Summary: Sorcerer's Stone
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a compelling adventure of a young boy who goes from being an outcast to being a well renowned wizard....This soon to be classic children's book has all the elements to keep any ten-year-old to adult consumed and enticed into reading the Harry Potter saga. Between its epic journey of good verses evil and its wizardry and witchcraft verses the muggle world, there is no end to J.K. Rowling's creative imagination. The novel flies by very quickly and packs quite a punch. From an Owl UPS delivery service to the high speed broomstick game of Quidditch and the frightening but satisfying conclusion of the first book, Harry Potter made me want to jump on the back of the closest Centaur and ride in the light of the moon.

Summary: Wonderful book
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a fantasy book by J.K. Rowling. It shows you magic and spells. The protagonist is Harry, and he has two friends to help him on his adventure. They are Hermione and Ron. They try to help their school and they succeed. Harry is always in trouble, Ron always afraid, and Hermione is a teacher's pet. Harry and his friends are trying to save the school by finding the Sorcerer's Stone because someone is trying to take it and use it for bad magic.

What I liked about the book is that it had a lot of excitement. It was interesting when Harry and Ron were playing wizard chess, and they had to tell the pieces where to go. I thought it was cool when the queen stood up and hit the other chess piece. I also liked when Ron tried a magic trick on his rat and it just made a noise. It was interesting when Harry ran right through the wall so he could get on the train to go to school. It was suspicious when Snape was always there when Harry, Ron, and Hermione were always trying to figure out the mystery. However, I didn't like when Ron didn't die playing the big version of wizard chess. The chess players were so brutal to the people it would have made more sense if he had been killed. There were a lot of Weasley family members and it would be interesting to see how they would have reacted to Ron's death. This is a wonderful fantasy book that can take you to another place that is magical.

Summary: Captivating humorous fantasy
Review: HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE is a fantasy of the order of such great authors as Roald Dahl (MATILDA), C.S. Lewis (THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE), and Madeleine L'Engle (A WRINKLE IN TIME). Simply put, this book is a classic and a masterpiece of children's fantasy.

This book introduces us to Harry Potter, who lives with his nasty relatives the Dursleys. His life changes one day when he receives a letter from Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry -- he's not normal, he's a Wizard! From there we are introduced to myriad kooky and endearing characters: friends Ron and Hermione, big buddy Hagrid, professors Dumbledore and McGonagall, enemies Snape, Draco, and Vol... You-Know-Who.

J.K. Rowling has masterfully rendered a captivating page-turner. This book includes everything one could wish in a fantasy: interesting characters, a strong tension between good and evil, plenty of mystery, dramatic twists-and-turns, and a bit of magic.

This book is a must-read for kids and adults alike. It's imaginative, clever, and a good read.

Summary: Harry Potter- Highly Addictive For Young and Old Alike.
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a fascinating read for children and adults alike. You will be pulled deep into the story of young, orphaned Harry and his many escapades at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

This story, and the ones that follow it, are superbly written. The vocabulary is perfectly suited for its intended target audience, children ages nine through twelve, but still not so simply worded that it becomes boring in the least for its adult readers. This is a perfect book for reading aloud to your children. The hardest part for most parents will be resisting the urge to cheat and read ahead after the kids fall asleep.

In the Harry Potter series, J. K. Rowling has created a masterpiece that will stand for all time beside such notables as C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Rowling blends reality and fantasy with a deft touch, making the reader wonder whimsically if Hogwarts truly exists, if wizards and Muggles are real, and maybe, just maybe, if you look hard enough, you might see wizard children playing Quidditch in rural fields.

Even those readers who do not typically enjoy fantasy will love this book. There are elements of nearly every genre in existence flawlessly woven throughout the story. Suspense, humor, mystery, Rowling does justice to them all.

I cannot recommend this book, indeed this whole series, highly enough. This is one of those stories that, at the last page, leave you both satisfied with the conclusion to the story and frantic to read more about the characters involved.

I would, however, like to leave you with a warning about the Harry Potter series. They are highly addictive. Once you read one, you will want to read them all. This reader, for one, is counting the days until the next volume is released.

Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a fun and exciting book. J.K. Rowling did a great job of explaining every detail. I like the idea of it and I can't wait to read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I saw this book in my library and I was very excited to read it because my friend had read it and she said it was a really good book. So i read it and I told all of my friends that it was a very detailed and descriptive book. Like I said before I'm very excited to both of the sequals. J.K. Rowling, this book is great. I hope to see many good books to come. Good luck!!!!
