Summary: Different, but by far the best book I have ever read!
Review: This book was not like your average Sweet Valley Twins realistic fiction. It was different. It was creative and funny. It actually made me want to go to the school where this book takes place. This was the author's first novel. I hope she writes more stories about the same characters. It was an excellent book. I loved it.

Review: This book was one of my favorites. I like how different it was. I also liked how strange Harry was. I thought that the end was interesting. Harry diserved every thing he got. I couldn't put the book down it was so good. It kept me very interested. Like many other people I can't wait for the next ones to come out.

Summary: Exciting and Funny!
Review: This Book was one of those books that are so interesting, you can't stop reading! It is about a young boy who finds out he is a wizard. When he arrives at Hogwarts school of Wizardry and Witchcraft, he makes new freinds, learns a new sport, and solves a mystery involving the sorcerers stone. All in all this was an amazing book.

Summary: Held off reading book. Didn't want to believe hype.
Review: This book was one that I had avoided forever because I didn't want to go along with the hype. As an adult I also didn't want to read a "silly children's book". Well, it is a great children's book and a great book for adults. It definitely was a fast read but kept pace with interesting characters and plot developments. I recommend it to all "stubborn readers" as I once was. It definitely transported me away from the world for awhile and thoroughly distracted me. I can't wait to read the next installment.

Review: This book was pretty good. It had many exciting moments. The book lead you to think that one person was bad when it was really another. It start with Harry Potter, who lives with his aunt and uncle. They tell him that his parrents died in a car crash, which isn't true. Eventually a man named Hagrid comes and takes Harry to get ready to go to a school for wizards. This is where Harry's real adventures begin. He makes new friends and enemies. After a while of being at the school he learns that someone is trying to steal the Sorcerer's Stone. He and his two friends go and try to stop the person. Harry travels to the place where the stone is kept and retrieves it so that the evil Voldemort can't get it. This story is exciting and is over all a good book.

Summary: Whatever happened to the Philosopher?
Review: This book was published originally as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, but the title was changed for America, why? Is it because they thought... children were too stupid to understand what Philosopher meant?... Any child bright enough to read this book is surely bright enough to understand words like Philosopher. It is a long, involved, exciting, gripping story with a large cast of varied characters, full of magic and excitement, I can't believe any child who can appreciate this book would be baffled by the word Philisopher.

Summary: Quite entertaining...
Review: This book was quite entertaining and definitely held my interest, enough to prompt me to read its two sequals and eagerly await the third.Rowling has quite the imagination and has a way with names; however, I did get confused initially with all the names that began with the letter "H!" Other than this, the plot is well-constructed and has quite a few twists that keep the reader interested. My one complaint with this series of books is that the story-line is somewhat cliched. It's your basic "rags to riches," "Cinderella," "the good kid always wins," etc. motif that has been done oh-so-many times. As I pointed out earlier, though, Rawling has enough plot twists and quirky details to refresh this type of story and keep both adults and children alike turning the pages. This is a book that appeals to people of all ages and is written so that adults will not find it juvenile. I recommend this series to anyone who has ever fancied flying around on a broom or turning his enemies into a frog!

Review: This book was really great. I saw a few people who said that the book was too simple. Who cares! As long as you enjoy it whats the difference. I wouldent say that the book is written with tremendous skill and cunning, but It is entertainment! Alot of the fantasies i have read were boring. Someone also wrote that it is an insult to even ten year old readers, but really. It shouldent be! I am 13 yrs old, and although it was not extremely hard material, it was fun to read. I think that those comparing it with oth er books are just being stupid. It is just not the same thing. I have known a lot of people who have read and loved this book. Those who complain are just a few faces amidst millions who adore it.
