Summary: THE BEST
Review: When I was ten I became a Harry Potter fan. Wherever I was you would see me with one of those Harry Potter books under my arm. My favorite part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is "Quidditch." Man, if i had a *nimbus 2000 broomstick, I would like to play that! These are great books, which I recommend to anyone who can read.

Summary: This book is perfect!!!!!
Review: When I was visiting my Aunt in Toronto I came upon a small bookstore. While rummaging through the books, the lady who worked there came up to me and recomended Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. She told me it was the stores number one book, and that she could recomend that I would buy the second one. I was warry of the book because it was the hardcover version and was fairly expensive but my Aunt bought it for me. As soon as I started reading I couldn't stop. This book was perfectly written. It says the ages are for 9-12 but I think that everyone who reads this book will enjoy it. This book was perfectly written. It's sure to become the next classic book. You know, Alice in Wonderland, Black Beauty......... Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I know the series sounds kind of fake and childish but it is not. It is the perfect book for anyone.

Review: When I was younger you couldn't find me without a fantasy or a sci-fi novel in hand. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone marks my long-anticipated return to this genre. I must say, it was not all that I had hoped for. It is possible that as I have grown older I have lost some of my appreciation for these works of fantasy, but I do not think that is the problem. Rather, I think that J.K. Rowling has taken a great idea but done only a fair job of carrying it through. No doubt, the story is fun and exciting, and I credit Rowling for not patronizing her young readers all that much... she gives them proper credit and allows them to puzzle some of the secrets out for themselves. However, I grew up on the fantasy books of C.S. Lewis, Peirs Anthony, Lloyd Alexander, and the grandfather of the fantasy genre: J.R.R. Tolkien. I feel as though these authors did better jobs of creating unique fantasy universes... Rowling gives her readers all the old standys: flying broomsticks, magic wands, etc. Granted, Rowling has a more difficult task in staking out new ground in the fanstasy world than her predecessors had, but I would have preferred something a little more atypical. Of course I understand why these books are so popular: unlike a book like 'The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe,' the Harry Potter books are about a young wizard who attends a wizardry school, and by including the typical school elements (the school bully, the unfair teacher, playground antics, the girl who always has to get an A on her tests, etc.) Rowling gives her young school-going readers something to identify with. Of course the story moves quickly and is written quite cleanly, and that doesn't hurt either.

Summary: Great book for any age, even for College students like me
Review: When I went to my aunt's and saw that she had this book I felt a little skeptical at first about reading it. Then I did and I was hooked from the start. I finished this one in one weekend and the second in the series the next weekend. Now I am on the third and I still cannot stop myself. Please keep then coming J.K. Rowling!

Summary: What Fun! You will fall in love with Harry Potter, too!
Review: When my 4th grade son asked for this hardbound book and then the "sequel"...I thought what is so "entrancing" with the Harry Potter books??

I read through the first book (Sorcerer's Stone) and "stole" his copy of the next book (Chamber of Secrets) and can't wait to read the 3rd book.

The story moves quickly and keeps you wanting more. This is a children's story but adults can enjoy the wizardry and fun with the "muggles" and Harry Potter.

We have great discussions about the pronunication of the characters' names to what we think will happen to Harry next!!

Truly a book that crosses the generations. What fun!!!

Summary: Harry Potter is the Wizard with the Mostest!
Review: When my aunt and uncle first got Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for me, I thought, Who cares? But after I read the first chapter, I wanted to know more and more. Four and a half days later, I was finished! I think it is inspiring to children and adults. I think it's amazing how when Voldermort tried to kill Harry, he got a scar shaped like a lightning bolt on his forehead. I would recommend the Harry Potter to kids or adults of any age. You're never too old to read about magic, amazement, and Harry Potter.

Summary: Harry Potter ROCKS!!!!
Review: When my best friend first showed me this book and told me to read it I was like you want me to read THAT. But she kep telling me 'you got to read Harry Potter' so I finally gave in and read Harry Potter. And it was great. Whenever I read it I felt like I had escaped into my own world. The whole book was exciting. I'm now reading J.K.'s second Harry Potter book, and it's just as good as the first, if not better. Thanks J.K. for writting a book that I loved to read.

Summary: A fantastic story for any age
Review: When my cousin first told me about her latest intrest- Harry Potter- I was skeptical at first. What would I want with a children's story about wizards and witches? How babyish! But as she kept on hounding me to try them, I finally gave in. The first chapter I thought, "Okay, pretty good, but I definetly have read better." After I read the second chapter, "Okay, it's pretty intresting. Maybe I was wrong." And the third: "Oh no! What's going to happen to Harry!" And just like that, I was hooked. THE SORCERER'S STONE and all the other Harry Potter books are wondefully written, and a great tale that any age will love. Even my mother loves them. She's reading the fourth book right now. For anyone not sure what to get a child, teenager, or even an adult, this first Harry Potter is definetly the way to go.

Summary: Don't worry about your kids, it's a great book!
Review: When my daughter said she wanted to read this book, I thought about all the comments that have been made by people wanting to ban the book, so I read it myself. This book rivals "The Hobbit". If you enjoyed reading "The Hobbit" when you were young, your kids will enjoy this even better. I enjoyed reading this and plan on buying the rest of Mrs Rowling's books to read for myself!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: SUPERB for all ages.
Review: When my friend (same age) reccomended this book, I was skeptical. However, after reading it, I was speechless. The tale of Voldemort, the Durlseys, Hogwarts, and (duh) Harry had me so engrossed I have read and reread it since. Everyone should read this book!
