Summary: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Review: Another enchanting story of Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All of her characters seem to jump off the page, from the comical Dobby to the cruel Dursleys. A must read for fantasy fans.

Summary: A Magical Review!
Review: Another good book in this series. Character development of the three primary characters is well done. The plot also develops the surrounding cast, introduces new characters, and extends out knowledge of the Hogwarts Castle. The end of the book races to its conclusion, really moving you on a quick journey. Despite this speed, the ending is very well done and extremely well thought out.

Summary: Another page-turning delight
Review: Another terrific read in the ubiquitous Harry Potter series. This 30 year-old reader was hooked from page one, truly unputdownable. This second book delves deeper into the dark origins of Lord Voldemort and the climax is truly frightening. A mystery that keeps you guessing, characters that really live and breathe off of the page, and action sequences that make you want to race ahead to see how it all turns out - Ms. Rowling is a master at the art of good old-fashioned storytelling. Her stories are to be read and cherished by anyone who cares about good writing.

Summary: Rowlings is a hit with my middle school students!
Review: Anyone who works with children should read this book. It has something for everyone! The book is exciting, has a mystery, and involves witchcraft and wizardry. The young Harry Potter returns for his second year at Hogsworth and more trouble! I loved the first book and this one was not a disappointment! I teach English in a low income/gang area in So. Calif, and my students loved both of these books. I use them for read aloud time. If you have children, you should get these books!

Summary: The Secerts now reveled!
Review: Are you ready for a change? Well Harry potter and the chamber of secrets was on New York's best time sellers list in 1998. It is the 2nd book out of a series of 4 books. The 1st 2 books were so popular they made them a movie.
Harry Potter (the main character) lives with his aunt petunia, Uncle Vernon, and his cousin Dudley because his parents died. The last year he found out that he is a wizard and had been accepted to Hogwarts the best wizardry school.
This year he had been visited by a house elf named dobby. Dobby tells Harry that he must not go back to Hogwarts because He- who- must- not- be- named will get Harry and kill him. Dobby does something horrible to a guest of his Uncle Vernon. Harry is blamed for it and he is locked up in his room so he can't return to Hogwarts.
Harry's friend Ron is worried about Harry because he hasn't returned any responses from Harry. Ron and his 2 brothers come to Harry's Rescue in a flying car. They get Harry and return to Ron's house. Ron's mother is furious, because her 3 sons had left the house with no note and a missing car, but she is very happy to see Harry because she has been worried about him as well as the rest of the family. Hermione write Ron and Harry asking if they got Harry out O.K. and how she can't wait to see them at school.
Harry and Ron have trouble getting to the school. They get to the school and nearly get expelled. But some things from the past are coming back and are putting the students in real danger. As usual Harry, Ron, and Hermione are in the mess. They know they shouldn't be doing this but Harry doesn't want with his uncle, aunt, and cousin. Harry is determined to try and save Hogwarts. Could Dobby be right?
Come and read this adventurous story that J.K. Rowland has created for you to read. If you don't believe me that it is a great book read it your self!

Summary: Scapino, Barnum and Harry Potter
Review: As "Chamber of Secrets" is my favorite Potter volume, it seems appropriate to note in this space the tremendous contribution Jim Dale has made to the art of audiobooks. Mr. Dale's far-reaching career as actor, singer, and comedian has now burst into the field of narration. His Potter reads are both touching and hillarious, and he keeps the unabridged texts moving at a steady clip, barely giving the listener a chance to breath as he leaps from character voice to character voice. Very few audiobooks offer such an inspired blending of reader and material.

Summary: score #2 for Ms. R!
Review: As a 12 year old, sometimes I think I should go back to reading adult novels like the pool of two moons, but this has got me hooked! I used to think Harry and hermione should get the hookup, but now it seems clear they're just friends. Have you ever felt that your favorite book was yours and yours only, and you never wanted to share it? Well, that's how I feel about this one. It seemed to me, that the adventure was more powerful and the mystery was deeper, and I liked that Herimone stayed during the holidays to help with the potion. The part were it turns out Tom Riddle was-oops, almost told the ending and wee wouldn't want that would we! Just take my word for it. GET THIS BOOK!

Summary: harry potter fun for all ages
Review: As a 37 year old woman i read harry potter 1 and 2 with the same thought in mind. they are children's books. they are fun. they are not great literary works but the fact that kids all over the world are grabbing this and reading, some for the first time, makes these books a success. J.K.Rowling did let her imagination run wild and i must say she created a world filled with mystery, excitement, education and fun. While Harry goes through each year at Hogwarts he is confronted with challenges of all kinds. Among the greatest lesson to be learned from these books is tolerence and respect for your fellow man. Even though Harry is blessed with a remarkable resolve for doing the right thing he is surrounded by idividuals who are constantly testing his prowess as a human being and friend. He exhibits true loyalty for his friends. As the story continues you can see the characters develop a litte more with each book. I can't wait to read Prisoner of Askhaban.
