Rating: Summary: Usagi14 Says... Review: This is an amazing book. I have read this book alone at least 20 times. You really get into the story, which makes it fun. J.K. Rowling is a very good author. I hope she writes much more.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Review: This is an awesome book for kids AND adults, too! My dad readthe book and said it was cool(I couldn't put the book down myself!)Harry(who everyone should know) is a wizard who lives with their aunt, uncle, and their big, fat, greedy, son. They don't respect Harry too much(they make him sleep in a tiny room under the stairs). His parents were killed by the evil Lord Voldemort(he who must never be named).Well, he gets sent to Hogwarts, a school for wizards and witches. You have to read the book to see what happens to him in school!!!!
Rating: Summary: Best book I've ever read! Review: This is an awesome book! In my class our teacher gives us 20 minutes to read books. When I first got this book, I thought it was going to be some dorky fairy tale thing, because I'm not the kind of person that likes those books! Anyway, when I started reading it in the 20 minutes that I had, I loved it and I never wanted to put it down! This is a GREAT book! Get it RIGHT NOW!
Rating: Summary: Loosen up! Review: This is an awesome book! It's fun, adventurous, and funny! People who don't like it because they think it is bad have their right to think so, I mean, no one in the world has the exact same opinion, right? But the stuff about it being anti christ and awefull for your kids is utterly rediculous! If your kids know it's not real, why be so scared it's going to make them stop going to church and worship the devil? The way most kids are influenced by Harry Potter is they want to read more! In other words, it's a good thing! Don't forget, there are OTHER religions in the world, other religions that fing it perfectly acceptable. And besides, if magic is so bad, why are there so many books about it that do-good-soccor-moms havn't freaked about?
Rating: Summary: Competent Review: This is an entertaining piece of whimsy, sometimes gripping. It doesn't come up to the best of Dahl or Tove Jansson, but give it credit for being genuinely entertaining. To be sure, it is for kids and not really for adults.
Rating: Summary: Rowling Mines Old Territory Very Well Review: This is an entertaining read for adults and kids. It uses quirky charaters and a sense of humour to keep you interested. If you like Potter books, you must read early James P Blaylock, especially The Elfin Ship (1982), The Disappearing Dwarf (1983), and the Stone Giant(1989). In fact I think Rowling is borrowing largely from Blaylock (who borrowed largely from Tolkien)
Rating: Summary: Best book ever! Review: This is an excellant book, it is inspirting and has high climate, I could put it down i recommend it to any body, looking for a mystery, funny, and excitting book.
Rating: Summary: The adventure and suspense book that is a gotta-read! Review: This is an excellent book especially if you like suspense and adventure. The characters were so real and the writing was descriptive. I was easily able to picture my self watching these events happening. I like fantasy books and if you do to, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a must read for you! The main plot of this book is that there is a boy named Harry Potter. For about 10 years, he is kept from the secret of being the son of two very famous wizards. When he finally finds out, he finds that he also gets to go to wizard school. The whole book is pretty much on his adventures and his friendships made in the new and mysterious land, the land of magic. Again, if you like suspense and mystery, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is definitely the book you should read.
Rating: Summary: HP Rulz! :-D Review: This is an excellent book, I couldn't keep it down and I'm in high school! People of all ages should be introduced into the world of Harry Potter, it's a book that you don't want to miss! J.K Rowling has a amazingly creative mind. The sequels are just as great. While the book is aimed more for children, it's a light read that's great for all ages.
