Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling is an excellent book for all ages and I would definitely urge everyone to read it. The author has put together a sensational plot with extraordinarily fascinating characters that hook a reader on the story. I started reading the book and could not stop. The wizards, the magic, and the Quidditch (the favorite sport of all wizards in which the players fly on broomsticks trying to score goals with five balls) just kept me reading. Harry, the main character of the story, is forced to live with his controlling aunt and uncle after his parents died. When Harry is eleven he finds out that he is a wizard and is sent to the Hogwarts School of Magic, for witches and wizards. He undergoes many adventures throughout his time at school, which earn him honor and respectability. At first I was embarrassed to be reading Harry Potter, which my mom said I would enjoy, as it is a book recommended for ages five to twelve - I'm sixteen. My younger brother, who isn't a big reader, read this book in a couple of days, straight. We couldn't get him away from it. I thought if he liked it so much then I guess I would enjoy it too. Was I in for a big surprise! It is the best book I have ever read and I can't wait to read the next two!

Summary: A Waiting Adventure Not to Be Passed Up.
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling is not just a children's book, as some feel it is meant to be, but offers something that a reader of any age can enjoy. As I read I came to find two literary elements that set this book apart from many others in it's genre. First, that the imagery in this book was fantastic, great detail was put into every scene in order to create a clear image for the reader. When it came to the movie a great deal of things were exactly as I had imagined them to be. Meaning that the director of the films had taken the same image from the book and saw it in his mind's eye as I had when we both read the book. And, when it came to the book's characters, they were very well developed as well. Rowling gave such a good sense of his characters that by the end of the first chapters I actually wanted to beat up Dudley and the rest of Harry's family. Because of how they had been spoiling Dudley rotten and letting him go unpunished no matter how horrible his attitude was. The other thing that it does is that it keeps you interested throughout the book. It does this in a couple ways, first the details that I mention before, secondly by providing the reader with a world, words, people, sports, animals, and lifestyles that s/he has never seen or read about before. This great creativity on Rowling's part then leads the reader through an adventure that s/he will find hard to put down. Overall, this book is fantastic, and it will undoubtedly keep your interest, and keep you craving for more of Harry's adventures, regardless of your age.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling.
Harry Potter just found out that he was a wizard and that his parents were killed by an evil wizard, Voldemort. Voldemort tried to kill Harry when he was one year old also, but was unsuccessful and left Harry with a lightning scar on his forehead. At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry found out that the Sorcerer's Stone (a stone which holds a potion that gives eternal life) is hidden. Harry and his two best friends need to save the Stone from Voldemort.
I thought this book was wonderful for all ages. It was filled with action and adventure. Harry Potter was great because it was on of the only books to tear so many kids away from the television.

Summary: Harry Potter a Great Book
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
A Review by Jordan
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the first book of the Harry Potter series. The main character, Harry, is orphan as an infant and survives tough times. He is raised by uncaring relatives who make him sleep in a closet under the stairs. All that changes when a giant, bearded stranger named Hagrid appears on Harry's eleventh birthday, tells the boy that he possesses magical powers and then whisks him off to a special school for wizards.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a book I just couldn't put down. I really liked the Quiddich matches. I recommend this book to all ages and anyone who just likes the thought of magical powers like, spells, potions, charms, transfiguration, and flying broomsticks. The characters were great they had the Hero, the Brains, the comic relief, and the good friend. To find out who's who read this book. There was nothing I didn't like about this book it was very well written, great characters, and overall just a great story. So, that's why I give this book five stars.

Summary: The first book of Harry Potter's Adventures
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

I have finally jumped on the bandwagon and decided to read the first installment of the adventures of young Harry Potter. In HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE by J.K. Rowling, we are introduced to Harry Potter and his miserable life with his relatives, the Dursley's. Harry is orphaned as an infant, and is sent to live with the Dursley's, who are his only known relatives. For reasons unknown to Harry, he is treated less than a second class citizen is. He sleeps in a closet and is treated like dirt, while his cousin Dudley is spoiled rotten.

Harry's life was never normal. Strange, magical things would happen around him. His Aunt and Uncle seem to have a strange fear of Harry, almost to the point of obsession, and it seems that these abnormal happenings are somehow tied to Harry. His Aunt and Uncle are never sure what is really happening, but to be on the safe side they are constantly punishing Harry for anything that happens that seems out of the ordinary.

Then one day, Harry's life changes for the better. After a series of strange events regarding the postal service and a bunch of letters addressed to him, on his 11th birthday Harry finds himself being taken to a new home, a school for wizards: "HOGWARTS SCHOOL FOR WIZARDS". A whole new world is opened up to him, and Harry finds himself finally happy and surrounded by many friends and admirers as he learns the way of the wizard's life.

His best friends at school, Ron and Hermione, along with Harry, learn how to become wizards. Ron's abilities as a wizard are somewhat questionable, but Hermione's quite the expert even in her first year. Between the three of them, they have a series of adventures that is out of this world.

I am going to give a biased thumbs up for HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE, only because I had seen the movies first and read this book with the movie in mind. I can't say for a fact that if i hadn't seen the movies in the first place, whether or not I would have enjoyed these books as much as I did. I do have to say that J.K. Rowling is a very gifted writer and I would find it interesting if she decided to put out a series of books for adults. I currently have the entire collection of Harry Potter books at home, ready to be read, so I am hoping the rest of the series is as good as this first book.

Summary: The grat book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K.Rowling introduces Harry, a boy who knows little of his secret abilities. The gatekeeper, Hagrid, introduces Harry to the world he is yet to know. Harry is faced with problems of safety for himself plus everyone at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Read and try to find out who is trying to steal the sorcerer's stone. A source of great power of immortal life.
This book is a must read. It's a fantastic book for kids plus adults of all ages. The plot pulls the reader into each page to experience the situation. I promise you this book will bring you to the edge of your seat. Harry is faced to fight evil in forms of plant, animal, and sprits.
Author J.K.Rowling was going through a time in her life when she was unemployed. She needed money to support her daughter and decided to write a book about the stories they shared at night. These stories that she has written can be shared by the whole family. Take one home and enjoy.

Summary: A Wonderful Book!
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone can live up to the high expectations many readers have of the Harry Potter series. The book is a classic good versus evil book, and from the very beginning Harry is our hero. Beginning the book, I was first introduced to Harry and his past in the first few chapters. Following that, we are taken to Harry's first year at a new wizarding school and are easily swept up in his life there. As the plot unraveled, we were introduced to a past evil (Voldemort) and a new present evil. The book gains momentum and suspense until the end, where a satisfying climax awaits the reader. The main characters are not perfect, but flawed, making them more real to the reader. Even Dumbledore, the wise headmaster at Hogwarts, has a sense of humor. The Harry Potter books have been written for young kids, and therefore, easy for anyone to read. Once alerted of a mystery at Hogwarts, I was easily caught up in the story. The book is such a fast read. Coming home from school, I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in just one day. Now I can not wait to read the second book in the series.

Summary: Here is a terrific and exciting book
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone had great character development, plots, and action. The main character, Harry Potter, changed throughout the book. In the beginning, he was like any other teenager. In his case he felt that he was not accepted by his family. He had no friends and hated life. He felt alone in the world. Then toward the middle and at the end he became popular and had many friends. His school, Hogwarts, becomes his home and family. Harry Potter finds his niche in the world. JK Rowling created a magical and unique plot. I loved how the plot in the beginning was very dark and dull, but towards the middle it developed into something that was magical and fun. I wanted to be there attending that school, learning how to make spells and flying on a broom atick. The action contributed to making the plot fun. The action developed as Harry learned how to make glass vanish, then to fly on a broom stick and then how to fight evil wizards and monsters. Every child and adult can relate and have fun reading this book because it is unique. This book relates to reality in a way. Every child and adult wants to be accepted by society and be popular. They want to find their destiny in life. J.K. Rowling used one character, Harry Potter, to illustrate this.
