Summary: The Marvelous Book...
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone is a very good book. It's about a boy whose parents died because of a wizard. So now Harry has to live with his relatives that are very mean to him and don't like him. Soon all these letters are coming to Harry, and his uncle gets so annoyed that he moved to a house that is about to fall down. Before that he tried different places, but the letters still came! That day it was Harry's birthday at 12:00 p.m. Then in the middle of night at 12:00 p.m. there was a knock at the door. His uncle came and answered the door and a strange looking man came in. He said that he was taking Harry to school at Hogwarts. And some very weird things were happening in the middle of the book! And I am positive that you woule love the book! The book is good because it's an exciting story and I think you should read it!

Summary: A Superb Book!!!!
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone was very well written and the book had wonderfull imagery. It amazed me how the author could even think of the name Hogwarts for the name of a boarding school and how he could come up with all the different kinds of rooms Harry had to go though before he could get the special object he needed to obtain. This book is an absolute two thumbs up!!!!!

Summary: Ole Miss EDEL620 Review
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone, the first novel in the Harry Potter series, by J. K. Rowling, was intriguing. Because of its mystery and imaginative style, it is a book that can be enjoyed by any age group. The story entices the reader with tales of adventure intertwined with the constant battle between good and evil. Reading the novel it was easy to recall the frustrations associated with meeting new people and adjusting to new social settings. The book leaves you eager to continue the journey in the sequels that follow.

Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone

I have just recently read this book and I didn't really care for it. I think that it would make a great children's book though. I didn't like the story that much because I like sport stories the most because I am a sports kid. Out of all the adventure stories that I have read so for Harry Potter has probably been the best. Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone is about a boy and his parents die and Harry Potter goes to a wizard school. Harry has to protect the school and keep a guy named Voldemore from taking over the school. The climax of the story is when Harry Potter fights Voldemore and tries to get the stone back to help the school.

Summary: Wizards & Witches are weird.
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcere's Stone by J.K. Rowling was a good book. It was the longest book I've ever read. The whole wizard and witch thing was very fascinating. In this book there were many exiting adventures. Because Harry and his friends were always being nosey, they got into a lot of trouble. Hagrid, Harry's gamekeeper, was sort of watching over him. There are many lessons I've learned by reading this book. One of them is, not to play with magic because if you do you might find yourself in trouble. Reading it may take a while but it's worth it. All of the characters are very unique and weird. Some of them have names I couldn't pronounce. This book kept me on the edge of my seat!

Summary: A captivating adventure of wizards and magic
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcere's Stone, by J.K. Rowling is a spell-binding story of magical wonders that a new world has to offer. As you read this novel the events that happen always lead to questions that amke you want to know what will happen next. From the begining, the novel is a mistery in wich you never know who is the bad guy. The novel is not only for children for I feel that adults can also relate to the expiriences that Harry has to go through. Being able to read the book so fast made me realize how good it realy is. In my opinion Harry Potter and the Sorcere's Stone is a must read book because it has a lot of adventures that many non-fiction readers would enjoy.

Summary: Plots Drives Potter Series
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone well deserves the critical acclaim it's won over the past few years. Even though Rowling's characters Harry, Ron and Hermione are very likeable and we are very intertwined in their lives, it's Rowling's use of plot that drives her novels to their real success. She writes very deliberately and very furtively, which is fun, if you're someone who likes to try to figure out what's going to happen next as you read. The best part, in my opinion, is that there are several points in the novel where the plot is turned inside out, leaving the reader astonished -- her writing style is very reminiscient of the writing of M. Night Shyamalan movie, of the Sixth Sense fame. Perhaps you've heard the criticism that these books encourage witchcraft because they are not set in "another world." From the moment Harry steps on the Platform 9 and 3/4, he enters another world, a magical one at that, and the reader is thrown into a place that has its own sports, lingo, and rules. There is plenty of room to let the imagination roam, which is fun. If you are too concerned that these books have some evil lurking under the cover, let me assure that these books not only seem very innocent, but that the books actually promote the distinctions between good and evil over and over and over. Anyone who has read them (not skimmed, but actually read) will be in no doubt that good is upheld in these books and evil is shown for what it is - dark, ugly and deceptive. I believe that in order to know good, we must also know evil and look in the face once in a while, which is why the Harry Potter Series is so great. There is no confusion what is good and what is evil. Every great series seems to have this good-evil distinction (Narnia, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings...), and even though evil is explained and even examined, it is not glorified nor does it ever emerge victorious when it is faced with the good, the beautiful and the true.

"Welcome! Welcome to a new school year," said Dumbledore, the principal of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter is an eleven year old orphan boy who has just discovered that he is a wizard. He is sent off to attend his first year at Hogwarts. Before school begins, Harry's friend, Hagrid, takes him to Diagon Alley to shop for school supplies. Harry gets a new wand and a new pet owl. Hagrid gave the owl to Harry for a birthday present.
Harry quickly makes friends with Ron and Hermione. The three best friends enjoy the first few weeks of school as they meet new teachers and friends. They have lots of fun testing out their magic and learning to ride their brooms. Soon they run into a little trouble which leads to many adventures and exciting experiences!
I recommend this book to adventurous boys and girls above the age of six. After I began reading Harry Potter, I couldn't put it down! It became one of my favorite books! It was so good because this is a fantasy and I love books that are fantasies! When you finish this book, there are four other books in this series that you can read!

Summary: Harry Potter
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

"They all drew their chairs to the table and watched with bated breath." This is the exciting story of magic and playing sports on flying broomsticks. Harry Potter is a wizard who, ever since he was a baby, had to live with his aunt and uncle who never told him that he is a wizard because he was afraid that every one would find out. He kept Harry Potter's whole life a secret. He told him that his parents died in a car accident and he was the only survivor and the only thing he got from the accident was a scar on his forehead.
On his birthday he is visited by a man named Rubeus Hagrid who tells him that he is a wizard. Harry never knew who his parents were. Harry goes to a school for wizards and witches to develop his powers and to find out about his parents. He also finds friends because he has never had any before.
Harry Potter is an adventurous boy who is not afraid to take on evil sorcerers, giant trolls, or other wizards. Harry Potter does do a lot of sneaking around, but he also gets caught. Even his punishment is exciting. He has to go into the woods at night and find what beast is killing animals.
I really like this book science fiction book. It is the first in a series by J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone and the second one in the series are also movies, but the book is so much better. This book teaches readers the importance of friends. This is one of those books that holds on to you and doesn't let you go. Read this book you'll really enjoy it.
