Chamber of Secrets" was good, but I don't think it had quite the flair of the first one. By no means is this book tough going, it's quite easy to read, and it is quite entertaining. I enjoy reading something light, and Harry's adventures in Hogworts, playing Quidditch, and dealing with muggles make for fun reading. I now have a book I can read for myself, i can read it to my neice, I can pull it out when I babysit, even my Mom likes them. Harry Potter has all around apeal, and almost anyone can enjoy this book immensly.

Summary: JK is GREAT
Review: Ok, I have an addiction. I have to read the Potter books, I have to buy them, I have to make others read them, I have to read them again. I have to find fan fiction to carry me over to the next book. OK there...I said it.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Overrated. The Hardy Boys meet Goosebumps.
Review: OK, so I'm the only one who had not heard the hype of Harry Potter before I picked up this book. Yet once I told folks that I was about to read it, their enthusiasm overwhelmed me. Frankly, I just don't get it. Maybe it's because I'm uncomfortable reading made-up words and names that can't be easily pronounced. Or because characters such as Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom could have been dreamed up by the writers of Saturday Night Live. Or that magic is used by the author to provide simple endings to complex situations. If only I could believe that the Quidditch game rules were designed to actually work (try drawing the game field, players, etc. to see what I mean). Sorry, Harry, I think you're going down in history as a fad, not a legend.
