Rating: Summary: No matter how much you read it, you'll never get tired of it Review: You could read this book a quintillion of times and never get tired of it. Now with the movie coming out, it's going to be like a Cinderella, Trimmers,Wizard of Oz, and The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe, put together.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL!!! Review: You don't have to be in the 9-12 age group to enjoy HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE. I read it in one day in between meal preparation and clean-up and dragging the sprinkler around the garden. I had to see what happened next. I'm an avid reader of books by Robert B. Parker, Sue Grafton, Nevada Barr, Doug Allyn, Maeve Binchy, and tons of other fiction and non-fiction adult writers. J. K. Rowling has now been added to my list of favorites and I'm more than 4 times 12! Can't imagine anyone being disappointed by this book no matter what their age.
Rating: Summary: Magic Review: You don't need to be a child to read this book. It is pure magic and joy. If you don't enjoy the magic of this book you are simply too hard to please. Let the child in you run free and escape to a world of muggles, witches and wizards.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read!!!!! Review: You have got to read this book! If you don't buy it here, buy it somewhere!
Rating: Summary: A Piece of Magic Review: You have heard people say that Harry Potter and The Sourcerer's Stone is the best book ever written in all of history. But what good is that? Tons of people say what there favorite book is, and 87% of the time no one aknowledges their remark. Therefore, it will take my greatest writing skill to convince you to read (and like) this book. If you do not, I've failed. Try me.Put yourself out of the pleasures of your nice and comfortable home, and into a dark, cobwebby cupboard. In the morning, you are woken bright and early by a violent rapping on your cupboard door and a shrill voice commanding you to get up. Your aunt and uncle (who you live with, as your parents are dead) make you mow the lawn, weed the flower beds, prune the bushed, scrub the floor, polish the silverware, et cetura. Your life goes on like this for 10 painful years, until, miracuosly, you recieve your first letter. Before you can even open it, your uncle has snatched it out of your hands. He takes one glance at it and turns chalk white. More of these letters arrive, the amount doubeling each day. However, your aunt and uncle always manage (through violent fights) to shred them all up. On Sunday, hundreds of them come shooting down the chimney. Uncle pushes everyone into the car, and drives away. You drive for days on end, until, finally, he rows everyone out to a "hut-on-a-rock" out at sea. The wind is howling, rain ounding on the shack's roof, and the waves collasping on the rosck below. You stay up all night, wondering about the letter when ... BOOM The door bursts open. You sit straight up, and your uncle comes skidding into the room holding a rifle. Both are horrified at what is now standing in the room ...

Rating: Summary: For Adults, Too!!!! Review: You know I didn't want to buy and read the Harry Potter books because they have been so commercialized. However, all of my friends have been telling me how much they enjoyed them and how they can't wait for the next book to come out. So I took a chance, and I'm glad I did. Fascinating stuff here. This author really has some imagination. It's my first fantasy book and I loved it. It's all about Harry Potter and his adventures at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Who says these books are just for children? Anyone of any age I believe will love this book. It's so simple to read, yet so captivating. Well, I'm off on my broomstick to read the second book. Later.............
Rating: Summary: A Great Start to a Great Series Review: You know, I can tell why so many Christians and religious groups hate these books... No really... it's very evil, what with the children having fun, and learning the value of friendship. The main character is especially demonic. Harry has some audacity to willingly leave a home and situation where he is regularly starved, confined, and beaten for a place where he finds friends, love, family, and a past he never knew he had. Seriously, it just reeks of Satan. Honestly, the Harry Potter books are wonderful entertainment for children and adults. I found myself shutting off my inner-cynic while reading, and being carried into a world that is as well-realized as it is fun. Rowling's style is funny, witty, and emotionally moving. I can't wait for book 5, guess I just have to read the first four again. And mark Novemember 15 on your calendars... the Second Movie.
Rating: Summary: Ignore those strange looks... Review: you might receive from others while reading this on your commute to work. I'm a 28 year old woman who decided to see what all the hype was about. Now I get it! Harry Potter is not just for kids...I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats. I couldn't put this book down. I'm an avid Anne Rice fan, and J.K. Rowling's prose is just as elegant and imaginative-and suitable for the under 18 age group. I ran out to buy book #2 within hours of finishing book #1!
